    But what if you have nothing to command? Â You do have something to command. If you're pilot then you are commanding the gunner. Works for all vehicles .

    Johnny didn't make an appearance in my mission today... I made a quick mission on the desert island with my Bradley providing forward recon for a platoon of dug in tanks and some infantry. I was lurking on the east side of the big mountain in the middle of the map, parked parallel to a low ridge near the mountains base. Me and the gunner were turned out looking for dust trails when I notice a swarm of T-80s about 700 metres away. I switch to TOW and order the gunner to engage. We get one TOW off, but a T-80 must have seen us, and I see the flash of his gun. The round comes in low, and just barely hits the small ridge I am hiding next to. Our Bradley still collects most of the explosion. Gunner dies immediately, and turrent is completely wrecked. I order the driver to reverse, and we scream backwards. Fortunately the M1's we were screening have begun to engage, so the T-80s leave us alone. I hid behind a mountain waiting for the shooting to stop, then I drove back to friendly lines with a charred turrent and a corpse hanging out of the gunner's hatch .

    Strange bug

    OK, I don't think you guys are getting what I mean by "destroyed", so I'll explain: PHASE 1: Mr B is in commander position of standard BIS M1 tank. PHASE 2: Mr B takes several direct hits from BIS T-80 tanks. PHASE 3: Tank status indicator thingy goes all red. Tank blows up, with explosion and shrapnel. Model of tank all twisted up. All crew members, except Mr B, are dead. PHASE 4: Mr B selects manual fire, presses left mouse button. Tank accelerates backwards at great speed. Hope this makes it clearer. Cheers Mr B

    Combat ration status check system

    All those ideas are good guys, but the man doesn't want more ideas, he wants solutions  . - I don't think the fuzzy optic view is possible. You would have to define the optic view as a weapon and force the player to use it. When he switches to another weapon like a hand grenade it would be lost. - There is no "setspeed" command for soldiers (that I know of). You'd have to use "setdammage" (yes, that's correct spelling), to degrade their capabilities. However, this would eventually mean that bloodstains would appear on their uniforms (bloody diahorrea? ). Alternatively you could use "setskill", but I don't think that would make much of a difference with speed. Hope this helps.     Strange bug

    Didn't see this mentioned anywhere..... Was playing a tank mission today, 4 Abrams Vs 8 T-80s. I was commander in my tank when my tank got hit by a salvo of T-80 rounds. Blew up, AI crew killed, but I lived (this is not the bug). Tank is totally destroyed at this point. Anyway, there were still some T-80s out there so I decided I would try and be useful and kill some tanks with manual fire, even though the gun was buggered. I switched to manual fire, pressed fire, and the tank drove backwards . I held down the fire button, and the tank starts to rocket backwards at what must have been close to 250 kmph!!! I was playing on the desert island, and the tank reversed over the western shoreline ridge and flew until it landed in the water and finally died. It was very interesting, and could be useful if I ever lose propulsion again . Anyone experienced this? Cheers Mr B

    You could try looking at the CoC swimmer script. It activates automatically the moment you enter the water over head height. Just the right depth to start the jets / raise the flap. Cheers Mr B

    Jonny saved me again, I was dug in on the desert island, just me and and Jonny. Both of us BAS deltas, me with an M-14 and the Jonny with an M-4. Several AI squads were charging us, about to wipe us out. I ran out of ammo and reloaded, when I noticed several AI charging from the left. They were very, VERY close. I finished reloading and brought my rifle up, just as the AI stops to fire. I hear two pistol shots from Jonny, and the AI drop. A few minutes later, while Jonny is reloading, the AI got too close and shot him. I was too busy to help . I could have saved him .

    Do i need tank commanders in a.i. controlled tanks

    Nah, I don't think you need a commander. The M113 works fine without a commander, and I'm sure I've given tanks two-man crews in campaigns when I'm short on guys. I think they might be a bit slower to acquire targets though . Cheers Mr B

    .Jonny the messiah saved my life . One time I was assaulting the beach on Everon that's south of the castle. I ordered the AI to advance while I popped off a few M-16 rounds at some Ruskies firing back. I got up to run and "Jonny" ran in front of me, taking a bullet. That bullet was meant for me .

    Don't wanna be pushy, but will we be seeing the update inside of a fortnight? Reason I ask is that I'm making a series of missions, and I would like to use the CH-53E, but I would prefer to use the updated version with the fixes. If it won't be released within a fortnight I'll just use the BAS MH-47 or something . 'Tis a great chopper . Cheers Mr B

    Idea for getting larger playing space...

    You can make it so that a new mission would load when you fly off. It would be just like that mission in the CWC campaign with the A-10s. So, you'd fly off of say, Everon, and a new mission would load with you in Malden. I'm not quite sure how you do this, but you use the merge button to merge two missions and then triggers that end the mission when you fly off, so the next mission will start. I don't think you can link them in a circle though, so once you fly off the map, you can't go back . You could try though . Cheers Mr B

    Best bhd map?

    I've seen a few Somalia / Blackhawk Down maps out there, and I was wondering which is best? I would consider "best" as being: 1) Little / no lag 2) Looks good 3) Fairly authentic (not exactly, it's not like I'll know the difference ) but if you think it's the best for other reasons, that's fine too .     Tactics and orders help

    Bah, pay no attention to these cautious methods  . Have your two MG gunners go prone and let 'em rip (try to place them in a bush though, for safety). They have a range of about 500 metres, so 200 shouldn't be a problem. They're pretty accurate too. While they're doing their thing, get down on your knees and CRAWL!  Throw some grenades when in range (remember, grenade range is decreased when prone). Alternatively, get a machine gun from one of your men and provide suppressing fire yourself  . Mr B can't waste time when he wants to get his OFP fix  . (Let's not forget, at 200m your men are under fire already. You won't have much time to give orders before you get picked off. Your best defence is a good offense .)
