KeyCat 131 Posted December 16, 2002 I've had OFP+OFP:R since the day they where available and played quite a few mission (mainly MP) over time. No doubt about it, OFP have come a long loong way since version 1.00. Since the MP part started to shape up really nice with Resistance I just now started out with scripting and I'm impressed by the possibilities that gives! A very few other products have given me this much pleasure for the money - I can only think of one... Falcon 4 - and I'm sure I will enjoy OFP for years to come (or til OFP 2 arrives). Just wanted to say how much I appreciate all the hard work done by BIS and hope you will continue to improve it in some way or another! Edit: Forgott to also say THANKS to all the addon/map/mod/script makers that makes OFP even better. Nampack 2.0 is a masterpiece as many others! Thanks and Merry Christmas /Christer (a.k.a KeyCat)

PiNs_Da_Smoka 0 Posted December 16, 2002 Well, its about pig-stinkin time someone praised BIS instead of the old "this isn't real enough" - "they should add this feature or else i'll never play it again" and my favorite "i'm a whiny bitch because i think eveything should play the way i want it to, if not, i'll tell...." Keep it coming

Tex -USMC- 0 Posted December 17, 2002 Still aint real enough. Sorry BIS, but that is the shitty aspect of creating an excellent product- we suddenly start expecting a whole hell of alot more of you. That being said, good job, but I hope to God that you guys are well on your way with OFP2 or Independence Lost, or even if you said you were working on a whole new engine for the sequel I'd be happy. ufo_hk 1 Posted December 17, 2002 Keycat - same here re Falcon4 and OFP, now if only we could get the two "sims" to interact....... :-) Bot sims show what can be achieved if developers pass allow the community to support it in a controlled manner.

Balschoiw 0 Posted December 17, 2002 OFP since the first demo and still on the comp. Best Editor and freedom ever ! Everytime I am out in the fields I estimate distances and angles on moving targets for the LAW and RPG launcher Thx for the game and a happy christmas time BIS. I am still searching for a little time-gap to visit you in Prague.

I agree that several things could still be improved... Physics is one, another is the 3D models of soldiers with it's ugly hands/arms. Better support for multiplayer in scripting and so on... But still OFP is the best one we got for simulating combined armed forces and the editor along with scripting is very powerfull tools! I haven't found any other game/sim out there that gives me the same possibilites, the same freedom and last the same sense of immersion while playing multiplayer with some good friends. Thats why I hope BIS continue to improve it and I will be happy to keep on supporting them with my money if they continue to show the same kind of dedication in future products. /Christer (a.k.a KeyCat)

In Falcon 4's case Hasbro/MPS leaved it in a really bad shape with plain 1.08 and Falcon 4 would be long gone from my hard drive if it wasn't for the RPx and SPx patches done by the community. I'm pretty sure I will never buy anything from Hasbro/MPS again. /Christer (a.k.a KeyCat)
Tz0rcelan 0 Posted December 17, 2002 Yes praise bis, i am a n00b Missioncreator and i must say i really love the advance scripting language, without it there would be no chance for me to complete my multiplayer mission i am working on now. (It's called The Criminals, two players are "the criminals" they have several mission's to do, like steal money from houses and rob banks. The other team is the police, they have to catch the criminals as fast as they can, they have a observer chopper, a tank (after 30 minutes) and also there are "weapon shops" where the criminals can purchase weapons and ammo for thier hard earned money ... ) Thats what i like with the scripting language.. you can create very advanced missions.. BTW my mission is 10 % done.. ur welcome to play it when it's done  (i will post it on the forum) Greetings to all mod makers, mission creators, scripters, addon makers and EVERYONE in the  OFP community. Thx again BIS for a game that i will play for many years (no joke) ah now i gotta get back, to my mission

eXor 0 Posted December 17, 2002 yeah Falcon 4 is like that minus the soldiers You guys ever tried a Force on Force TE mission? It's just a blank TE that has objectives and ground troops but no premade flights. So you make flights and move ground troops waypoints around and try and win the war. Best fun I've had online. Too bad the multiplayer is buggy. I can't wait for LO:MAC to be released next spring!! The ultimate sim would be LOMAC's graphics/3D models/terrain, Falcon 4's excellent dynamic campaign engine/Avionics, IL-2s netcode and OFPs infantry. If I had the free time I'd try and code such a beast but alas I can only dream and wait for the Holy Grail. http://www.lo-mac.com http://f4ut.frugalsworld.com
HellToupee 0 Posted December 17, 2002 yea falcon 4 was nice but it was far too time consuming had like 1000 keybaord shortcuts and took me 30mins to learn how to drop a bomb and got told off for being 30seocnds early to obj once, falcon 4s audience is much smaller than ofp, if ofp had that level of realism i reckon much less ppl would play ofp due to having to know tooo much, falcon 4s manual was very very thick. HellToupee 0 Posted December 17, 2002 realistic gameplay is fun but there comes a point where too much realism really sucks, for ultimate realism go out side
