Space shuttle launch

Recommended Posts

Got it to work. Had to download Windows Media Player 9 beta (I know I'm asking for trouble by downloading a Microsoft beta:P) but at least it looks like I got here in the nick of time smile.gif

Worked beutifully here Damn this is pretty awesome. I wish they had a feed like this on the ISS.

*edit* so you guys know, I had a lot of buffering issues on the 100k feed as soon as I got it working, so I dropped back to the 56k feed. Still decent quality, and no buffering problems whatsoever.

Exactly the reason why one shouldnt go around telling people to come watch things like this, they ran out of bandwidth and it started stuttering for everyone tounge.gif

Luckily the 56kbps stream worked fine, I had both the 100 and 56 open hehe tounge.gif

I watched it on cable... TV! biggrin.gif

Quite possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen on TV. We had the surround sound turned on, so when the fired up those engines *WHOOOOOOOOOOSH*

It was great.

Then the shockwaves during the ascent. I was loving it.

You guys should get NASA TV. smile.gif

English: Astronaut

Russian: Kosmonaut

French: Spationaute

German: Astronaut

Greek: Kosmonaftis/Astronaftis

smile.gif

All three variations are valid, but it is interesting to see their origin. Astronaut are derived from astro, astris f., which is Latin for star. Kosmonaut, on the other hand, is derived from the Greek Kosmos, which can mean both world and space. Spatio is the french word for Space, derived from Latin again smile.gif
