Singleplayer maybe your wished 40FPS in scenes without action, with action i would say 20-25FPS, not more. In Multiplayer even 10Frames less than in SP mode. I think the mid 20 frames you will rolling with ;)

I think you can get more than 40 FPS but everything depends on how many AIs you have active on the map. Also if you lower object distance and maybe disable Antialiasing then I think that you will get over 40 FPS.

But dont forget that there are no real tweakable settings, thats mostly placebos without effect. The problem is BI´s old Engine which doesnt get updated since release. I have 2x770GTX with 4Gb Vram each card in my System and i am not able to get instantly 40 FPS on Very high, thats just a reminder that the engine of Arma dont gives a fuck how good your pc is.

Btw: setting down AA will decrease your GPU-Utilization which should have the effect of even lower frames ;)

you will get very good framerates with your system. "Only" exceptions are most mp-servers and scenarios with more than 80 active ai´s like nikoforos said. The best tweaking parameter in low-ai-scenarios is object distance. With GTX770 upwards you can push all antialiasing because this game is mostly cpu-limited.

You will get better performance with an old GTX580 and a haswell @ 4,7GHZ than a GTX780ti and a haswell @3GHZ or similar cpu-power. But it depends on the game scenario (mp/sp/amount of ai/in a city/in the wooden area etc).

Your hardware is great, except the GFX. This GFX wasnt the best choice, it slows down your entire system. I would suggest you following:

1: buy a better GFX, at least something like GTX770 or the new GTX970

2: if possible then get your money back

3: slap the person which sell you this pc ^^

I think i understand "dies & das" very good especially Benchmarking and the whole shit. Today i get delivered 4 980GTX (new Customer PC i should build) i hope that i can find time to set QuadSli for a couple of benches :d Depends on the customer, when he shows up too late i could run a few tests *fingers crossed* ^^

hm... so i have seen of the specs from other players and so on so here are my specs:

Processor: AMD AM3+ 8x 4.0 GHz

MOBO: ASRock 970 Extreem

RAM: 16GB (acctually 32 but i was stupid with buying my OS)

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

GPU: Gigabite Radeon 7850 2 GB

Networkac: 700 watt (still form my old PC didn't had the money for a new one >.>)

screen: Toshiba 40" 3D LED TV

sooooo..... is it either that i have a PCIe-3 GPU on a PCIe-2 MOBO (another mistake i made xD) or is it something else that make's my game stick on low - normal on 30 FPS? high = +/- 20 FPS, Very High = +/- 5 FPS

This is usual i would say. How many Hz does your TV deliver, cause when you TV runs with FullHD @ 30 Hz then you find the problem :)

Im more than happy to say im upgrading my specs(mainly for arma cpu hungriness).

Hoping someone might tell me what i can expect with the new cpu i hope to get soon.And how it compares to my last.

Curently im using an AMD phenom x4 955, along with a gtx650ti boost.

Im looking to get the intel i 74770, Keeping current gpu.

NEW mother board/system also,Though not sure yet which.

You will gain a couple frames for sure but Arma players know: dont expect wonders like 20 frames more, i would say 5-7 frames more, depending on situations of course.

oh.....i assume you´re new in arma-series....arma3 is cpu-limited. More highend gpu´s will only reduce gpu-usage. I think thats verified 1000000 times in this forum. Hmmmh seems you have overseen this.

This game is cpu "disabled" in my eyes, only need to look how "special" the cpu utilization is when the game is running (2 cores do something, the other 6 prefer a picknick)
