Women in uniform

Recommended Posts

what ofp really lacks are females in uniform (not rags and leather or pvc outfits).. there seem to be some nice models released with resistance.. though they're civilians.

is anyone upto actually making an addon with female troops with proper military uniforms? some military forces do actually have females in real life.. and they don't dress like lara croft or some b-grade porn actress.

the female models from resistance look very funny if you give them a gun in the hands. they also sound very funny, like a kind of transvestites tounge.gif

The main problem is that there are no female voices to go along with the female models, female model with male voice is just silly, ideally we could do with finding a female with the right voice to record the necessary commands that would be ideal, either way there is definitely a call for female models as far as I'm concerned smile.gif

Moving to A&M as there's more chance of it happening there than from Bis smile.gif

Actually in Resistance there are some "female" voices. They seem to be nothing else but high-pitched male voices which sound a bit like the Chipmunks wink.gif. Kinda kills the immersion, don't ya think?

You can try it out in the editor by grouping some civvie females to your group.

Those voices are scary when they shout at you, really need some authentic ones.

Yep...game definitely needs female soldiers, with proper voices.

Maybe this could be done in a future patch?

Since BIS added female faces in the player setup screen, it is reasonable that they should include a couple of female voices (East and West).

Can't the original Angelina model be used somehow? I know that it's not available in the editor but maybe a clever addon maker could add it somehow? Surely can't be that hard if it's already in the game? That was a far more realistic looking female than the new 'manly' Res ones, and with a retexture could be made to look like a woman officer.

I think this is heading off topic now.. angelina is a bad example

the point I was initially getting at was to use an everyday looking female in military uniform, kind of like the opposite of your basic soldier. not a busty catwalk model. the average male soldier doesn't look like arnold schwarzenegger now!?

the resistance civilian models look quite good in my opinion, given the right uniform and helmets it could be perfectly standard and an alternative to using a male soldier.

as an idea a male body model could even be used.. widen the hips a bit, narrow the shoulders and waist a bit, add a slight bust then put the right head on the body and bob's your woman.. err uncle tounge.gif

but anyway, this is left in the hands of those clever addon makers.. or BIS (which I highly doubt would be interested). I do hope someone takes interest in this idea..

Well, you have to consider that women were not allowed in the combat units of many a nations armed forces back in the early to mid eighties. Even today, women are barred from entering into any combat role in the U.S. Army. So it would be unrealistic to see U.S. women fighting in Uniform.

Though, I can't see why we shouldn't make women for the Resistance forces.

it seems to me that i saw a pic of a female swede on patrol in kosovo, ak5/m203 and all. we could definately use some female soldier models, and pilot models as well.

we could use some civilian kiddie models for variety as well

One thing

Women are barred from Combat in many western nations but

a) Not on the Soviet side

b) Not from serving in a combat zone (Afghanistan for a recent example)

c) Not from serving in a combat support unit in a combat zone (the RMP det, ISAF, Kabul for a recent example)

There are Female medics, truck Drivers (Sorry, "Royal Logistical Corp combat support personnel" smile.gif ) and Military policewomen (armed as well I might add).

If they're armed, and attacked they aren't going to go "Sorry, can't shoot back, I'm banned"

If you've ever been to RAF Kinloss, have you noticed that its nearly always women on guard duties.  So i'm pretty sure there are women in the military, and seen ofp's a military sim, I think they need better voices

Yo! All

It is fact that the Canadian Armed Forces had a female leader of the Reconnaisance Coyotes in Afghanistan. Apparently they did very well.(She looked to mean business, dam pretty I think if she woulda smiled.Wish I could remember her name).

From the footage I saw they were ready to take anything but a modern tank.  Hmmm...New addon weapon?

When it comes to war gaming I have been lucky enough to fly and fight with some excellent female players in Rogue Spear and  Janes F/A-18. Always a different point of view and a hoot to game with. Give em some uni's and get them IN THE GAME!smile.gif

Coyote Recon...Ya did us proud!

Where have you seen women in Soviet forces ? They are NOT allowed to serve because we don't have contract service. Yes they can only be a nurse but not holding a gun (AK74) and pointing it on the enemy bunker. Yes women serve in the police but not in the ARMY.

not historically. Women served extensively in the Red Army during WW2

Um, even if there aren't women in certain Armies, there should still be female models for multiplay, for female (or even male) players who want to be a female soldier...
