Aragon-iPGN- 0 Posted September 27, 2002 I hope no one has already posted this, but I'd just like to say thankyou, thankyou 1000 times. I loaded up the All Seeing Eye and it downloaded one of its auto updates..... and I found that Resitance now fully works with it. THANKS!!!
Placebo 29 Posted September 27, 2002 And to think all those people whined and tried to make out it was because of some backhander from GameSpy, shame on them

You don't see ads for OFP anywhere on mainstream gaming sites, and then Gamespy has them, gives OFP an award, and then suddenly OFP:R doesn't work with Ganespy's principle competing software? Even if it's not accurate, I can see this as a very possible scenario in today's industry. Not that Im not happy that ASE works now

We had enough bullshit with the 3d Rat moron without forum users trying to besmirch Bis' name as well.
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted September 27, 2002 Its not BIS we think the worst of, its gamespy.
Placebo 29 Posted September 27, 2002 People said Bis had taken a backhander, how is that not thinking the worst of Bis? Gamespy giving someone a backhander, anyone think that's totally impossible? Nope I think it's possible, Bis accepting a backhander, that I just cannot believe, call me a biased-Bis-bum-licking-fan-boy if you wish but I have great respect for Bis and can't see that changing for now
ralphwiggum 6 Posted September 27, 2002 hoah!! let's cool down. now OFPR is supported ASE and let's just celebrate!
suchey 0 Posted September 27, 2002 It also said that "Full Support" for the 'All Seeing Eye' would be provided by the up-coming patch. Good news for sure. Hopefully this is indication that the patch is soon to come!
tlx 0 Posted September 27, 2002 I'm happy that they finally added the previously self-made filters to ASE. This fixes the problem of nuking the filters when updating. Anyway i don't think *any* other effort was made to open the master server to ASE since it reports 38 servers right now, while the in-game browser shows 98! Not really a change... This sort of shit goes on all the time, it's called a marketing deal. Lifting BIS up on a pedestal isn't going to make everything better. Yes, I love their game. No, they aren't perfect. Yes, I would have kept buying their products even IF they had had a deal with Gamespy- at the time I thought it would have been a pretty ingenious way to get around Codemasters chronic inability to advertise OFP. So chill Placebo, I'm not insulting your mother, I'm just restating that it was not at all an incredibly unreasonable assumption. I'm glad it turned out to be false, but that doesn't mean things like it don't happen all the time.
Placebo 29 Posted September 28, 2002 I just take great delight in certain people who speak from their rectals being proven wrong, time and time again But yes as Ralph so wisely and moderater'ly said (unlike I ) tis a time to celebrate not besmudge

We are not aware what the problem with Resistance and ASE is and we did not implement anything to prevent Resistance working with ASE.
