    Thankyou codemasters/bis/ase

I'm happy that they finally added the previously self-made filters to ASE. This fixes the problem of nuking the filters when updating. Anyway i don't think *any* other effort was made to open the master server to ASE since it reports 38 servers right now, while the in-game browser shows 98! Not really a change...

    Ase fix for ofp:resistance

Shorty, please read the whole thread then. Hardly any available servers show up by doing this. Cheers

    Ase fix for ofp:resistance

Here's the reply from the ASE programmer JK: "OFP:R uses gamespy's proprietary master server which we have no access to. That's why you only see a couple of servers on the list (the ones you see are probably recently upgraded OFP servers and they too will drop off the list when the servers are taken down or the scanner is restarted)." Suma, as you claim you did not change anything please help to clear this thing out. http://www.udpsoft.com/forum....tart=20

Ed, thanks for your ASE filter summary. We dealt with that on another thread. The deal is the ingame browser is listing far more servers than ASE does. Cheers

    Ase fix for ofp:resistance

Suma, do you have any idea why the custom made filters for ASE with gamename "opflashr" just show a few servers then, while the ingame browser shows a lot more servers? I'd be glad if this hassle could be solved with your return :-) Thanks.

    Ase fix for ofp:resistance

According to another thread on the ASE forums this also happened to "Americas Army" filters/games. This brings up the thought that all that is blocked by intention. I feel sad as a long time registered ASE user. What's next? My key beeing rendered worthless because i'd like to have my favorite game supported and JK wanting his code to be integrated by the developers? http://www.udpsoft.com/forum/topic.cgi?forum=1&topic=790

    Public master server for ofp:r

Kabukiman, k i see the point. The ingame browser shows more servers. Some servers are shown in ASE and ingame and quite a few are only shown by the ingame browser.

    Public master server for ofp:r

Cheers Dragon, i'd also appreciate direct ASE server support by BIS. No doubt UDPSoft provides the best game browser up to date. What many of you are missing is the fact that the developer of ASE made a statement that he won't/can't support OFP:R due to the non public server concept. *This has proven to be wrong*. Obviously BIS changed the game name to be announced to the master server from "opflash" to "opflashr". This seems to be the reason why ASE standard OFP filters can't find any OFP:R dedicated servers. If you set up a filter with this new string as a query *you will find OFP:R servers*. From all the posts here i get the impression that everyone thinks it's not possible to use ASE for OFP:R which is true for the current filters, but not by program design either of BIS or UDPSoft. It'd be no problem for the ASE developers to fix this with the next update. I'm getting the impression that UDPSoft and the veteran players want to force BIS to include ASE SDK code. As said i'd also appreciate that *BUT* _what is wrong_ if it worked as before with an upcoming ASE update. If you'd like to - i may provide the correct "filters.txt" to be hosted on some webserver so everyone can download it and see that there's really a good chance that this will be included in the next ASE update.

    Public master server for ofp:r

Hello. I think none of you did catch the solution Hees offered on the udp forum. There's a post by me some pages ago with a link to a *working filter* for ASE to list OFP:R games. If you also apply a custom config including the FlashpointResistance.exe you may FIND Games and PLAY fine... Only thing needed is this filter making it to the next ASE update.... Over. http://www.udpsoft.com/forum/topic.cgi?forum=1&topic=762

    Public master server for ofp:r

It seems to be possible to filter OFP:R with ASE! Credits go to Hees for a raw filter: http://www.udpsoft.com/forum/topic.cgi?forum=1&topic=762
  14. I requested support for OFP:R at www.udpsoft.com, makers of the great "All Seeing Eye" which i used for all OFP releases until OFP:R. With the latest update of ASE they posted a statement that they won't support any master server not publically available/to be queried. Why did you decide to change the master server concept? I'd be glad if 3rd party tools would still work with it. I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but the forum and *searches* are virtually unusable again.
