IndeedPete 1038 Posted November 27, 2015 Thanks, people! @Red Partisan: I believe there are 2035s Russian Armed Forces already, saw a thread here somewhere. I'm not really thrilled to model any real world factions anyway. There are people who are much better in re-creating existing forces. I think I'll stick to fiction. Moon_chilD 200 Posted November 27, 2015 I know it could potentially fall under the CSAT you've created, but have you considered making 2030 Russian troops? Of course it'd probably require other addons (AK-12, possibly equipment), but I would love to see your take on them alongside your CSAT and EU. Has just recently been updated: https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/185667-2035-russian-armed-forces/
IndeedPete 1038 Posted November 29, 2015 I went through the other BLUFOR tanks and helos over the last days. Mostly upgraded the textures with the metal effect, but also spraypainted the tanks. Revised the air navy pattern from different shades of blue to grey-blue, seems more realistic and useful. And I've added a sand version for all BLUFOR helos.
flv*venom* 83 Posted December 1, 2015 now ähhh how do I put this... I love the new Infantry camo, it looks like you said much more natural. but the vehicles, this spraypaint looks a bit like they were sent to their AO in a hurry, like you would paint your rifle if you were an SF operator. with tanks and such alike I don't know if this is how they would be painted. I mean, I am sure that this comment is premature as I haven't seen all vehicles in the field. So let's see. Still, absolutely loving your work and actually I'm working on a mission where you're part of a Spetznaz team in Finnland, combating the drone loving Eufor troops in 2033. IndeedPete 1038 Posted December 2, 2015 Yes, I see your point and I'm sometimes thinking the same. It does look better in the field than the previous one but I'm also not fully satisfied yet. I'm a fan of the Swedish M90 as a vehicle scheme but I don't have a good sample yet. Might even have to do one myself.
IndeedPete 1038 Posted December 2, 2015 Nevermind my last post, I found a decent sample of a splinter camo. Separated the layers and had to anti-aliase a lot, hence it looks a but soft close up. But nontheless, I think I like it. Also moved the shield icon, so it does not interfere with clan insignias anymore. What do you think?
Moon_chilD 200 Posted December 2, 2015 Man it sounds like I always say that and whatever you do but: This looks very cool. As much as I liked the plainish color of the old new version I like this one because it kinda fits the factions uniform. It still looks like "real" paint is applied to the vehicle what I really appreciate (I mean I already told you that xD)

IndeedPete 1038 Posted December 2, 2015 Yes, I think I'm in love as well. Aw yiss, mudafakin splinters!
IndeedPete 1038 Posted December 9, 2015 Updates here! It brings in fancy reworked ground, air, and sea vehicle textures. Also added helicopters in Sand Triangle scheme. Unfortunately, despite my efforts to remove old and unused files from the download, the newer and more detailed textures seem to eat up significantly more space so the download grew by a bit more than 100MB. Anyway, a few staged pictures and links below. EUROFORCE Version: 1.19Features Re-Textures of most NATO and AAF vehicles and infantry, including weapons, vests, headgear and backpacks. Altis, Black, Desert, Navy, Snow and Woodland Hex schemes. Altis, Desert, Snow and Woodland conventional forces. Altis, Black, Desert, Snow and Woodland special forces (the "Wolfpack"). Navy Military Police (MP) with custom units and vest. Fixed-wings in Light Grey and Navy Triangle pattern. Helicopters in Black, Green, Sand and Navy Triangle pattern. Ground vehicles in Altis, Desert, Navy, Snow and Woodland Splinter schemes. Ships in Navy Cloud scheme. Custom rank insignias / fictional rank system. (Loosely based on Mass Effect's Systems Alliance, additional emblems for Techs and Medics.) Country flag insignias for all 28 current EU states plus extra flags for England, Scotland, Wales, Norway, Iceland, Bosnia And Herzegovina, Serbia, Albania, Montenegro and FYROM. A mini showcase campaign. Nothing fancy, just five straight forward missions around the redeployment on Altis roughly two months after the events in M.E.R.C.S. ACE3, Zeus and Alive support. Changelog 1.19 - 09.12.2015 FIXED: Engineer (Snow) had undefined weapon. CHANGED: Reworked all vehicle textures again. Added metal effect, revised ground vehicle pattern to three colour splinter. ADDED: Helicopters in Sand scheme. DownloadDropbox v1.19Steam Workshop v1.19

IndeedPete 1038 Posted December 15, 2015 Morning! Since the vehicle camos reached a more or less satisfactory level, I decided to try and broaden the range of infantry camos as well. Aside from the good old Hex, I've experimented with some existing camos like Multicam, Flecktarn, and the already used Splinter and made upgraded versions of them. There's still a lot of config work and adjusting to do but I like my new Digitalised Flecktarn (like German Flecktarn, just in pixels, Altis version is quite close to AAF camo), Crystal (digitalised and feathered Multicam with really small, crystal-like pixels), and four colour Splinter (a bit old school compared to the others). Digitalised Flecktarn and Crystal have been developed for the Wolfpack Special Operations Group (which will receive a thorough config update) and Splinter fits the regulars quite well. Anyway, some shots of new Wolfpack operators patrolling in Zaros. Four colour Crystal on the uniform and three colour digi on vest, headgear, and rifle. Five colour Digitalised Flecktarn morphed to Altis colours on the right, Altis Crystal on the left with a new tactical vest in three colour digi. Altis Crystal with heavy vest in three colour digi. Group photo. ;) Operator wearing Digitalised Flecktarn with the new MK200 TWS in service. JTAC operator in Crystal. Recon Assassin team providing cover. Operators regroup at the football field. And last but not least, a regular sharpshooter in four colour Splinter. Shots of the other colour schemes will follow soo. Opinions?

HeroesandvillainsOS 1504 Posted December 15, 2015 Hi IndeedPete! Thank you so much for this! The quality here is remarkable. Sorry for the stupid question (you've been super nice about my stupid questions in the past which is why I feel comfortable asking. Thank you for that), but could you tell me how I can set the OPFOR in my missions to only equip gear of yours, such as the snow gear and nothing else? I'm making a mission template in the editor using Spookwarcom (and his new snow module :) ) and ALiVE on Chernerus Winter and Thirsk Winter. Basically, I'd like to make it so in these winter missions the enemies only pull from your winter gear. Is that possible to achieve in the editor? I see this is at least ALiVE compatible. I'm just unsure how to get the result I'm looking for. Is it just as simple as placing your classnames in the faction override lines in the ALiVE modules themselves? flv*venom* 83 Posted December 15, 2015 freakin' awesome! If I were the EU defence minister, I'd accept them all into service right now! Oh and btw, I just recently found your "insomnia" mission pack, love it. Currently I'm trying to replace the NATO troops with your EUFORCE units :) in the distant future, do you think you could revisit this early work of yours? :) p.s.: I know, that this must be annoying, since I asked about giving the units unique helmets some time ago and I was totaly happy with the solid colour variants. Well that was until I saw seei Wolfpacks camouflaged ones. Do think, that the regulars could receive something like that too?
IndeedPete 1038 Posted December 15, 2015 Thank you, people! @HeroesandvillainsOS: Yes, the group config is made to work with ALIVE. Unfortunately, ALIVE filters by the factionClass attribute which is the same for all EF units. If I wanted to make it fully compatible, I'd have to divide EUROFORCE into separate factions. However, there might be a workaround using ALIVE's blacklist functionality: http://alivemod.com/wiki/index.php/Custom_Blacklists I can't really go further into details right now because I had a few at my department's Christmas party. :) Moon_chilD however was looking into the same thing. Maybe he made some progress already. @flv*venom*: I was thinking about replacing the single-colour vest + headgear with different colour(s) to further diversify them from the vanilla NATO. Not sure yet. First I will port the new camos onto the other uniforms and soft headgear. Plus, I think of mixing different camos in the SF uniforms to make them more individual. And then I finally took on UI icons. Missed them before because of severe cases of lazyness. Not as good as the originals but enough to quickly distinct them in the Arsenal
Moon_chilD 200 Posted December 16, 2015 @IndeedPete @HeroesandvillainsOS: Not really yet. Still have some other concerns right now mission wise. Basically what Pete posted is the key, I just have to see what and where I have to put these blacklists. If I have soemthing - and I don't forget it ;3 - I'll post it here!
IndeedPete 1038 Posted December 16, 2015 Alright then. As announced, a quick overview over all new patterns in all colour schemes, starting with Splinter: And now Altis Crystal and Digitalised Flecktarn: Desert Crystal and Digitalised Flecktarn, where the Flecktarn colours and basic pattern were taken from Bundeswehr Tropentarn and Crystal was refined with some white: Snow Crystal and Digitalised Flecktarn. Pattern for Flecktarn was again taken from Bundeswehr Tropentarn, the colours have been taken from Finnish M05 snow camo resulting in a greener uniform overall. This is also amplified by using green protectors and boots instead of grey ones: And finally, Woodland Crystal and Digitalised Flecktarn. Contrary to the Hex Woodland scheme, Crystal was refined with some sand colour, making its colour palette closer to M81 US Woodland. Flecktarn uses the original Bundeswehr colours:

IndeedPete 1038 Posted December 23, 2015 Small report. I've been photoshopping my way around UI icons for simplified use of the Arsenal and inventory. Unfortuantely, I haven't found a way to procedurally generate these as screenshots, hence I had to edit the existing ones. It's not that pretty but it does the trick: And I chose to revise the Marksmen weapons' snow camo schemes. Less cow, more spraypaint and digi:
IndeedPete 1038 Posted January 6, 2016 Hey there! Now's a good time for the first dev report in 2016. Some might have stumbled across my slightly girly photo story the other day. In order to establish this as good practice in this male-dominated community and because I love to spam pictures, I'd like to combine this report with Pete's Fashion Show. So, take a seat, grab some champagne and caviar and let's look at the recent developments. I've been experimenting with individualised soldier gear. My previous re-textures were quite generic, made to fit larger forces. This side project I conducted over Christmas isn't really worth its own addon, though I might incoporate some of it into M.E.R.C.S. one day as the characters match the ones used there. I've been trying to improve and sometimes also fix my good old templates with the ultimate goal of creating more diversified gear. Therefore, I refined the selections and experimented with new materials, such as a nano fabric sample. For development purposes I created this lovely quartette of ruthless mercenary bastards, some might recognise their faces. Anyhow, let's start with a group photo on the dirt road catwalk. First fine lad is the commander of this pack, ION Executive Ian McMillian, wearing custom combat fatigues with a cute top in classic British DPM (with black interior), trendy Multicam pants with black protectors, khaki leather boots, and fancy tactical glasses. His plate carrier features vanilla snake optic complemented with a name plate, khaki-coloured buckles, and a customised radio in a tan frame with a both beautiful and friendly looking sticker on it. Next to the customised Katiba GL, the major eye catchers are his designer gloves from CMMG in tan, with black protectors and khaki-coloured leather on the inside. The next image shows our Executive with his first officer, a famous model from the Balkans who is wearing greenish pants in used look and a custom, black plate carrier with nano fabric cover and attached CMMG pockets in classic US Woodland camouflage. He loosened up his outfit with a cheeky smiley drawing on the large back pocket. The XO's outfit is finished up with custom mittens compiled from black and green fabric as well as tan coloured leather on the inside. This scene shows the XO in the woods giving stay-low-commands to another merc. His custom-made HK MX features a tan-coloured buttstock, grip, and foregrip. Another picture features the third mercenary, a grumpy German ex-KSK model. His outfit combines the two versions of the German classic Flecktarn in dry and woodland schemes. Mr. KSK also picked the quality gloves from CMMG in khaki with tan-coloured protectors. His weapon of choice is Toadie's HK AG36 with the 6.5mm expansion kit and thermal optics. The last one in this group is Scout, a fast, light-weight recon operator. His outfit combines five different camo schemes. Starting with his pants in Crystal Woodland, over a custom made t-shirt in Italian Vegetato woodland camo, his carrier rig in US MARPAT, to his booniehat in Italian Vegetato desert, and finishing off with his custom Mk18 ARB painted in a Chinese vehicle pattern. And the XO and scout enjoying the sun somewhere around Kavala. One can see the custom CMMG pockets on the XO's plate carrier. Plus he seems to be a fan of a famous cat franchise. :D Finally, the two lads without gear, showing off their fancy shirts. And now for the question of the day: how will any of this nonsense contribute to the existing addons? Simple, I've made custom gloves and reworked plate carrier and helmets for the EF units. Also the colours of the single-coloured vests have been revised to match the rest of the gear. Since the Europeans can't afford fancy CMMG gloves, they used no-name products instead and sewed their flag onto them. :D I still need to fix some details but a release should be feasible this week. Stay tuned! :)
