I must say that I am very very impressed by this addon. The textures are amazing. This is definitely a BIS quality addon, perhaps even better.

Yep it's his best to date IMO. Textures are superb. Being inside and looking around is like being in a real one!

Two problems I have noticed:

-it's WAY too fast

-boarded soldiers guns stick out through the bodywork (this can't really be helped though if the dimensions are to remain accurate)

Overall a very good quality addon indeed.

True, most guns have been made already. But some new soldier models, a la the HK pack, would be great. I'm tired of the same model retextured

Why do some folks always complain about cars?

I think it's Mehanic's decision to make cars, and so noone can do a thing about it! And there ARE obviously guys (including me) who want to have new cars, so pleeeze stop complaining, cuz there's nothing you can do about it!

But I'm sure, that this has been discussed often enough in earlier times

I think any good addon is good for this game.

Ok alot of cars are being made ( and i think that s nice ).

I think we saw the same discussion when all the planes were being made ( i was opposed to them then ).

I just think it looks like so many cars are being released cause mechanic is working so damn fast Wonder what method he uses ( hint hint ).

Besides we just got the awesome HKPack ! How can you be already tired with that one ? I myself simply love the KSK Trophenthing ( sry hehe, forgot right cammoname ) and all the east types look like bad bad men perfect for opposition

I'm not privvy to all these european cars, but they certainly look very well done. I Shall download, and hope that I get my student loan. I dont know if these new addons or my new geforce 4 will make me grovel more.

The only thing I miss is a bit better damage model (breakable windows).

Mehanic: It is not very difficult to implement. In the resolution LODs you define the named selections sklo (predni, zadni, L, P) for the glass. You then just need to put them in the hit-points LOD too. Finally you just define the damage texture replacements in the cpp.

Put it this way; In the context of OFP, they're far more likely to be seen than a shitload of Ferraris, Porsches, Aston-Martins, etc. In fact these vehicles really wouldn't go amiss packaged in different colours. A city street scene, a convoy of refugees making it difficult for AFVs to move. Bog standard cars or vans could do a lot to enhance the atmosphere of a mission, but it would be hard to generate that same effect if the "Refugee" is driving a vehicle which costs more than your average squaddy is likely to see in 15 years.

The van gets a 0-100Km/h of 3.84s

400m results (1/4 mile) 11.88s @ 164Km/h

This is about the acceleration of a McLaren F1 or Denoirs Koenigsegg CC.

The design is great, the physics are a joke.

personally i think that the game need more cold war era east european vehicles, far more appropriate to the game than low production race cars.

alot of those old skodas and ladas and such are pretty cool looking, and less out of place on nogova than a maclaren f-1

we could also use an old VW bug and van.

Just tried the van, it looks great but i agree its speed is just way out there. Maybe its because its using rocket fuel. Drive around one of the islands for about 2 or 3 minutes and notice how fast you lose fuel.
