i have been thinking of including them, Also with the sub-munition paramaters i'm pretty sure i can add canister rounds to the Abrams now :p

Oh and you can now change the vision modes on the commanders/Loaders monitors in the challenger

I'm working on making the commanders computer interactive a la perals A-10.

EDIT - Commander can now have the option to turn out and fire from vehicle.

If it is the current South African MBT I would definately be interested in doing it. I really want to get decent MBT's out there for as many countries as possible. I have many vehicles to do so cant give an ETA on it though, and if I were to use your model I would credit you regardless lol. :p

Wow, Great news! I Understand and have no problem with that, It is the latest and greatest S.A. has to offer, my version includes some new additions, fitting for a 2035 battlefield, but peal away the modular ERA, LEDS-150 and the SLAT and you have yourself the Olifant(Elephant) MK2(as it stands in reserve) It is totally up to you in which configuration you would like it, it matters not to me. I would like to get in touch, to share it via Drop-box or G-Drive.

Everything included may be used by you as you see fit. Thank you for your consideration.

Loving the direction this is going in. Being able to use binos as commander is a brilliant idea!

I don't know if this would be possible but it would be awesome if you could implement the smokescreen functionality of the Challenger 2 where it can lay a smoke screen by injecting diesel into the exhausts?

Ok, so first of all I'd like to say, thank you for your effort. Tanks with 3D modeled interior is all I've been waiting for.

-Abrams and Challenger loaders are able to do "owl head turn". They are controling the gun even if they are not looking at the screen. Stuff works correct on Abrams commander ( hold Alt to look around the turret)

- Even when M1A2 commanders hatch is closed, at night time when shooting from M2 we can see gun flashes inside. Same with M240.

Is there any way to make that commanders periscopes will look like driver ones?

Driver's scope isn't a combat scope therefore I don't think that will work. It's just a basic viewing system for the driver to see where he's going. If PIP was used the image wouldn't be real time, it'll have a stutter like the commanders PIP view ports and wouldn't allow for the smooth operation of the tank.

So with this in mind the PIP is not even remotely usable, which is why the current view is used seeing as it would only hinder, not serve a purpose.

The problem with this Owl Head Turn, is that the AI does that mostly anyway, you wouldn't notice a difference I would imagine in the capabilities of the tank itself. I wouldn't even know if that sort of system would be doable within ArmA 3. But you can always see what Burnes says about it.

1. yeah engine limitation. controlling a turret controls the characters head. don't worry about it.

2. engine limitation.

3. yeah it's nigh on impossible to drive with pip sorry. direct view is the only way to go there so it was a choice between the shittiest driving experience you've ever had or have direct viewports and sort of make them look like periscopes. I think we went the right way on it.

As for the commanders persicopes i've explained this so many times now if you randomly pick a page on this thread you will probably hit on that question being asked again...

Version 4 of the Challenger 2 is now available.

This video will explain the changes and limitations of the new version

I highly recommend watching as i've included instructions on how to use everything too.

Changelog -

Improved the interiors

Added WP Ammo type

Improved handling

Adjusted armor values

Improved texturing in many places both interior and exterior

Added vision mode options for commanders CPS monitor

Added AI turret tracking using the laser designator

Added scripts for ammo count

Added dump AGM range script

-Not included in this version- (coming in a later version)

Firing from vehicle - still too buggy and poorly defined for public release

Driver interior lod - still being worked on

Advanced features (interactive loader/turret control override etc) - still being worked on.

Changes to optics and vision modes to the correct specification - next version

There are still many areas to be finished. Please report to me any errors that you find and i'll make sure fixes are provided asap.

Excellent progress with the Challenger :) I really like the interior lights and the quality is getting better and better.

Hey much appreciated man, i could definately use all the first hand references i can get. Cooincidently i have also found an AAV crewman who is helping me out with that too lol. Sorry but i can't share the model for the Challenger. It will at some point be sold on Turbosquid as most of my self created assets end up (i need to fund all this modding time somehow lol :D)

Burnes, are you maybe going to extend the turret like the image in my previous post, I think having it longer will give the tank a more up to date look also.
