Redphoenix 1540 Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) I love PhysX. Sometimes it's awkward to adjust, and very frustrating, but the results are mind-blowing. Earlier this week I adjusted the speedboat for my "Refined Vehicles"-Mod, when I remembered these ultra-fast Hydroplane boats. When I was little I used to watch them on TV, but totally forgot about them. But since ArmA is a great platform for modding, not only regarding to weaponry, I want to add some nice special touch to this game. I came up with my own hydroplane, loosely based on the U-37: This will probably be a long-term project since I want to have this thing being properly done. Redphoenix 1540 Posted November 30, 2013 Because the interior is quite important for me, I want some very nice models. So I started on custom parts. Modeling of the steering wheel is nearly done. Details, texturing eca. are still missing Needed half the day to figure out how to make a fitting monocoque.... Hope I can show pictures soon.
Redphoenix 1540 Posted December 2, 2013 It's going nice so far. Low-Poly exterior is finished in a bit.
Hatchet_AS 201 Posted December 2, 2013 Looking excellent! I know from personal experience there is much to be seen with the PhysX. And driving around Altis at these speeds on the open water will no doubt be a beautiful, and slightly chaotic thing to enjoy. All Pro.
progamer 14 Posted December 2, 2013 Looks awesome! Hopefully those high speeds will be as dangerous as in real life though.

Hopefully those high speeds will be as dangerous as in real life though. I have absolutely no doubt that they will not be as dangerous as in real. More pictures: I used my old PC-21 cockpit I have started here, to make everything look a bit futuristic. But still, a whole lot to do......
kilroy the nerd 14 Posted December 4, 2013 Mmmmm, it'll be real fun racing these in and out of Limri and getting caught crashing into Pyrgos docks. This is what makes Arma great, the modding platform lets you make nearly anything you want. Still waiting on massive starships though :P
lappihuan 178 Posted December 4, 2013 Nice Basti! Really like the Model. (done with 3DSMax?) Tell me when you get to the water effects, i allready have an idea ;)
Redphoenix 1540 Posted December 4, 2013 Nice Basti!Really like the Model. (done with 3DSMax?) Tell me when you get to the water effects, i allready have an idea ;) Yup, using 3ds max. Until then it'll be a long long way. Making up the cockpit, just by judging of pictures is not what you might call easy :'D

Redphoenix 1540 Posted December 4, 2013 are there no blueprints available?Check this site out, you may find somthing usefull. nm... just R/C  Nah. Most of them are built w/o a blueprint. But I am just making up the cockpit. I will need a bit longer, but I think it's worth the time. As soon as the exterior is ready I will need some help bringing this thing ingame. Redphoenix 1540 Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) Wow... Didn't think that it's a year ago I did this model... Anyhow. I am back! Hull is finished. Some things left to do inside the cockpit, but nothing too bad. UV-Mapping should be rather simple. Edited October 10, 2014 by RedPhoenix
