Officer, soldier or black op?

i don't want to be in charge and i hate it to look after everything. i like to go my own way as a soldier, and to snipe from the distance. but comanding the other troops takes too much time and gives me less time for the action. that's why i don't even like to be commender in MP.

Anyway with some kind of parachute this should work without dying!

But how did you get 3rd person view. I tried it but AI is too careful and doesnt do it full speed! Damm, I need that ramp!

As for the 3:rd person view - I add one soldier to my group and switch to command view. I have also placed a trigger on the ramp so that when my vehicle passes it the time scale is set to 0.1.

I like the officer or spec ops missions the best.

The annoying thing is when u set up a really good plan and somehow the AI messes it up,or maybe my bad commanding also having to micro-manage them is a pain too

I hate AI in my tanks so much that i usually just go as driver and ram other tanks and switch to manual fire to shoot them,well at least their more competent than the majority of ppl on public CS servers

For missions, I would go foot slogger because OFP AI controlling system can get fiddly. like most of you, I like to hang out in the Mission editor. I mainly just do crazy stuff. One of my favourites is to put two opposing forces, each with about 5 platoons facing each other, pl;ay as a civilian and see who wins the quick and brutal firefight.

As far as looks go, i mean. Black ops are cool, but they're so low detail that they dont even look like special forces. GIs are genaric enough so that detail doesnt matter, but spec ops really need to look the part to be enjoyed in a game.

i don't prefer to lead a group cuz it's a hassle. rather stay stay behind with M21 and shoot from long distance.

Speaking of messing around in the mission editor, i just had an interesting experience.

I got really borred, so i went into desert island and put 29 fully skilled snipers on a hill to the right on the map, with 12 auto generated enemy infantry groups coming at them, while i just sat back and watched them get slaughtered with my binocs. It was pretty cool.

I put myself in a western group near Petrovice.

I put a talented enemy sniper on a top of a 8-floored building.

It was very fun trying to reach the cover of the buildings,

when the sniper whacked 90% of the squad before cover!

Nobody except me knew who was killing them!

But don't try this in RL!

Ill have to try the 29 snipers vs.12 squads of enemy troops. Since Im crazy, I will of course double the number of both forces  

I think we agree, been an officer in OFP is ruined by the AI. Its better to stay on your own, and snipe snipe snipe!

Yes since OFP doesn't apply any fall damage to vehicles. You can jump from 500m with a trabant and it wont get damaged.
