major_shepard 82 Posted March 20, 2014 Hi,Lovely work so far on the launcher, it works wonderfully. I was wondering whethe it is possible to set a launch option/join server type that is a locally hosted LAN? Not terribly important, just curious. Thanks, and keep up the good work :) In the online panel, just create an entry an provide the Ethernet IP of the LAN ArmA 3 Server. Then in the Join Server dropdown menu select this entry and start game.
cobra5150 10 Posted March 20, 2014 I have a link to an error received when I try to update massi's african conflict mod. http://pastebin.com/DkFcakKm This is when I try to update where arma sync left off. It just hangs. I have just tried deleting the problem files folders (which I have tried before and that did not work) and this time it did work. Also this time I am using the arma3sync.bat not the normal executable. Deleting the problem folders with the uncompleted downloads seemed to help and no errors were reported in the console, Yet one mod, hafm helis did not fully download and update. So I deleted the hafm folder re updated and it worked. All mods were updated. Not sure why it wont just download and complete first try. It's going to be hard to manage a group and use our mods pack if this happens to others. Having to delete and reupdate ect.
major_shepard 82 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) It is an out of memory error that causes the issue. Could you check if your pc ram memory is not full up when it happens? Also try this: open ArmA3Sync.bat with a text editor and change -Xms=256m -Xmx=256m to -Xms=1024m -Xmx=1024m Edited March 20, 2014 by Major_Shepard
cobra5150 10 Posted March 21, 2014 I have updated the repo. Try to update it and see if it completes. Seems like the error occurs when updating as opposed to when it is downloading for the first time.
gundy 10 Posted March 23, 2014 I have updated the repo. Try to update it and see if it completes. Seems like the error occurs when updating as opposed to when it is downloading for the first time. This sounds very much like the problem I outlined a couple of pages back, no solution found so far. Do you happen to use a HTTP repository as well? Something seems to be wrong with the ZSYNC process when having to download changes as opposed to downloading from scratch.

gundy 10 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) ArmA3Sync 1.2 Update 6Download Use Check for Updates in the Help menu Changelog - Added: User can now generate addon group from repository content (modset) which is maintained updated automatically when synchronising with the repository. - Fixed: various errors that may occurred when synchronising with http hosted repository. I can confirm that this update fixes the HTTP sync issues I have been seeing (including the use of username/password). Thank you! I would also like to mention that all of the HTTP sync client side interaction is still requiring both an alias to be set up without the trailing "/" to make the initial redirect as well as indexes to be enabled. For the sake of maximum web-server compatibility and improved security (not allowing web bots to scan directory content), I would kindly like to ask you to remove that seemingly unnecessary step. Here is condensed version of the Apache Log that shows what is currently occurring: 192.168.178.150 - - [01/Apr/2014:00:39:46 +0200] "GET /A3Repository HTTP/1.1" 301 326 "-" "Java/1.7.0_51" 192.168.178.150 - - [01/Apr/2014:00:39:46 +0200] "GET /A3Repository/ HTTP/1.1" 200 2908 "-" "Java/1.7.0_51" 192.168.178.150 - - [01/Apr/2014:00:39:46 +0200] "GET /A3Repository/.a3s/sync HTTP/1.1" 200 31599 "-" "Java/1.7.0_51" The first two lines should not have to be there. major_shepard 82 Posted April 1, 2014 If it works for your friends I expect your firewall/anti-virus is blocking ArmA3Sync from performing http request ^^
catatonicChimp 10 Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) Hi Major_Shepard We are running into a couple of issues now that we have a large section of our clan running a3sync. Testing mods becomes a little bit of an issue, some mods work fine, others work only in single player etc, so we are trying to implement a pipeline that allows us to test them prior to using them in missions, what we want to avoid is other members who are less technical, downloading mods that will just take up space when we decide that its not suitable. I have been making spreadsheets with data about what we approved as working, versions, etc, but as its not right there in a3sync they seem to ignore it. Also from a repo manager perspective, I have to manually check files to see if I need to be updated. But having a few extra attributes would be helpful in dealing with the large amount of mods that are been churned out by the arma3 community at the moment. If possible we would like to see is: Another column with the mods status, (Testing, Approved, Deprecated), and a colour code in that column to match e.g. (YELLOW, GREEN, RED). An overlay that pops up when you hover your mouse over the mod, that will tell us the: Mod Name, Brief Description, Mod Version, UploadDate The idea in my head would be that there would be a config file for each mod, either in the mod folder itself or in a repo folder, and that data would be manually input by the user. major_shepard 82 Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) Another column with the mods status, (Testing, Approved, Deprecated), and a colour code in that column to match e.g. (YELLOW, GREEN, RED). In which interface do you want to see this? An overlay that pops up when you hover your mouse over the mod, that will tell us the: Mod Name, Brief Description, Mod Version, UploadDate The idea in my head would be that there would be a config file for each mod, either in the mod folder itself or in a repo folder, and that data would be manually input by the user. Cheers Catatonic That could be possible. From the Admin panel, adding a Options button which would open a new interface that let user attach description data to each mod. Now in my team we have 2 repositories like this: - Main one with all stable approuved mods used by everyone for regular missions. - A second one that contains under tests mods, only use by our hardcore members to perform tests during non official mission day. So the "casual" members never mess up with mods on regular mission day. Edited April 1, 2014 by Major_Shepard
sorophx 25 Posted April 1, 2014 can someone tell me how to work with repositories? I have an older version of a mod, so I check the repository, and there this mod is listed with a "!" sign next to it. I expand the branch, and there are files in three colors: black, red, and blue. what do the codes mean? which ones do I download?
major_shepard 82 Posted April 1, 2014 Select all the mods (the @folders) you want to update or you want to get and click Start download. Colors or only here for information: - Blue = local file that's does not exists anymore on the repository - Red = new or updated file - Black = no change, select it or not it won't matter
