Aculaud 0 Posted August 1, 2002 For some reason, my weapon view is a LOT slower than it was. I move the mouse, and then it takes a second and THEN moves where i wanted it. Especially in forested areas.
Mister Frag 0 Posted August 1, 2002 If you are using Resistance, try turning down the Terrain Detail -- it has a dramatic impact on performance. Also, if you have a low-end or mid-range video card, consider using smaller textures.
Aculaud 0 Posted August 1, 2002 No no, it doesnt go chunky by any means, its perfectly smooth, its just a lot slower than its supposed to. I move the mouse, and it takes a second before floating over to where i want it. The weapon view is just really floaty. It doesnt keep up with the mouse at all. Also, i tried turning up mouse sensitivity, and it didnt work.
BoonieRat 0 Posted August 1, 2002 Try turning Vertical Synchronisation on (V~Sync, for mere mortals or change the 'Pre Render' option to a lower(than default 3) number if you want it off. does the mouse curse move like it in the options menu. thats usually where you first notice 'mouse lag'... look in you graphics card properties box/window for the settings... How long this been going on?. since installed 1.75, or last time you started gameplay?..
Aculaud 0 Posted August 1, 2002 Its just been since last time i started playing it. And just a reminder, its NOT CHUNKY at all, it goes as smooth as ever, it just takes too long to move from one point to the next.
Goeth 0 Posted March 19, 2004 I have exactly the same problem, the problem goes away if you disable AA and AF. Framerate doesn´t drop on forest just the movement goes like you´re trying to swim on cement. But there must be some kind of a bug since my computer should run AA and AF. Does anyone know how to solve this problem besides disabling AA and AF? ------------------ System Information ------------------ System Model: A7N8X-E BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG Processor: AMD Athlon? noundo 0 Posted March 19, 2004 Hmmm, I'm confused Quote[/b] ]Now that was some serious searching to find a similar thread to help with your problem, I'm exceedingly impressed I thought this ^ was sarcasm directed at Aculaud. Nevermind....just trying to help a bro out.
somebloke 0 Posted March 19, 2004 Technically shouldn't he be in trouble for bringing a really old thread back to the top? or is there a loophole when it's for technical help
Placebo 31 Posted March 19, 2004 I thought this ^ was sarcasm directed at Aculaud. No sir it was sincerity aimed at Goeth, when a lot of people still don't bother searching it's good to see someone make a real effort Somebloke - TS threads are exempt if it's for the purpose of solving a problem or to add something constructive, digging up a really old thread to say something like "me too" is not ok however
Goeth 0 Posted March 19, 2004 But do you mind if i ask since none of the mentioned cure doesn´t help.

You can alleviate it somewhat by getting a tweaker for your vid card drivers and setting the z-buffer compression to 3 (High). What puzzles me most is that some people claim to experience it, and some don't.  One of the guys that write the Catalysts chalked it up to fillrate limitations on the cards, which would imply that everyone suffers it, yet clearly (from reading Rage3d.com forums) 50% of people see slowdowns in smoke/forest/heavy sprites and the other 50% don't, or at least claim not to.  Maybe they just can't duplicate the conditions to test it properly *shrug* In any case, it is a major problem given that it virtually precludes me from zooming in on forests, or even using the right-mouse mini-zoom, without some sort of lagginess to the inputs. Placebo 31 Posted March 20, 2004 Ignoring the nazi mods for a second, Excuse me? Comments like that won't get you far at all. Generally I don't get called a Nazi until I ban someone and I haven't banned anyone for a while now.
