Bell jetranger?

I remember reading in a thread a while back that someone found a bit of text in a script about a Jetranger. Has any info about this been released yet? And what are your thoughts? Do you think it will be released in the next patch or not? Give me your thoughts! Also, what do you think: do the civilians/Resistance need a helicopter, or should BIS spend their time on doing NATO/Russian helicopters, landvehicles etc.?

The OH-58 is a military verion of the Jetranger. It's just got rockets, and a little camera/sensor thing on the top of it's rotors.

This is a civillian version which has been found unfinished in Resistance.

If any choppers are included in future it should be the Mi-26 for East to balance the Chinook. If civilian choppers are included then there should also be lightly armed version of it for Resistance side.

the chinook isnt much competition... a uaz can do more dammage than a chinook can, we really need a bell 206 for the civilians, a news chopper or something, or island tours, or just a plain bell 206 in civilian paint scheme, then we need some kind of light chopper for the resistance.

I'd either like to have a old Littlebird for the Resistance, armed with one PK or it would also be cool for the Resistance to have a Huey (left over from 'Nam perhaps) or some kind of old Russian helicopter (I don't know much about Russian helicopters so I can't give any names).

Well, I thought it would fit more in General, as it was a question not really concerning a new addon, or that I would like to have a addon built by someone. I asked for an opinion and if it was true that a bit of code had been found in one of the internal OFP scripts. But yea, it might as well go in ADDONS&MODS anyway.

Resistance equipment shouldn't just be old crap things, they are cheap things that the island-state can afford or that the Soviets left behind. Why would the have helicopters from "left over from 'Nam"?

Naa, it's not the unit damage, it's just that West has more variety in their units so East should also have equal variety.

A Huey for Resistance? Guess you people just want to reskin that into a Nam' chopper [/sARCASM]

I'm from Holland so I don't care about any Huey. It just seems to most probable helicopter for Resistance units (cheap)

The Chinook is competition because it's a heavy lift helicopter that can carry more troops then anything that the Russian side has. You can put two squads (and maybe a bit more) into the Chinook. It would be nice to have a Mi-26 that would let you do the same for the Russian side...plus the huge Mi-26 is just impressive to see flying.

I agree, there should be a lighter Russian chopper to match the miriad if west ones also. For special forces insertion and light support etc.

i think as long as its not possible to put vehicles into choppers the mi26 wouldnt give us a lot.... ok it would look really great and would be fun to fly ...but i think a competition to the chinnok is not really necessary... the mil17 can carry enought soldiers.... but a havoc would be great.... as a competition to the apache ... ok its not as good as the apache but it is the same class of helo...that more necessary ..the hind is too old... its weapons and its technology isnt uptodate anymore

? the V80 match perfectly against the apache , what it doesn't have in qualioty of its armament , it compensates it by the number , 16 at6 .... good for me

maybe in reality ...but in ofp its quite hard for me to use the ka50... if your are that ofp superman it looks like... maybe not ...but for me its hard... it has no real gunturret ... in my eyes the v80 is BIs cheapest addon... they made no new sound... the model is... i dont wanna say ugly but its not as good as the other ones....i think they made it a bit to easy for themselves... thats my opinion...i hope/think that evis v80 will be better

hmm... didnt i said it was only my opinion? and i did not said im able to make a better one! if that model was a hobbymade, i would have said anything, your right at this point. but its their job to to make games! they dont do it just for fun.. they get payed for it. i dont wanna say that its the worst model if ever seen ... i simply say that its , compared to the others, not as good as they are... you may think differently...

but (to get back to what we were talking about... maybe the ka52 could be a compromise...

There is code for a bell jetranger in resistance?!?!?!? future addon in a patch perhaps?

i have this edited freeware model in ofp of the jetranger/oh-58a im just waiting to see if i can get other textures until i work on it more
