bluedrake42 10 Posted May 15, 2013 The newest update just turned a poor control scheme into an absolute crap one. When I go into ironsights mode. I want to be in ironsights mode. PERIOD. I don't care what speed it forces me into, but when I tell the game I want to look through the sights. THATS WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN. Now when I right click, whenever I move I go out of ironsights... and I don't feel like having to switch back into combat pace to use it... I used to be able to jerry-rig the system into a semi-decent setup. now thats all out the window I'm tired of pressing 50 billion keys to go through 50 billion different walking/running stances, that all have inconsistent handling of looking through the sights WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO ACHEIVE!? I've been playing for over 10 years, and never once has the game changed, its just 50 dollar rereleases of the same sh@#%y engine. I'd rather just play cold war crisis. purepassion 22 Posted May 15, 2013 There is a issue with changing to running pace when you aim down during combat pace...

ProfTournesol 956 Posted May 15, 2013 I've been playing for over 10 years, and never once has the game changed, its just 50 dollar rereleases of the same sh@#%y engine. A little overdone, isn't it ?
bluedrake42 10 Posted May 15, 2013 yeah I'm tired of hearing "work in progress" its been "work in progress" for the past 2 hundred dollars worth of re-releases I was hoping this time it'd be different. but its not. you can't try and tell me that the changes we've seen between arma, arma II and arma III are worth 50$ rehashes every time bohemia interactive are getting worse than EA. their only saving grace is the fact that they have mod support. And TBH I've gotten more original content from modders for free than I have from bohemia for hundreds of dollars
abs 2 Posted May 15, 2013 I'd rather just play cold war crisis. Do whatever makes you happy, brosephine. Regardless, this software is an ALPHA, meaning that they can add and remove features as they see fit. You want to see no more changes? Wait until BETA before you bitch. joschaap 1 Posted May 15, 2013 if you want a finished product go back to arma 2 arma3 will have issues, and even when transitioned into beta will keep having issues. It's all a part of the open-development they are doing a.t.m. if this frustrates you so much you should realy consider not participating in alpha asswell as beta testing.. and just wait for the finished product. byku 13 Posted May 15, 2013 Wait, wait... You're are complaining about DEV patch? A DEV? An alpha patch to an alpha game? Rly? Or did anything change in official patches?
bluedrake42 10 Posted May 15, 2013 I know what alpha means on wiki abs but you know what alpha means to me? a chance for the community to have some input on a game before its released that caters more to our needs I'll gladly bitch at beta... because you know whats gonna happen? BI is going to do whatever they want, community be damned, and while everyone is sitting around explaining how "its only alpha" the game is going to be released with a suite of half-assed content that everyone neglected to point out because "it was only alpha" I'm tired of developers doing what ever they want, while trying to also claim that they're "listening" they're not listening. It's exactly the same as Madden, it's just the same game with different armies and even every single mission is the same to the letter. Every year we pay $50 for this and every year they pile up another 50$ worth of DLC's. Why do you keep buying it anyway? It sucks dude, vote with your wallet and buy the better product that does all the same things even better for less money. Oh wait...
bluedrake42 10 Posted May 15, 2013 this is just like what happened with dragon rising. and most other BI games. seriously go to the official community wishlist and lets see how much of that gets into the game I guarantee it'll be less than 1% of features that weren't already planned
St. Jimmy 272 Posted May 15, 2013 this is just like what happened with dragon rising. and most other BI games. Ok now you must be trolling because you don't even know who did Dragon Rising. If not... It's an alpha/beta patch and you can give feedback but you don't have to cry like a 12yo.

bluedrake42 10 Posted May 15, 2013 what happened with dragon rising. PERIOD. and most other BI games (besides arma III). two seperate statements. I know who did dragon rising, that doesn't mean it isn't like whats happening now. codemasters tried to convince everyone that their community was what drives the game obviously that was BS. just like this. Rage-posting isn't input. Alpha isn't about shaping the game to conform to the whims of the userbase. How would you know if they're listening or not? I don't see your handle on the feedback tracker. I know you're a big YT celeb and all, but this is making you look silly.

The game is evolving incredibly with dozens new features, better graphics and even better performance. I fail to realize how anyone could confidently state that since 2001, it's the same game with no noticable changes... But if you demand crazy stuff like you can find it in the massive wishlist which consists of rubbish for a big portion, of course not everything of that is possible. However, there is a dedicated community bugtracker which is actively used and you can observe how issues brought up even in e.g. the dev branch discussion thread are solved just a few days later. I can talk to pettka about a specific problem I see, he will forward it to the corresponding person and if it's reproducable, it's getting fixed a day later. They are listening. Closely. :blues: Edited May 15, 2013 by PurePassion

Smurf 12 Posted May 15, 2013 This is the time to change and test stuff. This is NOT a final game, get used to it. Life is even harder for addon\mission makers that may see their work break by some changes. Or you could wait some more month and see the end result.
bluedrake42 10 Posted May 15, 2013 I will, but if things like this make it into the final game A: it wouldn't be the first time, and B: I won't be buying ArmA IV So we'll just have to see. I'm not holding my breath though.
purepassion 22 Posted May 15, 2013 That wasn't even in the earlier builds but introduced in a experimental dev branch... A developer has already replied he acknowledged the problem and that it will be fixed...
Deadfast 43 Posted May 15, 2013 (edited) Wait, I'm confused. You complain about a bug caused by an update to the movement system. And then in the same breath you complain that things aren't being changed enough. If you can't deal with stuff like this get out of the dev branch and stick with stable as others have said. This is like complaining that a nightly build of your favorite program crashes, the f&*#er. Edited May 15, 2013 by Deadfast
