finally got immersed into arma 3

Hi first off this is my first arma game that i have played.I bought my first pc last year (Best move i have ever made) so coming from console as most of you know there is no other game like it out there.I got the alpha version as soon as it was available but i just could not get into it mainly because i was playing it like a normal shooter and was getting no were.But finally after watching some youtube videos on tactics and how to make my own missions i am loving it lol.I can now make an mission i can think of:D

Anyway just wanted to share my experience with you all it seems like a good forum

I think learning the scripting for mission making was the biggest barrier as far as really enjoying ArmA for me. It's one of those things that you kind of just have to dive into and learn to really get the most out of the mission editor.

lol. exactly! the editing forums are basically a big crack house ;)

i really like to hear reports like this after reading so many whining comments about the alpha having flaws (how surprising...). good to see that someone actually is getting what's so good about arma.

one tip for you. if you need any information on how to realize certain things in the mission editor, make sure to always also check the arma 1 and arma 2 mission scripting sections. a lot of stuff still applies to arma 3 and with the help of those sections you can find examples for almost everything you can think of.

You could also pick up Arma 2 for added content. combined arms, complete, anniversary, or some other arma 2 package that gets you arma 2, operation arrowhead, and a dlc or two.

Allows you to combine previous arma content with arma 3. While it's currently only a mod, After full release BI may make a "rearmed" type of dlc like they did with take on helicopters.

The content that is offered in Arma 2 is well worth it, the game is a little harder to get used to in terms of jump in and play but the ability to play arma 2 in the arma 3 engine makes it unbelievably good.

i have just bought it lol.i find it a bit tricky at the moment but iam geting better at it.:D
