jblackrupert 14 Posted April 14, 2013 When will people learn to never trust the internet People are still defending him, coming up with all kinds of excuses as to how he managed to leap up out of that chair despite claiming for the last 2 years he was paralyzed from the waist down. That's just the way things are, some people no matter what are born suckers and will believe anything despite overwhelming evidence something is a scam I remember a story here in Canada of a lawyer who got taken by Nigerian 419 scammer's.... TWICE!... Hopefully he will be charged along with the girlfriend and his family who were in on it.
nodunit 397 Posted April 14, 2013 (edited) If I were disabled from the waist down and got up I would be stunned and then yelling and crying from happyness. Then again you're a strange person to donates to a person who plays video games "for a living", I thought that was what views and partnerships we for thus the reason why they stream. Tonci87 163 Posted April 14, 2013 Well I wasn´t able to walk for almost a year because of an accident and it sucks to see someone pretending to be disabled just to make money on peopels good will. Not beeing able to walk is terrible, you don´t make fun of it by pretending.

I agree on that. I wonder if he was also claiming any kind of real life benefits for his "issue" ?
jblackrupert 14 Posted April 14, 2013 I agree on that.I wonder if he was also claiming any kind of real life benefits for his "issue" ? He claimed he wasn't able to get any government support and needed donations to live, they also paid for the wheelchair you see in the video along with the fish tank and lots of electronics and god knows whatever else. He wasn't simply claiming to have an injury that he could recover from with therapy, it was full on paralyzed from the waist down the story he was learning to walk with therapy was the cover story to explain his getting up and walking away after the "I fell" excuse didn't fly. The amount he received from donations was anywhere from $20,000-$50,000 over 2 years depending on where you read it. The whole family was in on it, not just him and the girlfriend. jblackrupert 14 Posted April 14, 2013 Am I the only one who thinks this is pretty hilarious? Not really, things like this have a serious effect on legitimate charities and services being able to get donations they require to do the things they do.

dmarkwick 261 Posted April 15, 2013 Still it is heartening to know that there are generous and sympathetic people around who are willing to donate. Pity that sometimes there are rogues among the needy.
mrcash2009 0 Posted April 15, 2013 True that DM. If there is one thing that really gets to me the most (upset) its peoples good nature being taken advantage of, which there are too many cases of that around. Then again another lesson here is what goes around comes around, he got his good and proper.
nodunit 397 Posted April 15, 2013 Did he? Twitch banned his account (does that include IP) and THEY are reimbursing the donatees. I don't quite see how he got his but perhaps I'm just too vengeful when it comes to people like this...
Flash Thunder 10 Posted April 16, 2013 Just like when people donate to cancer research and only 15% of it is actually used towards cancer research. Bravo. You guys have learned an important lesson in life. Scammers are good sobers.
