chortles 263 Posted April 3, 2013 No, its not gone away. Its the same as Arma 2. The reason you aren't hearing about it is that few people have bought the alpha, and a lot still feel burned by the problems of Arma 2, which are still showing up in Arma 3.Considering how many people who've bought, played and even done "so here's Arma 3" videos are in fact reporting that it's noticeably different, pretty much the only rebuttal that makes sense would be you accusing them all of lying. And Chortles, seriously? Your quoting Dyslexi? He's a total FANBOY, with a FANBOY video. He's not going to be exactly neutral on the issues. Why would I not quote Dslyecxi as the guy behind the video, unless you're accusing him of doctoring the video in the first place? Because if you are, then please tell everyone complaining about it in that other thread just that. For what it's worth, the only change I made to the default mouse settings was to turn smoothing all the way leftward ("off"); mouse acceleration was left off, aiming deadzone was left off, and in the video options Vsync was left enabled; I did not do the aforementioned "frames" line change that Dwarden posted, and in my most recent testing (prompted by this thread) consisting of plopping an infantryman and attempting to swing side to side/to and fro with a weapon, I was running a mouse on the 1800 dpi setting (settings on this mouse are 800 dpi, 1200 dpi, 1800 dpi and 2600 dpi) and I was definitely not noticing a perceptible issue with infantry movement and aiming nearly to the magnitude of Arma 2. futro 10 Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) I can not seem to get rid of my mouse lag. I have spent the last few weekends fiddling with the updating drivers, config file, in game settings, launch options, and browsing forums. To no avail. If you would like me to post more information concerning rectifying this problem let me know. I will gladly help out as much as I can. When I move the mouse the reticule on screen takes forever to move. Making it incredibly difficult to aim. Essentially making the game entirely unplayable for me. I had this issue with BattleField3 too, and never figured it out. To me it doesn't seem like video lag. More of mouse input lag. I ran into dslyecxi's videos and have fallen in love with with the Arma series. I purchased the Supporters Edition and haven't been able to play any of the content. Let's not have me waste $90 haha. Please help me if you can. It will be greatly appreciated. Semper Fi. xXxatrush1987 10 Posted May 28, 2013 you may try get a mouse from razer or roccat and test this again, other than that is a phenom x4 and a 6850 quite a bit too slow to handle heavy load in arma 3(can and can not be related to your mouse/input lag. shutting off vsync helps a lot with input lag, the more the slower your hardware is. i would try to test if mouse/input lag is still there with all settings minimum in the editor(no ai scripts, etc) using razer imperator and logitech g9 for testing now, no issues, but my rig is quite a bit faster than yours. i7 2700k@ 4.6ghz 2133mhz ram 8gb hd 7970@ 1150/1700mhz other than taht is the g5 mouse well known for its heavy mouse lag an different systems, you may look official logitech forums, they are aware of it since 2010. hope this helps you in enjoying arma 3 alpha. rasdenfasden 12 Posted May 28, 2013 Here's what I did, it totally eliminates mouselag on my end: In Arma3Alpha.cfg: GPU_MaxFramesAhead=0; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=0; In the actual graphics settings: VSYNC Off Postprocessing: Disabled Antialiasing: 2x PPAA: FXAA Standard Controls: Mouse acceleration and smoothing Off Computer chair: Very cushiony
Harzach 2518 Posted May 28, 2013 GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=0; This is reset every time you start the game, so changing it will have no effect.
jumpinghubert 49 Posted May 28, 2013 Hi,I'm using the dev builds. Playing the showcase missions, my character is always turning turning a bit delayed from when I move the mouse. It's like 1/4 second and not fun to play. Mouse accel. and smoothing are turned off. Anyone else? I need to test more, not sure if it depends on the number of AI units. It's not the case in Arma II e.g. My specs: Core i7/2600k, GTX570, 8GB RAM @Win7X64 Michael I have a razer diamondback and turned off acceleration in razer software too. Or try different mouse settings in windows. I have no lag at all except with low fps a little bit.
jw custom 56 Posted May 28, 2013 These are my mouse settings: The values: mouseSensitivityX=1.4749212; mouseSensitivityY=1.4749212; mouseSmoothing=0; mouseAcceleration=1; No mouse lag my end.
kklownboy 43 Posted May 28, 2013 Samsung Syncmaster. Samy's panels are ( depending on the Display manufacturer) the worst at input lag. More OSD options just make it worse. But there is allot more involved than just the Panel, your USB mouse port (USB1?), Your USB driver for a old platform. Running all the cool overlays while gaming. Sharing the USB root with iffy power. Using Mouse Software that is crap, or isnt set up correctly between Desktop and Gaming mode. Running with out Vsync. Its like having Coilwhine, when you have it it sux. This is a non Bis issue, but they could i guess change some timming thang in game per frame. I would first update DX and check my Bios options for legacy USB support. After that I would make sure MS isnt controlling your Cores, and set them to unpark. I have no lag. I have old eyes and played on 14 baud modems so i have the skilz to anticipate lag... lol
