LOL, im in the USA and i pre-orderd from Bestbuy.com and their release date says 6/30 lol hope no one tells them that its 7/2.Anyways i should get it on Tuesday if they send it on sunday. But instead of paying 29.99 i payed 40.47 because of two day shipping and handling fees and tax.I hope I get it soon!

Codemasters have staggered the release dates?

Well.. poor BIS, I suggest they seek another distributor because they just opened the floodgates to piracy.

Game gets released in 1 country = Other countries are still in demand = demand filled by Piracy = Less dollars for hard work BIS have done.

Unfortunately BIS have also been let down, aswell as the OFP fans in the US, Asia Pacific etc have been let down.

And I haven't seen bugger all advertising so what are CM good for? It's the best game on the planet but it doesn't matter if noone knows about it.

now distributor says that the shipment got stuck in customs. The stock got released today, but it was meant to be earlier. (Bloody customs! So distributor is getting stock to warehouse today.

But..

They say it will be on shelves next thursday/friday (maybe). Thats a while to get it on shelves. It sounds like bullshit to me (this situation is totally fucked). We will see i guess.

Me thinks codemasters has monkeys running it distribution (very, very drunk monkeys).

Well I for one am voting with my wallet.  I wasnt going to buy ofp:r (games are evil time wasters argh!) but woke up today and felt the urge.

However im getting real real pissed at these games companies who keep shafting loyal customers.  (Yeah -> customers, NOT freaking consumers you tools!)

Aussie customs, what can I say?

If the distrubutor gets it 2day. i don't see how it would take till the end of next week for us to get it on shelf. Should only take 2/3 days.

Ever get the sense that you are banging your head against a brick wall, ostensibly to break the wall down, but then you realize that you sort of enjoy the pain? You havent? Well- me neither. But thats sort of what we're doing here. So, let me recap everything we have so far, so Placebo can lock this thread, because I can just sense that hes itching to.

So far:

In Germany: Supposedly releasing today, but some places were selling it yesterday

In Britain & the rest of Europe: Releasing today

In America: Official Release Date of July 2. However, 2 of the biggest games stores have varying opinions of this. Best Buy says it releases on June 30th. Electronics Boutique says they wont have ir ril at least the 7th of July

In Australia: Not til at least the 10th. If I were you guys I would be going ape shit on CMs customer service division right about now.

Codemasters are a bunch of friggin idiots who couldnt handle an international release if their lives depended on it. Their shipping division must be completely severed from all the other divisions, and sales& marketing divisions aint exactly winning awards either. They have a jewel of a game in OFP, in fact, its the only one of their recent games to garner any sort of notable critical praise, and yet on their PC games page, I have to scroll halfway down to find OFP, and Im running on 1600x1200! This is sad. CM has the goose that lays the golden egg, and they dont even realise it. BIS has demonstrated with the release of OFP that they are a serious game development studio that deserves to be treated professionally, akin to other great game studios. But instead CM treats them like the second string, botching their releases, and not advertising their stellar product adequately.

i want it real bad, but i think some of you are over reacting(specificly the ones that wont buy the game because of it)

i mean if i were bis i would be looking for a new publisher, but im not ready to give up the game becuase i get it a week later.

Ive found that the time passes faster if you just stare at a specific object for hours at a time
