ARMA 2: OA 1.62 (Release Candidate #1) build 95168

Recommended Posts

Actually no man. If you will simply run straight without any orders the AI will blast it off. And this issue is not present in ArmA2 1.11

It's not the location. It's no different anywhere else. AI has a lot of chances to fire at Shilka but it does not take the shot. In fact it's the AI that detects it first. So he sees it. He knows where it is.

Solution should be simple. Vehicle in sight? Blast it. There will be no time to look for a good position if it faces you.

Not quite, but I won't deny it has problems when the AI is faced with other objects such as trees in a forest or difficult terrain where it won't see the vehicle directly. I still believe it's partially a matter of AI pathfinding.

Solution really should be simple.

It should, indeed. However, I think it's actually, believe it or not, overthinking it. I've added a YouTube video to the ticket. As you see, it's not relevant to this beta build/RC in particular. So let's refrain from debating this further within this thread.

it is easy to rollback to 1.60.

first dont stress. all you have to do is unistall Arma2 and arma2oa. then install arma2 and arma2OA plus all the older patches (BUT NOT THESE BETA 1.62 TESTS).

then copy your arma2 folder to a new location. rename it arma2backup. then use arma2backup any time you mess up your arma2 install.

these are the steps i had to perform 2 days ago. i learnt a lesson. hope this can help someone.

Had to laugh. Next in the series .....it is easy to climb Mount Everest.

Confused on the whole situation of me being forced to beta test through these new patches on arma that have now made it impossible to play anything on arma but day z. I believe the reason is that I purchased the game on steam which forces me to download the latest version of the game, thus making me stuck with the broke version.

What I want to know is if I can revert back to 1.60 so I can play on the domination servers on arma.

Thanks for the help!

no the reason is that you installed a beta which cannot be rolled back - and which aint Multiplay compatible for anything else but DayZ.

Normally when you install it manually you see the warnings via Thread or readme.txt. maybe you installed it automatically via 6launcher - it wont give you that warning.

Just let me teach you something: common behaviour when dealing with beta testing and such (DayZ btw is an alpha too) is to always have a back up of the working vanilla game - so when an update fails or sth goes wrong you can always fall back to that vanilla copy.

As most betas are non destructive and can be installed some are not. There is always a warning in the thread opener post.

I recommend copying the vanilla game folder and renaming it. You play dayz - you help with alpha testing - just dont treat dayZ and beta testing as perfectly running stuff. Its still all testing. If you dont want to test out stuff - its no problem, but dont isntall beta and alpha stuff then.
