They were just rhetorical questions aimed at getting people to think more carefully about the violence vs. swearing issue. In my opinion, using violence to justify bad language is pretty silly.

So you could not work out my suggestion was to help, as in headphones might be the only way if you cannot afford it at the moment, and using "FFS" was irony and simply a joke with smileys? You missed that?

If you dont want children to hear the swearing, but have no money to purchase full game in order for the mod you ask for to mute swearing, then if you slap on some headphones your solution is done.

If you have been hurt by the fact that I don't like to hear constant swearing, then you can go somewhere else. Thank you - Mr. Getthefreakout

So ok, headphones wont work as you personly dont like swearing, and thus you either deal with it ref the rating of the game, or leave it alone and dont be offended by it, and when you can afford to do so, purchase the game fully and grab the mod & then get back to playing offendless. Im not hurt, seems you are by a adult rated simulation of war :)

Personally, I think children can start picking up on swearing fairly young, and I think the appropriate age for cartoon violence is still less than the appropriate age for children to start cussing.

You wont find an exactly age as definition but experts will tell you, and I had to look for infos, that children at the age of 6-7 start to distinguish between fiction and reality. Children use the vicarious learning and fictional violence is therfore controversial when it comes to pc games or other media. Iam not sure if cartoon violence is compareable with violence in certain games we are talking about.

There is a difference aswell in our cultures when you compare certain european countries or english language areas. Wheras in english language areas cursing is more a serious behaviour problem, you will find educational methods in the european area which are more lax in response when such a cursword is used, but it is of course in common to avoid that children use such phrases at all or hear it from their own parents.

You will see also differences in the valuation of violence and nudity in the societies in general, in the european area violence in media products are more strictly rated. Wheras for example in certain english language areas i.e. USA the approval of violence and nudity are very different than in Europe. The internet is a good example to see that, often images of violence is more accepted than a natural female breast. Topless females and nudity in general on public shores is another point, which is widely more accepted in european countries in comparison, these are examples what european would call silly but shows the difference of the societies.

The reason for this are by the way the Puritans, which did influence the english language areas but especially the national trait of the US.

I'm an Arma 2 player but good players and bad players are found in every game. I've found even stupid players playing Civilization IV.
