vilas 477 Posted June 23, 2015 probably Lybian authorities participate in this business and for them this business is profitable (not only bribes, but getting rid of people who will not get job there) plus jihadists supporters also are happy due to traficking jihadists to EU
Dwarden 1125 Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) major wave immigrants going thru Libya is just nonsense and obsolete news by media ... most of them aren't using the route anymore for several reasons 1. longest (into Turkey > Greek island or Turkey > Bulgaria are shorter) 2. unsafe (they getting killed by militants in Libya or robbed or enslaved) 3. dryshot (why risk drowning in sea when you can go thru land frontier of Bulgaria) the amount of immigrants crossing from Turkey into EU (one greek island is 6km from Turkey shore) or bulgaria) is 10:1 vs Libya route and 7:1 vs the Spain's North African territories there is no protection on the Bulgaria borders, no walls, no fence, no thermal cameras, no UAVs, just normal rare border manned patrols each of both Italy (islands) and Spain (NA territories) deployed more protection against immigrants from Libya than combined solution of Bulgaria and Greece vs immigrants from Turkey Edited June 24, 2015 by Dwarden
vilas 477 Posted June 24, 2015 i also read about through-Serbia channel to Hungary, from Kosovo to Serbia than to Hungary than to western EU Italians report 1500 people daily from boats, in last year over 120 000 people from Africa reported by Italians though see how much reported through Bulgaria from Turkey ? way through Turkey is way for Syrians and ISIS area way to Italy is from North-Mid Africa , co cross to Turkey they would have go trough Egypt and Isreal - impossible
Dwarden 1125 Posted June 24, 2015 (edited) it's easy to go thru Egypt also you have ships and airplanes those days, each ticket to Turkey is cheaper and safer than use Libya route ... there is 260km wide border between Turkey and Bulgaria, compared to only 13km land frontier between Greece and Turkey (already with barded wire fence) Bulgaria police arresting daily 100s of illegals just near the borders or nearby in cities/villages, the low figure is that DAILY 300-500 immigrants make it thru border so that would be 150k yearly as low figure, moderate is 2x and high is 4x note: out of those only 15k seeks asylum in Bulgaria, rest continue inland into main Europe also the official Bulgaria gov numbers about immigrants are doubling each year since 2010 and there is no indication of stalling plus you need to remember 10% of Bulgaria population are already Muslims and there're already troubles with radical groups and radicalized clerks Edited June 24, 2015 by Dwarden
sudayev 27 Posted June 28, 2015 (edited) Since the beginning of the Libyan crisis France provided financial aid and intelligence support for Libyan rebels in exchange for future profitable oil contracts http://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/originals/2015/06/libya-gadhafi-french-spies-rebels-support.html Edited June 28, 2015 by Sudayev
ProfTournesol 956 Posted June 28, 2015 I'm not surpised, sadly, this Libyan intervention was stupid from the start
spooky lynx 73 Posted June 28, 2015 Oh really? But how about all the previous words about struggle with dictatorship and helping ordinary Libyans?*trollface* I've told here at the beginning of the campaign - it is all about oil. Human rights, democracy and other BS don't really matter. They are just cliches used in media propaganda.
sudayev 27 Posted June 29, 2015 I'm not surprised, such reports are only confirming what this was all about. Similar reports already resurfaced back in 2011. Plan was to overthrow the colonel, cancel any personal debts and put hands on lucrative contracts. Libya country had no debts, in fact other countries owed Gaddafi big money and these debts were cancelled with end of Libyan Arab Jamahiriya. If you owe somebody a sum of money and you are not willing to "cough up the dough" - simply whack the person you owe money to. Gaddafi had the advantage, others did not. So they decided to rob him and cancelled own debts they had to Gaddafi. Now this mess in North Afirca is aftermath of "setting a score" between big players sitting on the opposite sides of the Mediterranean table and Gaddafi is laughing from in his grave of how Italy and rest of Europe is choking up with Libyan boat people. oxmox 73 Posted February 20, 2016 The US Is Now Bombing Islamic State Targets in Libya (ViceNews, Feb 19) US warplanes carried out air strikes early on Friday morning in the western Libyan city of Sabratha, where Islamic State (IS) militants allegedly operate, killing as many as 40 people. Since Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi was overthrown in 2011, the north African country has slipped deeper into chaos with two rival governments each backed by competing factions of former rebel brigades. As IS militants have expanded their reach in Libya, taking over the city of Sirte and attacking oil ports, so too have calls increased for a swift Western response to stop the group establishing a base outside its Iraq and Syria territory. https://news.vice.com/article/the-us-is-now-bombing-islamic-state-targets-in-libya

According to sensitive information available to this these individuals, Qaddafi's government holds 143 tons of gold, and a similar amount in silver. During late March, 2011 these stocks were moved to SABHA (south west in the direction of the Libyan border with Niger and Chad); taken from the vaults of the Libyan Central Bank in Tripoli. This gold was accumulated prior to the current rebellion and was intended to be used to establish a pan-African currency based on the Libyan golden Dinar. This plan was designed to provide the Francophone African Countries with an alternative to the French.franc (CFA). Source Comment: According to knowledgeable individuals this quantity of gold and silver is valued at more than $7 billion. French intelligence officers discovered this plan shortly after the current rebellion began, and this was one of the factors that influenced President Nicolas Sarkozy's decision to commit France to the attack on Libya. According to these individuals Sarkozy's plans are driven by the following issues: a. A desire to gain a greater share of Libya oil production, b. Increase French influence in North Africa, c. Improve his internal political situation in France, d. Provide the French military with an opportunity to reassert its position in the world e. Address the concern of his advisors over Qaddafi's long term plans to supplant France as the dominant power in Francophone Africa More details and infos about the source: https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/45muz5/declassified_now_deleted_clinton_emails_show/
