Phantom Six 25 Posted March 4, 2012 I'm just curious about what people most favorite dynamic missions for MP or some kind of gamemode are and what would you recommend other players to try out. Would it be, domination, insurgency, Hohei Evolution, GITS Evolution, ZK BattleZone, MSO, Patrol Ops, Takistan Force, etc. What other missions that are not on the list would people probably recommend? (Has to be a dynamic mission or some kind of custom gamemode)

Shashman 0 Posted April 15, 2012 What happened to good old small unit co-op missions? I've been out of the game for a while, but back in the OFP days, it was all about good, serious co-op
Gunter Severloh 4071 Posted April 15, 2012 Ones i posted you can play by yourself, or coop, they are better with coop. Lots of coop missions out there! The majority of missions are coop for mp.
Shashman 0 Posted April 15, 2012 Well, whenever I look in the server list, all I see is 'Domination', 'Insurgency', 'Evolution', etc, etc. Large missions with 50+ players, with most players just being lone 'rambo'. No planning, no tactics, no communications, no order, just chaos. It may as well be COD. There are nearly never any 'normal' co-op missions being played :/
nkenny 1057 Posted April 15, 2012 We play 'normal' missions nearly every day and larger scale events every Tuesday in our clan/group. I suspect the same can be said for many other groups. For public games scenario play is conspicuously absent.
sxp2high 23 Posted April 15, 2012 Well, whenever I look in the server list, all I see is 'Domination', 'Insurgency', 'Evolution', etc, etc. Yep. It's horrible. All these missions are always the same. Very little variety. No challenge. Nothing to lose. Just shooting stuff, die, respawn, teleport, and repeat. Look at my signature, it's a public server were we play 90% of the time "small" Coops. Preferably without respawn. Unfortunately most people seem to join only the servers with those endless-pointless missions. :( We play 'normal' missions nearly every day and larger scale events every Tuesday in our clan/group. I suspect the same can be said for many other groups. We can one find you? Which server are you referring to? Really like your "lite" missions!
Gunter Severloh 4071 Posted April 15, 2012 I dont play on public servers, I have my own gamesever, my buddy and I play on, so we play a variety of missions, those mostly being coop with teamwork, be it insurgency, dom, or evo, but most of the time ewe play custom missions with coop in mind. A clan, or squad prob be a good place to start for good coop or serious aspect anyways, but if you have a good friend or two, its not like you cant join any server and be serious yourselves. Variable 322 Posted April 15, 2012 For those of us who still seek the authentic coop feeling that dominated the OFP era, check my signature. We in Comrades in Arms have been running for nine years, twice (and now three) times a week. Pure cooperation and teamwork, no respawnvive bullshit, just the mission and the way to complete it. Our games are open to public so whoever wants to join just visit the "Join CiA coop nights" page and use our contact form to get the server password.
Shashman 0 Posted April 15, 2012 Hey Variable, I remember the CiA server. Used to play there a bit back in the OFP days :) I am looking for a squad to join (eventually), but I'm still quite new to ArmA2 so just want to get back into the swing of things before I do so. I was a member of SWAF (Seawolves Armed Forces), a realistic squad, well, virtual battalion (modelled on US Army) to be more precise, for about 3 years. nkenny 1057 Posted April 16, 2012 We can one find you? Which server are you referring to? Really like your "lite" missions! Hi Sxp2high, For or regular play nights we usually organize via our forums nopryl.no, casual/random play usually happens via STEAM. Poke me on either. :) -k
Phantom Six 25 Posted April 16, 2012 Heh, well if u want u can hit me up through steam for some rounds too (check my signature). Unfortunately my spring break just ended. Well i guess since you're all discussing about small normal coop missions (I'd like them too if i had a more organized group), I'll share a little sneak peek of what I'm working on. Its a random mission campaign of a collection of mission (so far selecting parts on picking which faction, how many players/bots, and other stuff are done) just going to need to make good old fashion scenarios now. Just got to select what faction to play as, how many players (i put up to 13 mainly focusing on small groups), then the squad you want, then which island, then a level where it randomly select which missions to play. Just group respawns none of the instant or base respawn revive stuff. I'm sure the host button for campaigns should probably work out fine.
