[TvT/FFA/CO-40] Dynamic Zombie Sandbox

OK after a few hours of play noticed a couple of things.

These may or may not be related to anything.

1. Placing stuff floats about 1M off the floor.

2. Really strange lag every now and then, goes to about 2 fps

3. Strangest bug Ive ever seen, like head bug but throws you into like a sideways commander mode view with no menus (which reminds me - a head bug fix script on radio might be nice ;) )

4. spawn time over 3 minutes is a bit much - 180 seconds might be a better balance between fun and 'try harder'

5. Really strange sync problems - 2 players in same area like in their own worlds (might be server overload at certain junctures)

6. AI Base mission could not be completed

7. strange time synchronisations - some people at night some in day - think this is something to do with JIP

Anyway hope these help - awesome mission.

Try to download the test version again as it seems like he reuploaded a version where placing logistics works, and that clients can see weapons in buildings/on the ground.

To craig: Tried the reuploaded version and I LOVE IT! :D You rock man!

Would like to add though -

No night vision goggles anywhere.

Would rather find them than start with them, but doesnt seem to be any.

Have selected 'through mission' setting

Also TvT chat doesnt seem to work, both bluefor and opfor can read same team chat.

Additionally, dont know if helps but noticed massive lag seams to coincide with setting up of a new side mission

If I pick up a weapon and then drop it to pick up another weapon the last weapon I had dissapears from the face of the earth :(

Uhm, I believe this is some error in arma 2 engine? Correct me if I'm wrong.

This also happens on Dayz (never experienced it on other missions, but I doubt I have ever tried to replace a weapon that's on the ground with my already equipped weapon)

Can someone confirm this happens on other missions as well? Otherwise I might try it myself tomorrow.

this never use to happen to me on other missions I am sure of it but I could be wrong tbh.

I am sure it use to drop your old weapon where the new one was.

I am using no BETA patches though so may be fixed in the latest one I am setting up BETAs on me dedi server tomorrow

NVG's have a 10% chance of spawning in a vehicle if you select that option.

All the sides are friendly to each other. It is so the zombies work better, because their AI doesn't refer to the players as an enemy.

I'll check up on the massive lag, thanks for alerting me.

I've never heard of this issue, but it might be an engine error I suppose. Try putting your gun on the ground, and then picking up the other gun.

Ah ok yeah I will try that tomorrow putting my gun down first then seeing if it stays I have tunred of me PC now so cant test.

Thanks for this mission its great fun I really cant wait to see all the ACE gear in it to I cant imagine how cool it would be with the crew served weapons and chem light and all the other cool things ACE add :).

So if we did want a true TvT experience, would making the zombies civilian be an option?

or does that cause further problems?

If not would squads be possible to create (to use squad chat) similar as in the Domination squad dialogue?

I think there was a script on another mission (patrol ops 2? ) which scored squad v squad on the same side.

EDIT

Server been running most of the day.

Cant get into the mission myself as stuck on Zombie splash screen after loading mission with 'loading mission components' in top left corner.

Others seem to have joined but did notice yesterday alot joining and leaving after about 60 seconds - this might be the reason.

I have a problem with this mod, when I start a game and enable the parameter "Start with weapon" I don't start with any weapons. when I enable construction I can't use construction. ammo cashes in towns also not found, and is there a way to find weapons without the ammo cashes in towns.

I also got some weird errors in the middle of my screen sometimes saying that I don't have some cfg's which I can't find on the forums or threads.

could someone please help me.

Are you using any mods with this mission?.

all so do you run a dedicated server or hosted?

Umm I have only tested this mission on dedicated so cant say about any issues that may arise from hosting.

As for the CFG this mission does not have any that dont come pre packed in the mission PBO so for this mission to work all you need is the mission file.

Ah one thing though what version of ARMA2 do you use as I think this version only supports combined not ARMA2 free etc I may be wrong again though LOL

I am using the full version of ARMA 2 and I use the version 1.11.86734, I could try making a dedicated server with the steam download and try that out.

when I use my dedicated server I lagg very much I think because there are spawning like 10000 zombies.....

I didn't get the CFG error in dedicated server, but I'm not sure about the weapons because of the lagg

Yeah hosting a dedi server and playing from same machine can cause lag depends on your system.

Did you turn down zombies to spawn per KM? even on me dedi I set it to 10 try that it MAY help enough for you to test unless you all ready did :(.

If not try to connect to some one elses server running this mission.

ok zombies per KM is on 20 that's fine but I still don't spawn with a weapon is it because I'm civilian?

ammo cashe still not working it seems to me, have searched 2 whole villages.

is there something wrong with the mission I downloaded?

Hi there this mission is test so there will be bugs.

Yeah maybe it is cus your civi try blufor they deffo spawn with a secondery weapon.

And just make sure you do have start with weapon on not off or random.

Even on my PC I never spawn with a primery weapon if this is what you mean.

I all ways set it to spawn with weapon and all ways spawn with a pistol.

Maybe we are suppose to spawn with a primery weapon (rifle) if so then yes this never happens for me to.

As for the weapons caches I have only ever found one so maybe they are just rare whice is good.

I find even if I set the amount of cars and weapons to the lowest I still find to many in one area in my opninion.

Is there a way to let everyone spawn with only pistols and no primary weapons?

and where do Ammo Boxes spawn in the towns, in or outside houses?

oh and when I try to use the test version 1.0 I get an error that I can't run it because I got not the right downloadable content?

Which one did you download? The test version or v95 for A2? Because I believe the test version is for CO (might work on OA, have not tried it)

EDIT:

Ok I missed the post above me, and yea as I said I think the test version 1.0 is for CO / OA.

About the A2 version 95, I tried it a few days ago and I didnt find any weapons in vehicles.

Ammo caches normally spawn somewhere in the town (outside of buildings, may be on the street, in a backyard etc)

Just a few more bits and pieces additional to my previous post for bug hunting purposes:

Zeds are still walking through placed objects

reducing zeds per km to 10seems to reduce the big lag spikes.

certain ammo crates still floating when placed.

Objects when placed close to others 'jump' to different postion (collision detection?)

As at the monet its pointless being able to place objects like barriers etc as they can walk through them any ways.

Played for 2 hours last night and had great fun really love this mission cant wait for ACE version and all the fixes :)
