jeza 5416 Posted July 23, 2011 Do you really want world peace under the present conditions?Oppressed shouldn't fight their oppressors? Slaves give their owners a flower and everything will be ok? I think people mean it in the sense that just why can't we all just get along. If someone offered world peace for all ie nations and ethnicities being peaceful towards each other, I don't know anyone who would say no to that. Unfortunatly no one is offering that though. World peace can only be accomplished after worldwide liberation occurs through world socialism, in a world without imperialism and class oppression. People will always fight and shoot each other but nothing says that other people should fight wars in the interests of a minority that want to make profits on other people's blood. And there are huge differences between countries, you can minimize violence and crime by offering good lives to everyone. There's money, the problem is how it is distributed. Those who actually work only get the crumbs of the bread they are baking while the owners and their armed lackeys get the lion share. Innomadic 10 Posted July 24, 2011 Its easy to say the owners get the lions share, but i think that statement ignores the fact that to get to those positions of power they worked hard themselves in their own field (unless the title is hereditary, THEN its silly). The difference between compensation for productivity and actual product value is profits and it clearly shows that profits have sky rocketed in that time. Capitalists have had a big surplus and actually taken the labor from their subjects and borrowed it to the very same subjects as an investment (interest pays off). It doesn't matter if people "worked hard" (people with two jobs probably work the hardest but still get the least). Work doesn't pay off in capitalism, ownership does. If you own other people's work that is (which is possible thanks to the liberal monopoly of violence). But of course, if you work hard (and continue to do it) you should get a share according to your contribution. That's what socialism is about.
