ArmA 2 Free - compatible missions

Recommended Posts

I was eager to jump into any ArmA 2 mission that does not require addons. I started off here http://www.armaholic.com/list.php?c=arma2_files_scenarios_spmissions&s=count&w=desc but the first one I tried gave me an error

no entry 'bin\config.bin/cfgworlds.0'

The mission is Behind Enemy Lines by laggy http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=6271

Can we start sharing ArmA 2 Free compatible missions to avoid blind-hunting for a working mission to complement that one shipped with the game already?

Edit:

This mission works and it's PERFECT to quickly jump into action in ArmA 2 Free!

Bucic this mission should work in general, yet it might be due to being packed with old

tools rather than a2 tools.

Can you please upload your RPT after trying to load the mission:

Thanks Bucic

Sorry for cluttering up your topic :)

My advice reopen it, and ask an admin to rename this one and move it to the troubleshooting section.

Now I tried the said mission with A2F and it works here.

Your RPT shows a couple of issues - which might be the reason:

Warning Message: No entry 'C:\Users\hg1\Documents\ArmA 2\ArmA2Free.cfg.3D_Performance'.
Warning Message: No entry 'C:\Users\hg1\Documents\ArmA 2\ArmA2Free.cfg.adapter'.
Warning Message: No entry 'C:\Users\hg1\Documents\ArmA 2\ArmA2Free.cfg.Resolution_Bpp'.

Are you using win7 or vista? Did you make sure to launch the game as admin?

If you did, try to delete the said file and try it again. These errors should not show up.

Warning Message: No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgWorlds.0'.
Warning Message: No entry '.cutscenes'.
Warning Message: Size: '/' not an array

These should not happen. It might be related to the one above.

Can you try it again after having the above sorted please.

You should post CTD in the CIT. It will help BI to fix em.

Now that we are at it - are there well-balanced coop missions for 4 and less people that are also more than just "clean the village" or "stealth at night"?

And by well-balanced I of course mean that you don't get 30 kills by the end.

4 and less doesn't mean that your side must have 4 and less soldiers, it may be a part of a bigger offensive/defense

I've made a few custom levels on Utes where a group of partisans attack the airfield held by the ChDKZ insurgents. The problem is that when we play it's normally only two of us vs. the AI, and that only lends itself to insurgent/guerilla warfare. I hate commanding AI subs so guerilla warfare it is...

What is the difference of the free version? Wouldn't any mission be playable as long as it does not have addon's? Can the free users play MP with OA content or only A2?

free users can play with plain A2 content only so, if someone made a mission for the full version of ARMA 2 without any OA content, ARMA 2 Free players can still play.

As for the guys looking for simple clear the village and 4 man stealth mission stuff. Nkenny's lite mission pack (yes its lite for a reason :P low script low size but pretty decent for ARMA 2 Free) shall do the trick
