Danial Craig in CGI: Next Bond film. Worst idea ever?

Recommended Posts

James bond is obsolete, at least the old style one with the evil enemies with volcano hideouts.
Then I guess at 25 years old I'm obsolete since I love the cheesy bad guys with volcano hideouts and plans for world domination with a white Persian cat in their lap...

I love those bad guys^^

Somehow I can´t stop thinking that many people only enjoyed Casino Royale because of the Poker scenes....

I did- and scenes like it. It was nice to see some spy drama and tension in a spy film. I think that was completely lacking in Quantum of Solace.

I didn't like James Bond at all until Casino Royale. Craig is a good actor and I even think that Quantum of Solace is a good movie.

Back to the OP here, where in that article does it talk about CGI? Are you mental or something?

Read the thread.. Kthnx. This was discussed on the first page. There is only 3 (now 4) pages.

Poker & Aston Martin DBS. 2 things why i loved the movie before seeing it. Afterwards i loved Daniel Craig too.

Oh, and that blonde girl of the hotel staff Bond uses to find out who drives that classic Aston Martin. Cute. :)

How could you possibly enjoy the appearance of the DBS when all it did was go around a slight bend and flip over?

Brosnan fans?!!?

I'm an Old' school Bond head (yep, Connery baby!) and thought when Roger Moore took over, Bond had steered toward more of an effiminate decorum *erhm erhnm cough*.

But Brosnan? I mean Bond wins 99 outta 100 fistfights and needs a lil jaw to him -pretty sure Pierce would get regularly fucked up by his hairstylist.

Craig's got a lil more jaw and grittiness -Royale was a winner for me (yep, like the Poker tension as well).

And for whomever said Craig just tries to look cool for the camera....

He's James Bond dammit! They're all smarmy as hell!

Yeah apologies :) Kneejerk reaction to outrageous claim.

Connery was clearly the best Bond, Moore was just cheesy and wooden. Some of the Roger Moore stories were just mad too like Moonraker. As for the Brosnan Bonds, Goldeneye was superb and Die another day was just shockingly awful... Aston Martin Vanish... no.

Producers have realised that you can't just stick a load of gags and gadgets together to make a film and call it James Bond any more and so the remake of Casino Royale had to be much more realistic (as much as you can with a Bond film). QOS was ok really as an action movie, if you regard it as the second half of Casino rather than a film in its own right then it works well. It is the third Craig film that will either make or break him as Bond imo and he could go either way to best ever or worse than Lazenby on the strength of the coming film.

If I had that same kneejerk reaction in the first place, I would not have made such a post and I would have had saved myself some embarassment. Unfortunately, I did not. Oh well, at least it's a good thread after the misinformation. The conversations about peoples' opinions of James Bond are fun to read :)
