September 1939 Mod

Recommended Posts

@topas

Great looking tanks and armoured cars.

I got a question for now you focusing only on vehicles, or you making infantry units to [polish, rkka and wehrmacht]. Mayby you got some pictures to show or for now soldier are not ready for pictures, w.i.p.

Trzymam kciuki za waszego moda :) i nie moge się go doczekać. Powodzenia w pracy.

The infantry is on its way, although coming along really sloooowly....

Actually we'd like to have the gear and weapons finished before we show anything up close. The weapons are only half-mapped and textured at the moment, plus, due to the scaling of the weapons (not done yet) the holding animations are not right yet. The models need much work; modelling the epaulettes, collars, some more gear.

Last time a major WIP update on the infnatry was made back in February, when most of the equipment appeared.

some pics in our forums

Without normalmaps and shadows (as shown) it looks rather boxy for now.

Plus, the pics are outdated, as I changed many of the textures already.

For the Wehrmacht I have the M36 Feldbluse done for now only...

Y-straps on texture as a placeholder, will be of course modelled.

SEPTEMBER 1939 MOD

R E C R U I T M E N T

A N N O U N C E M E N T

w39rekrutacja1copy1copy.jpg

Hi people;

the content planned originally turns out to be a bit too much for us at the moment. We're a small team consisting of people busy with their RL issues. A pair (or even better few pairs!!) of skilled eyes and hands would be more than welcomed!

We have a lot of projects started (these would need normal maps, shaders, proper shadows, sounds etc.), a lot of models still in need of UVmapping, content acquired from 3rd parties waiting to be ported over (civilian cars, airplanes) and even more that still needs to be modelled.

Please, if you're a modeler -> visit our boards to see the blueprints collection and get the idea what's still to be done.

Hope to hear from you and looking forward to work together on some exotic vehicles,

structures, objects, interesting features or whatever is needed atm.

With four factions, and a whole pre-war world to recreate - there can't be no boredom

At first I thought that you guys still had a ton of stuff to do based on the blueprints section, but then I looked at the earlier pages and saw that you've already done more than a few!

Got a list of vehicles that still need to be done?

Sorry to doublepost (if possible, please delete the above post)

Still a lot to be added there, yet, now all is in alphabetical / vehicle type order and divided in done/wip/to do. Should be easier for everyone.

Will try to do the rest + do the same for the Germans and Soviets

I couldn't quite figure it out, but what is the megaphone/old-school horn thing that I see on some tanks?

Oh, cool...I wasn't sure, and there was nothing that I saw that explained it. :)

I wonder what they sounded like...lol.

Thx, the artillery is still in the waiting cue... But I can show something more that'll be there for the Germans. Texturing it this very minute.

Furtehrmore we're busy with adapting a little gift from our Finnish friends to our needs now:

Thx,SFG & ProfTournesol

Today, something German, something Polish and something civilian :)

- The 'jeep' is a 1936 Stoewer R180 Spezial le.gl.Einheits-Pkw Kfz.1, one of many (and I really mean many!) types of cars used in the Wehrmacht before the era of the famous VW Typ82

- The tank is something we will turn our attention to at a later time. Then we will discuss it in detail; including the information on the author of this beast (Thx man!). I shall only say; loosing tracks is no problem for this one ;)

- The civie is an 1920's / early 30's sport coupe, a Polish CWS T-1

Thx stephsen

Decided to extend today's WIP report with what am I doing at the moment:

66575664.th.jpg581d.th.jpg

This is not only the Fiat508 being textured from scratch (adding interior detail missing in my previous attempts) but gives a small glimpse of the weapons, something we have not shown yet as much as the vehicles.

What polish map, where, which post, when? :p

Seriously, we're still just too far away from making a map (no time and manpower), so all I can do for now is point you towards our terrain reference gathered for the possible future looks of it.

(this covers only the eastern regions of '39 Poland though)

http://www.w39a2.fora.pl/polska,34/ref,122.html

The rest was/is not as flat and swampy. Some of the bloodiest battles were fought in a mostly hilly terrain, like here, at Węgierska Górka fortified positions.

But as said, it's just too far away to say anything. For the start, if we shall be making a map, this will be something smaller for sure

Sadly, this mod will not be really playable. I'd just look all day at the models and crash in some trees all the time, not watching the street :(

@ Mr. Charles:

Once the mod is finished i´ll provide a small beginners map without trees and all the stuff which is not needed anyway... :)

Your work looks realy promising Topas..
