What's up with the Glock?

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this was present with previous versions, but as of 72418 I'm seeing some very odd behavior with soldiers equipped with the G17 (e.g. KSK team), specifically they are often preferring it to their long guns when they still have plenty of ammo. Just watched an MG36 gunner try to have a firefight with one at 300m. Didn't work out to well.

In a related issue, if the MG36 gunner happens to choose to actually use his MG36, he will fire it as a long continuous series of single shots, which sounds very odd.

It's been the case since OA's release, maybe you just got lucky and only recently suffered from it. As I recall it's a bug that's been plaguing these games since Resistance. I can't think of any solution to the problem myself that could be made community-side (aside from removing the AI's pistols entirely), so I think it's something BIS can only fix.

I (aside from removing the AI's pistols entirely)

And that's exactly all one can do.

Yep, first thing I do when I start a mission is go thru their inventory and remove any sidearms. Sometimes they won't ever use them, but then sometimes they won't put them away...very odd

They also tend to get stuck a lot when they switch to their sidearms. Best to get rid of them.

AFAIR AI getting stuck with pistols was largely fixed in AA2 - but now it's a big problem in CO all over again.

i never saw the use for pistols anyway, i just remove them for those units. Just replace the pistol and its ammo with some good M433 rounds and you're good. Probably does a better job too.

I only really noticed it the other night when they were attacking a jeep, they preferred to use pistols instead of riffles or machine guns.
