max power 21 Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) From Ofp time...still in present day, is the most pathetic response;i'm sick of it.In what game u have the the opportunity to make CAS(flying some wings) for your infantry/vehicules who are fighting on the ground.NONE So...yes, BIS we need a proper flight model(..........), physics but something not very complicated as DCS or Falcon, but a LOFC2 simplified version. To answer your question: The Battlefield Series The Call of Duty Series The OFP Series Soldner Note that the flight model in this game is better than the ones in those games To question your answer: How is this flight model not proper? You have stated that what you mean is not a high fidelity flight model, so what do you mean? Edited August 6, 2010 by Max Power

Mudkip 0 Posted August 7, 2010 Do you get blurry peripheral vision when you're in a fast moving vehicle IRL? No but it gives the illusion of speed, it doesn't matter if there's no motion blur IRL, this is a game, it's not trying to simulate real life.
Beagle 684 Posted August 7, 2010 it's not trying to simulate real life.well that's exactly what it is trying to do!
TechnoTerrorist303 10 Posted August 7, 2010 Flying in general in Arma 2 could do with some improvement, as I've said in other threads I'd happily pay for a DLC that introduced a more realistic flight environment, certainly for fixed wing aircraft. Please think though, if helicopter flight was modeled realistically, how many people would actually be able to fly it effectively?

No one I assume, as the matter of fact, being a game thats work in a home computer makes 100% realistic flight model unplayable simply because you are not in the aircraft yourself

Thats an addon I would certainly buy! I'm all for improved realism with better flight models etc. in this series but I also understand that BIS is performing something like a "juggling act". I guess it is all about compromises for them to be able to pull off a "combined arms" game/sim on this scale on normal PC hardware, but who knows, maybe someday we will get improved flight model etc... PS: I'm not thinking DCS:BS/F4:AF modelling here with all avoinics but more realistic than what we currently have... /KC Edited August 7, 2010 by KeyCat
THEAnimalMother 0 Posted August 7, 2010 What i would like to know is it possible to add an action like "Take over controls"? I believe in "real" the copilot "shadows" the controls while fling into a hot LZ so he can take over just in case the guy holding all the responsibility gets zapped. thx
TechnoTerrorist303 10 Posted August 8, 2010 That would make sense, I am pretty sure that there would be safety features in place rather than the co-pilot just having to say "oh well, the pilot's dead... I'll just sit here and crash".
nodunit 397 Posted August 8, 2010 There are but afaik the only way to do this ingame is to, once the pilot is dead use a command via action menu or something to swap seats.. Problem is to be pilot you have to directly swap to the pilots seat you can't get the controls where you are. It would be a helpful feature since it's not used in just crashes, it's been used in rescue ops as well.
