Soldier of Anarchy 10 Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) Some people here might remember the mod for HL1... many won't. It was a game that pretty much ended "dumb and gun" fps shooters for me. Apparently they just went full release and are still balancing things, but when they work out the bugs it'll kick COD/MOH multi player's ass. For a free mod it can't be beat, although it still can't hold a candle to the ARMAverse. Firearms has a really troubled development history. I think the original team was frustrated by someone that basically stole their name and started developing a parallel mod that was very much the same as the original. The Firearms team got no help from valve (which I think was grooming them in the same way that counterstrike and dod was groomed), so they sort of fragmented. They were working on a number of different things, and slowly plugging away at Firearms. Big Dawg KS 6 Posted July 28, 2010 Been playing for a few hours these past few days, and while it's a decent start, they have a long way to go to live up to the original goodness of FA in HL1. Perhaps they should start with the sound... oh god is it awful. And people complain about ArmA 2's sounds... FPDR Still, the potential is there and it's already pretty fun.
