alx 20 Posted July 9, 2009 This must have been talked about elsewhere, and I'm sure it's in the manual, but who reads the manual! :p Anyway, I've made a specific post about this as I think it needs to be advertised much more. I was completely unaware of it until I read about it in a forum post where it was discussed only in passing. Go to Singleplayer/Scenarios and choose "My missions..." Within that, you can choose to create a new mission. What then starts is a wizard that is quite intuitive and makes really neat random singleplayer missions for you based on some simple parameters you set. They aren't the most realistic missions, but this facility basically makes ArmaII an infinite singleplayer experience. Well this may have been an Arma1 mod that's been developed by BIS, but who ever though of it needs a lot of cudos. It's genious.
Master gamawa 0 Posted July 9, 2009 A wizard you say? Wait.. you are not talking about the mission editor, right? Is it a mission generating wizard? Is it related to Warfare in any way? I would check but I am at work right now.
JoeyNickel 10 Posted July 9, 2009 Is it a mission generating wizard? If you want to name it that way, yes.
mrcash2009 0 Posted July 9, 2009 This is nothing new and in Arma 1, plus its documented fully in the manual (unless you didn't get DVD box version and no manual sent to you). That said, it is very nice for quick setups and random SP play, good for SP players for sure.
Master gamawa 0 Posted July 9, 2009 I seriously didn't know that. I made everything from scratch since OPF so I never came across this.
Thirdup 0 Posted July 9, 2009 Heh, the wizard was in OPFP and then ArmA. It is quite handy for creating a quick mission. I had forgotten about the SP version, but used the MP one on many occasions. Great way to toss up a quick flag match or what have you.
stun 5 Posted July 9, 2009 (edited) @mrcash2009 It is documented in the manual - I wouldn't go so far as saying it is "fully" documented. For instance how do you close the edit waypoints dialogue box. I can right click on the waypoint, change the waypoint type, behaviour etc... but I can't close the dialogue - the same applies to Arma! I have given up hoping for an answer to this question as no one seems to know. Edited July 9, 2009 by stun Fixed typo
Uziyahu--IDF 0 Posted July 9, 2009 Heh, the wizard was in OPFP and then ArmA. It is quite handy for creating a quick mission. I believe the wizard was introduced in Operation Flashpoint: Elite and then carried over to ArmA 1 and so on.
nominesine 0 Posted July 9, 2009 Maybe I am imagining things but... wasn't the Wizard always in the game?!? I've never even touched OFP:Elite. I'm quite sure there was a Wizard before Armed Assault though.
