Need help to convert a OFP Addon to Arma OA

ill give it a shot if i have some free time. Who made it exactly?

To be honest I don't remember.

It was a long time ago when I was playing OFP.

Mayne somewhere in one of the files he may have posted his name.

Sounds like no proper permission. Unless the readme of the addon says otherwise, converting stuff isn't allowed. You should try to contact addon creator if possible. Else you're unlucky.

In his profile is also a ICQ number, maybe worth a try there aswell. If you reach him, tell him to send you a email or a PM here on this board.

Hope you have luck with it.

If you get no response, after a reasonable time you might contact Placebo about this matter. He might have access to contact info that is hidden from public. He can also tell you what you have to do about it. There was/is a thread about this somewhere but couldn't find it. Maybe you have more luck.

Excellent work, Diealot, and a good example that the effort is worth it. Keep the originasl mail on a safe place, just for the case.

Fox '09, seems you got work to do. ;)

Hopefully you get a good scripter as i have an idea on how to make ballon riding somewhat between realistic and still controllable.

Use wind settings as base data, direction aswell speed. Assume this data is ground level. Use velocity commands to control vertical movement by the player. You sould create the ballon without regular vehicle physics so gravity will not make it fall down.

Now for horizontal movements, rotate winddirection for XX degrees every YY meters in altitude. Use velocity commands aswell to make it move.

If you find someone who can script this with smooth velocity adjustements and correct vector calculations, it would be a very unique experience ingame.

Just think , it could be used as a stealth bomber. No engine noise. Enemy would never know what hit them. Great for night Ops :)

well since its air-vehicle, maybe a gunner with m230 and few sidewinders wouldn't hurt. Also flares are a must :yay:

I noticed in the ammo box some rocks, maybe we could drop rocks on sleeping AI :)
