    Odd video issue

    ....That's what I was thinking. Are you using a lappy? Small amount of dust buildup and parts start to overheat. Big PC with proper cooling? VC going to pot, or just getting to hot.

    Do you have cooling controls (MSI for example) set up properly for it. Excessive heat can distort textures. I might tend to agree,....a bit,....if there were others having the same issue. I haven't seen to many so far.

    Ravage

    I have made my way along for a few hours on the base Ravage mod just getting a feel for it. I do have a question. I have found some "dirty" water and also some water purifying tablets. How do I use these items? I read on the opening post that I should double tap the item in the inventory window but nothing happens. Is there a tut' anywhere that might explain how I should use the functions? Thanks

    I haven't played long so I don't know if fps's will be impacted but if they are, and if you looking for a way to gain fps, (might be quite minor but avery little bit helps) you might contact Rydygier. He has placed a feature in his mission (Pilgrimage) in the supports menu to "clean up dead bodies and wrecks". This might or might not work here.

    I love it. I use it all the time, particularly when the intel tells me about enemy presence but I can't spot them. A good example would be if I was informed about enemy and they were the type that are just standing inside various buildings, ready to ambush you as you carelessly stroll through, I'll con them out in the open with some cash. One thing I think I have noticed is that the decoy only works at around 400m or less. Could be just a my findings and not really true every time. @Ryd I know you said many times that you were done with the mission but I would like to make a suggestion. I play on very hard which seems to only make the beginning of the mission more difficult, which is quite alright. Once I obtain the few basic items that fill out my gear, the rest of the mission is basically now on "easy". I was wondering if it would be possible to remove the enemy presence intel hints that you get, say from the UI settings at the start of the mision. I've done away with the hud altogether and would like to experience the, searching for enemy, at a more difficult level. One other thing that comes to mind is, I haven't noticed helo's or patrol boats dropping off reinforcements. Was that some other version that got scrapped or maybe added by one of the other users that got involved a little while ago? I can't keep track of all this stuff.
  11. I was just about to put in a long explanation about this very issue. Glad I read through a few pages first. So evidently this is a known (ongoing) situation? Just to add to the quote, I am also having an issue where my "saved game" becomes corrupt and and un-reloadable. Just wanted to get this in quickly but if info is needed, just holler.

    Cheater! Hack! Not really but then again you have to keep in mind, Pilgrimage was made for a much larger map. So, your parameters on startup should be altered to be a bit lower, enemy/vehicles wise. There just isn't enough real estate for everything. On Chernarus I play without the chopper SAD. I do like the frustration of having to pick through crappy loot/vehicles though. It makes you think long and hard about what to do.

    OMG, I would never have thought that. Thanks for bringing it up. It just so happens that I am quite far into my current mission, (Pilgrimage, what else?!!!) and my fps are steadily tanking. I have never had this amount of problems before regarding the fps, at least in SP. MP, well that's a different story. @BB I am using quite a few other mods so just take these findings, at least from me, with a grain of salt. I'll test this a little more in the near future.     Enhanced Movement

    Hello Mr. Benson I have a few punch items I thought you might want to know about. 1) If I am standing, I switch from pistol to rifle, my charactor goes into a crouch position and performs surgery on the gun, indeffinately until I move. Moving, breaks the cycle. 2) If I have binocs or range finder ans switch to rifle my charactor does a short but fast jig and goes to one knee. 3) If I hop over a fence, at times, not always, I will flop to prone and stay there. I have video if you need it. Let me know. Arma 1.54 I have tested this with only EM in the editor.
  18. If you open the @TPW/addons folder you will a collection of pbo's and .bisign files. Using the PBO manager (which is really just another .zip utility), extract the sounds.pbo. In there you will see the cat sounds. you can take out or rename the cat sound files to say .xxx to completely remove them. I'm not sure how to edit those files to reduce the frequency. That's probably done in a config file somewhere.

    If you don't like certain ethnics, you could remove/backup the pbo (s) in the C.U.P Units pack. I have since switched from AiA to C.U.P but it should be the same process.

    Pilgrimage on Cherno ! WTF? Part of the C.U.P pack. Totally changes the Pilgrimage experience! Sometimes you get good stuff, sometimes you get nothing but crap.
  22. @ Stormforge I asked this a little while ago so I hope you don't mind if I ride along on your post. ...from post #3123 When I play a coop mission with my buddy, we use ambient civilians and didn't like the clutter of information showing over them. I eliminated that by placing // in front of the entry. I also elimintated the information that you see on the lower roght hand of the screen like so,...changing the 1 to a 0 . edit: I should clarify where this file is located. Arma 3 default installation path would be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\UserConfig\TPW_MODS ... and the file name will be, TPW_Mods/hpp You'll have to set the file to "read only" so that when you create profile (if you use Gliptals UI) it won't revert back Thanks for looking TPW

    My answers are from my understanding. @pvt.philips The weather is dictated by the Arma engine however, you can change how it sounds, AND, what the weather will become. 1) to change how the "wind" or any other ambient sounds are you could try using a sound mod called Dragonfyre. http://jsrs-studios.com/ Sorry that this particular part of the answer is not what you are askinig about but I thought you might find it interesting. ...That's not really realistic is it? No matter, to each his own. 2) to change the weather itself you could try a mod called "dynamic weather". With this mod you can urge the weather to trend to whatever you find best suited for you. https://forums.bistudio.com/topic/168712-dynamic-weather-script-and-addon-tort-dynamicweather/ The coordinates are in the map menu. Check under messages to Alex or something. The locations of the strongholds change with each gameplay.

    If I may make a suggesstion to either BI or a talented modder. Make a separate option in game settings to adjust 1) fatigue............................................Slide Control/scale 2) stamina...........................................Slide Control/scale 3) Weapon Sway.................................Slide Control/scale 4) Breathing Sound Effects. ...............On/Off To be fair, these settings would also affect AI and/or Players on a given server. This is deffinately one of those times when I wished I was capable of understanding the coding needed to work on mods.
