    OFP Addon request thread

Yes, I am asking about OPF/CWA. Not Armed Assault, Arma 2, or Arma 3. The game from 2001 :) I want to mod it.

    OFP Addon request thread

Hey guys, is there anywhere I can learn to make addons for this game, or can someone help me? I can already model and make sounds, textures, etc. I just need to learn how to make them work ingame. What I would like to do is add new guns, new unit models and uniforms, new vehicles, etc. I would like to make a faction mod. Any help would be appreciated :)
  3. Hey guys, I'm trying to create a task for the player at the end of an .sqf but I don't know how to do this. I have the modules setup and they work properly, but I don't want the tasks to be created and shown under "Tasks" menu until the end of the .sqf. So basically I have an AddAction on a unit that executes "dialogue1.sqf". Dialogue1 then initiates some chatter between player and unit, and after the chatter I would like to have the task created. How can I achieve this?

Maybe as an added bonus to the DLC we can get proper animations for launchers? A custom animation for the MAAWS would be nice, opening the rear latch, inserting a rocket, and closing it. Premium animations for Premium DLC
  6. I am just coming here to commend Bohemia Interactive on how they are getting much better at designing missions. So far I've been having a really good time with Tac-Ops missions playing them in multiple different ways, and the Tanks DLC missions along with the showcases. They've been a lot of fun and I love getting immersed into the conflict of ArmA 3 with it's storyline. Really good job BI with these new missions. They have great pace, fun gameplay, great story, and overall just feel really great to play.
  7. Fun times :)
  8. Ahh didn't realize :) atleast that makes me feel better.
  9. Issues with "Disintegration Point" Best part about this mission once reaching one of the objectives is: it's the first time I've ever properly and intentionally used a claymore mine in ArmA. effectively. :)

Arma 3 Third-Party DLC Pitch Discussion

Will the 3rd party DLC recieve help and support from BI dev teams or will it be 100% developed by third party?

I Arma 3? or which game? I think it's fine for what it is and is not a priority. Theres not reason to bother improving flag cloth physics.
  12. You could combine both Pinnacle AND in-game control settings for functions such as double click or hold. That is what I did. As for movement and aiming, definetly use the in-game settings. Bind right stick to aiming up-down-left-right and left stick to movement. It tracks how much you are moving the analog and puts you into a walk at the half-way point, and full jog at full throttle. If you wish to discuss further send me a PM since it's rather off-topic.
  13. You don't need to use Pinnacle Profiler to use a controller for ArmA 3. Infact I would advise against it. I have created a controller scheme that works quite well for me although it is rather simple. Including Infantry, Helicopter, and Vehicular controls. Anyway, I have noticed a bit of an issue slightly affecting mission progression:

Flag cloth physics have been affected by wind speed and direction since Operation: Flashpoint (ArmA: Cold War Assault). It's been a thing in every arma game.

I think a fantastic idea for an additional singleplayer campaign would be some sort of Diplomatic Relations missions where you play as a representative of either FIA, NATO, CSAT, or AAF. Main premise of the story is you sitting in a meeting with other representatives of each faction discussing topics, and the player makes choices based on the dialogue on what to say. Certain topics can be involving conflicts that occurred during the war including war crimes or whatever, and the player can provide input regarding their represented faction. When a topic involving a conflict, individuals, specific events, or battles is taking place, it will become a playable mission and change based on the player's dialogue choices and responses during the talks. So say for example there is a discussion about a battle occurring in the town of Athira, but the topic is about some war crimes committed or questionable acts, or even just the representatives trying to get facts and information. Each faction could give their own opinion or ask questions. If you are a representative of the FIA, then say the AAF representative will be accusing the FIA of being the cause for high civilian casualties in the area whilst you can choose to blame the AAF and/or CSAT, or agree to the statement and continue on. If the blame is chosen upon the AAF or CSAT then the dialogue will cut and fade to the event being discussed, where you play as the FIA in question and experience the events as they actually happened, showing how the AAF/CSAT did infact lead to the death of civilians in Athira as a normal playable mission. If the statement was agreed upon by the FIA representative speaker, then the mission will be different in that it will show how the FIA was responsible for the deaths of the civilians. So based upon the player's choices during the talks, the missions change and expands the dialogue. This could be a highly replayable campaign in that the player has the ability to change the story and missions based on their choice of dialogue. Somebody make it happen and take my money.
  16. So far Bohemia, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'VE WANTED!!!!! It feels amazing playing missions in ArmA 3 that actually feel so much like ArmA! I enjoyed the East Wind campaign to a certain extent but Tac-Ops is by far the best and I love it. I currently have played the first mission of Stepping Stone as SF and it was great. I also started Beyond Hope but got annoyed when I was trying to move my team into position behind enemy lines (Alert or Stealth - didn't make a difference) while ordered to prone, but my AT kept equipping his AT launcher every damn time and was getting spotted because he was crouching or standing. This made it quite impossible to move my team as I desired so I took a break and started on Stepping Stones. The atmosphere of the missions are 10/10 and i'm impressed with how well the performance is. Great narrative and progression through the missions, and it's very nice having a briefing shown and explained to the player. Great job on that. The only issue I noticed were some of the subtitles were wrong and did not match the voice. One example of this is in the first mission of Beyond Hope. The subtitles say one team will move in from the East, but the voice says West (or the other way around). I really love how the missions aren't loaded with full 12 man patrols and 40 man bases often seen in community-made missions that keep me from playing them on the workshop. Everything is kept to a realistic degree while maintaining challenge and fun factor. Definitely will be replaying these missions as there seems to be quite a number of things to do and ways to go about each goal. Love the choices. Love the missions so far. Thank you Bohemia so much for finally making my wish of extended singleplayer content come true :) it has been very enjoyable so far and totally worth the price for content. It would be great to include one extra Operation for Apex owners on Tanoa later on as the Apex campaign just didn't satisfy enough. Missions with the gameplay and atmospherics of Tac-Ops on Tanoa would truly be amazing if it will ever happen. Edit: As mentioned before, the clickable text buttons on the briefing menu for Beyond Hope are not working properly and do not focus the map on the proper location.

How to get ArmA 2 content?

    Thanks :) that worked

    Adding Tanoa?

I think Tanoa would be a fantastic addition to Argo. It's a beautiful map and some fights in say a jungle camp and those villages, even the towns, would be amazing :) Please BI, add Tanoa maps! It would be great for change in scenery.

How to get ArmA 2 content?

I've tried to run this in command prompt but it's saying 'extractpbo' is not recognized. Is there something I need to run in the Arma tools for this to work?

    Adding Tanoa?

:( Me and a friend play Raid exclusively and its usually the same maps over and over again, and they've gotten quite repetitive especially since it's always the same ones over and over again. Even as little as 4 new sections would be a great addition, hearing this is a shame, though I can respect. I just think it would a nice support to the current playerbase quite well to add some new experiences. (By maps I don't necessarily mean new terrains, but new play areas such as MOUT, Houdan Farm, etc.). We both agree a bit more support for the game and it could really be a suitable competitive game. In-game clan sections like Units for arma would be great :D

    Adding Tanoa?

Well it's no secret we need new maps :)
  22. I remember playing it extensively about 2 summers ago. It was amazing and exactly what I wanted in arma, despite the low FPS making it unplayable at times. What made me stop? Mods take up a lot of space, player base was dwindling at a fast rate. Whenever I wanted to get on, the numbers were low and I didnt even want to bother. Playing a large-scale multiplayer game with only 15 players was simply boring. I would love to get into it and have more players on it especially with the new RHS updates, but my schedule is busy that it would be hard to make weekly events. I would love to just hop in a populated server at any time. Basically: no players. Large file sizes for mods.
