i've read your manual since the 1st day it released. I don't how to help them to increase radar range of the F-18. @saul / Spartan : How have you create the F-18 radar's ? -
@olds : i agree something goes wrong. Community create mod to increase realism, company reduce the realism. Now they have finished the campaign maybe it is the time to try to speak with some. Some guys like progamer seems to have good contact with dev. Since 2/3 day i saw oukej speaking on feedback trackers and the forum. Maybe he is the guy to speak with to create a dialog with devs.

On TOH many people were flying with mouse. You don't need to use too much high value just for the safety. If heli are pretty more realistic, that mean best maneuverability and danger to stall then people will love your mod because all flying gamer on arma want to have more realism for air part of ama.

A guy is modifying files to make a mod to increase helicopter flight. The first release is for the little bird. If BIS don't have the time to do it, help modder like this guy to achieve their mod and to do something great. Why integrate this mod to your game after ? both of Players & BI studio will be winner. +1 for physX integration.

@olds : thank for your mod. Why not trying to speak with dev, to integrate your mod to the vanilla game ? It will increase the realism and all player will be happy. It could be a good deal.

As darkside said, in arma you can reduce speed with helo without getting altitude. If you are full throttle in tactical navigation just be IDLE and increase pitch to maintain your height. I don't see where is the problem with that. But with helo, higher speed you go less control you have, it is working like an old airplane without electrical maneuver. Heli should react more than they are ATM.- 874 replies

Sorry. If my target is between AA. There is fog so i need to use GPS bombing. I open the GPS system to select my target. Then i need to find the square of the target ( mean i've identified my target in order to lock it after ). But to have the square, i need to be around 2.5 km or less from the target. The problem is, at 2.5 km of the target i'm in danger due to AA. That's why i need to fly as fast as i can, to avoid missile departure (i don't want to spent lot of time in AA area ). Then after getting this square ( by pressing TAB or T ) i go at long distance from the target. Then i can back at medium altitude ( around 2/3000m ) and medium range for arma ( around 7km) to get the diamond and drop my bomb in safety. Both things that could be improve : 1) Get the square at longer distance ( it is gps so it would be realistic to catch it at long distance ). 2) I feel that the diamond is scripted for one kind of speed ( around 500 / 550 km/h ). If i'm not at this speed i won't have the diamond to drop my bombs. The thing i want to say is, if i'm at bigger distance from the target, but at higher altitude and higher speed the energy should allow the bomb to reach the target so the diamond should appears earlier than it is at the moment. -

@oukej : Thank you for you reply on the feedback tracker, so let me write here what i remember for basics problems. I may forgot some because to be honest i was desperate to see any improvement. So thank you for the A3 community for you interest about air part of arma 3. Also, we know that we won't have a DCS on arma, we just need more "basics" to have little bit of realism when we are flying in arma. 1) Throttle is not well working ( it is close to pushing a key to accelerate and another to decelerate ). A real axe with a precise control of throttle would be very nice. 2) The ability to separate engine / brakes / air-brakes. If you perform a landing on grass with a C-130 for special operation, you can't take-off because you are not able to have full throttle on brakes (in order to reduce the take of distance). 3) We are unable to taxi with heli and link to the 1) we are unable to use the power to well taxi with airplanes. 4) A BIG PROBLEM : you reference for the speed is GROUND SPEED. So when we have wind effect on helicopter and aircraft we came to wrong situations. Example : Strong head wind at 180 km/H. Spawn in flight with your aircraft and reduce speed to 200km/h . You will stall because the reference should be the IAS ( indicated air speed) and it is the GS ( ground speed). The game understand that you can't flight at 20 km/h . Ok but is is 20 km/h of GS so we are still flying IRL. In heli strong cross wind, you should perform a flight at 0 km/h, but here the wind will push you and at a moment you will be forced to turn (the wind will come from the back) and you will have a speed of xxx km/h. IRL the move with the air mass, so there is no this kind of thing. 5) Maneuverability for helicopter and Airplanes could be improve. In fact with airplanes if you turn via ailerons you should turn due to the higher speed over the higher wing => more lift. At the moment you can flight at 90° of turn, straight ahead. About heli, i'm not the good one to speak about it but for real heli pilot it seems to be too arcade (really too arcade). Maybe more maneuverable ? I don't really know. 6) NO AMSL ! It is not possible to flight without AMSL altitude... Because At the moment all of your level flight depend of the surface below you. Over the sea you can easily maintain 2000m of level. Ok. Above the north West of Altis it is not possible and it is a PAIN. http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=14194 [^] 7) HUD are not always well working. Information are not readable during the night without NVG or when you have sun in front of you. Firing help on the hud are not where bombs or canon will hit the target. 8) Flaps have no effects on the stall speed. 9) Mass of the aircraft have no effects on landing distance, fuel consumption etc... 10) For FLIR the ability to have the dynamic view distance ( also on screen of the pilot, to see what the copilot is watching ). Oh ok. I achieve to lock at 2.5 km / 1000m of height but to drop bomb at 6/7 km/ 3000m of height , i have to come at 1000m of heigh, very fast to get the lock of GPS at 2.5 km and to avoid AA. Then i can climb to 3000m at 7km of the target to drop the bomb in a safe area xD. I will wait the next update >< . -

Hello, thanks for your mod. Will it be possible to have auto change to the next waypoint ? Your gps is very nice, and we can use it when flying, but we have to manually change the waypoint =/ -

Don't you feel that the GPS square appears very late ? I mean it is gps ... So we should be able to active the square very early , in order to (lock and) drop bombs at high altitude and long range. -

What you are saying is what i wrote (in a very simple way i guess, sorry for that) .... it is not because you move the stick, it depend of the AoA. :) I hope there is a way for Spartan and his friend, to improve the flight model by all possible things to do. Will you release a training version of the FA-18F ? The back seat could see the HUD of the front seat to allow training. Can't wait your update with JDAM, gps bomb will be nice. -

Leading edge flaps IRL move down when your AoA is too high or when you are using flaps. They SHOULDN'T MOVE when PULLING OR PUSHING the stick. -
I would be happy to have your vision but, see other BI games ... you can see without difficulty several games created and sold without any update. Some important part of the game are not allowed to be used by moder =/ The problem is : some basics problem in arma since the beginning are not solved and moder are here to add things in order to try to solve this kind of problems / to add stuff missing in the vanilla game. Before creating 10 DLC ( it is good yes i agree ), finish the basics. It is useless to go further if you don't have serious thing to work on. I know arma 3 team have very good developer, ideas ,etc ... But they just have to focus on basics then they can create all things they want to ! :) Maybe by this thread things will change in the good way. Maybe not.

Before combat manouver, just a real lift on each wing ? a real throttle control ? a real air speed indicator ( and not a ground a speed ), because if you have 200 km/h of front wind and if you hare flying at 200 km/h of IAS (indicated air speed), the game will show you 0 km/h of speed ... so you fall.... Just had few basic stuff to the flight model and it will change the air part of arma.- 874 replies

+1 nothing new ... they are working on ZEUS cool, but finish the game 1st please ... It is sad to see nothing changing ( example : 2000 vote for bi-pod since the alpha, and nothing change ). Hope BI will one day open eye and stop to think that people are buying and modding their game just to loose money.

Does switching from 8 GB PC 16000 CAS 7 to 16 GB PC 16000 will also increase performance ? Because i read on Arma 3 feedbacktracker, arma can go over 3,4, or 5 GB of RAM due to some tweak already into the game. I'm not a master of that so i can't explain how it works. But i never see anything testing the game with 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM. thank you. -
You can already play on it when you active A3MP mod. Just on CLAfghan for exemple you may have a dark wave on the screen.
