LeeManatee replied to LeeManatee's topic in ARMA 3 - SERVERS & ADMINISTRATION
i run dedicated server on dedicated machine in my local network, i run TADST as administrator i get very same result as on picture when i run server via shortut i get the same result aswell D:\Games\ArmA3\A3Master\arma3server.exe "-profiles=d:\Games\Arma3\A3Master" -port=2302 -config=CONFIG_Vanilla.cfg -world=empty issue stays. i'm able to connect, aswell as other people but no playernames nor extentions are shown. here goes config file i use. // // server.cfg // // comments are written with "//" in front of them. // STEAM steamport =2300; steamqueryport =2301; // GLOBAL SETTINGS hostname = "My Server: My Teamspeak address"; // The name of the server that shall be displayed in the public server list //password = "ServerAccessPassword"; // Password for joining, eg connecting to the server passwordAdmin = "4747"; // Password to become server admin. When you're in Arma MP and connected to the server, type '#login xyz' reportingIP = "arma3pc.master.gamespy.com"; // This is the default setting. Leave empty for private servers if you do not want your server listed publicly logFile = "A3Master.log"; //verifySignatures = 2; // WELCOME MESSAGE ("message of the day") // It can be several lines, separated by comma // Empty messages "" will not be displayed at all but are only for increasing the interval motd[]={ "", "", "", "__________ SYSTEM MESSAGES __________", "Welcome to My Server", "IMPORTANT Verify Signatures is enabled", "", "TS3 Server: teamspeak.mydomain.com", "Web: www.mywebsite.com", "TS3 Server: teamspeak.zeus-community.net", "__________ END OF MESSAGE __________" }; motdInterval = 5; // Time interval (in seconds) between each message // JOINING RULES maxPlayers = 40; // Maximum amount of players. Civilians and watchers, beholder, bystanders and so on also count as player. // VOTING voteMissionPlayers = 1; // Tells the server how many people must connect so that it displays the mission selection screen. voteThreshold = 0.33; // 33% or more players need to vote for something, for example an admin or a new map, to become effective //voteMissionPlayers = 0; // INGAME SETTINGS disableVoN = 0; // If set to 1, Voice over Net will not be available vonCodecQuality = 8; // Quality from 1 to 10 persistent = 1; // If 1, missions still run on even after the last player disconnected. -

Tutorial: Installation & Configuration of ArmA3 Dedicated Server
LeeManatee replied to terox's topic in ARMA 3 - SERVERS & ADMINISTRATION
do i really need to get windows server 2008 to run it or let's say windows7 or xp will be okay? -
a tutorial for useage of comms and overal organization is strongly required in order to make public arma 3 games to be any playable. ffs build in shack tac hud by default already and make a tutorial which says what channel to use when. for example exmplain people that they should talk on group channel when they talk inside a squad. make side channel restricted for squad leaders and ffs explain people how to use comms and may be just may be explain people the basics of teamplay withing a squad (2 fireteams concept) so atleast in arma 3 public gameplay would not be so miserable as it was since arma 1. scrubs don't know how to play within a team. make tutorial for them. explaining the basics of gameplay is devs job, not community thanks.

still better than no explanation at all. atleast some fucking video demonstration on how to use basic radio. and why.
-
they went after dayz and arma 3. some of them are completely hopeless cases, for example, people who run around as headless chichen with superiority complex over bf and cod players because they play arma, but have no clue how to work within a team or atleast some sort of organized gameplay. i guess tryhard is better term to describe it. thats the most amusing part, seriously.

New Helicopter flight model by HTR dev
LeeManatee replied to FredAirland's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
you can use rudder effective only on mid/low speed. on high speed it make your helicopter to shake from side to side but not turn. read chikenhawk -

What is the large red circle on the map?
LeeManatee replied to Magirot's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
keep it as option only. thats just bullshit to have it on expert difficulty -
no, we run server 24/7 and play coop then tvt then coop then tvt everyday if you never played at UO, please do not comment regarding how we play there by bits of quotes. thanks. we play both mission types one after another on madhouse we were playing stricly pvp for whole evning and thats why we were playing coop till the evning.

ask another friendly squad to confirm your kill. thats how it's done in arma and thats how it's done in real life.

greetings guys, i have a question/request. is that possible to make custom controls for TOH, for example controls for throttle for example: throttle on closed: "A" throttle on idle: "B" throttle on full: "C" in this case i will be able to set keys on axis zones in my joystick config tl;dr my intention is to set throttle control on axis so i can roll it like in real helicopter using one of scroll wheels on my joystick

check out "century of self" pretty much spot on our recent forum topics on "i didn't know - thats not my problem" which in short may be described as "proud ignorance" which become very common thing nowdays. aswell as consumership mindset "i bought it so i demand to get my fun" which lead to topics like "it's too hard, amke it easy" instead of investing time to learn to and so on.

so people now complain that they didn't read descriptions with BOLD font and marked with colors?

in most of helicopters you have two trims that fix main rotor in same angle and another is for tail rotor. so basicly 2 autotrims, in real helicoters, so it's realistic so i see no reason why we should not have one autotrim button ;)
