  1. I believe it is meant to see if any major problems exist between the builds. No crashing, no problems in joining internet games etc.
  2. My launch line is limited to -nosplash. Also config viewer in editor says http://puu.sh/3yHuY.png
  3. I get debug error in the main menu. http://puu.sh/3yHjf.png (160 kB)
  4. It's really fucking hard to jump to even small height when you have full gear on. You will most definitely stumble if you attempt to jump high.

    Improving Ragdoll

If all the all the energy from an M67 would be released at once on a 70kg weighing human, at optimal setup it'd launch the human three meters straight upwards. However, this does not happen. At best it rips off your legs and pushes you a few centimeters upwards. It will knock out everybody within 10 meters though.

    Improving Ragdoll

It is not allowed, but sure driving a car into a human will throw him around. Kicking a guy will throw him. But if you thrust a spear through a guy, it won't push him back if the spear is fast enough. A full metal jacket acts like a miniature spear going at high velocity. It will pass through from both sides. Also, remember that even if your torso would completely gain the kinetic energy of the bullet, it'd still kick a lot less than the gun on the shooter's end.

    Equiping items while being crouched

With most launchers the backblast blows and burns your legs if fired from prone position. Only light launchers a prone position is possible.

    low fps with 7970

This is why we can't have nice things. This is not the case.

    low fps with 7970

FPS limiter limits FPS. Vertical synchronization does a lot more than an FPS limiter. In most software the v-sync locks your FPS to a limit, which is dividable by the refresh rate of your screen so the result is an integer. It limits to the highest integer sustainable. So if you dip below 60 fps, your V-sync limits it to 30. If you go below 30 fps, your V-sync limits it to 15. This is called double-buffered v-sync.
  10. It is caused by the technique used in anti-aliasing in this game. Lower the anti-aliasing quality in-game and disable any driver-forced AA.
  11. How can you say that it's a non-essential feature? It's more essential than say, grenade launchers. It changes the entire gameplay to far more realistic direction.
  12. It's entirely intentional for you really do not want people to tell you how much they make love to your mother in a professional stream.
  13. The engine basecode was laid before 2001. For an improvement in "basic" things, such as the animation-transitions means that most of the code needs to be rewritten entirely and that means more than three years of constant engine work without any possibility making money off games. Video game studios do not survive even six months without some sort of constant funding. Missing documentary about coding is so normal and hateful stuff that you do not seem to believe it happens. It happens so extremely frequently on all code that some engines are better off being scrapped. RDR and GTA IV are running on RAGE engine, which took more than four years from one of the largest companies in the entire industry.
  14. Those modders do not directly profit from their work. Knowing that your content will be profited directly from is a much different feeling. When you know that the content you produce is capable of making money, you'll most likely stop producing it for free. At least, that's from my perspective as a professional concept artist.
  15. This community takes years to produce the content. Of course, I wouldn't know for I don't mod for this game.
  16. Because the concept of these games are similar to the ArmA.
  17. You can't take an addon as a professional studio. Most addons use things from other sources. If someone notices even a small copy from a copyrighted source, the studio gets in a world of shit. Trust me, it's easier/ saves time to simply make the assets yourself than to receive them from a community. The only option BIS has is to out-source the production of assets. This usually doesn't fall in the quality standards of a studio, as the out-sourced assets are not within the same level of quality as the other assets of a game. This means a large extra production cost and takes a lot of time. My solution is to have all your assets extremely high-quality, for the community of ArmA will bring the lower quality/ less time consuming content such as re-skins and simple models.
  18. I guess I should have put a disclaimer on it "Read with care, think about my comment for the few seconds you should to notice the rolleyes emoticon." It was a sarcastic phrase of the future whining, because the game misses out on something as insignificant as this. There is no -need-, but it's a very nice thing to have. The core mechanics of this game are beyond solid, they are superb. Now the little things, the polish, determines the overall impression the game leaves. Superb games are built of small details. Look at GTA IV. A lot of things that are not needed and most people do not even notice them but they happen to affect the gameplay. Things look and work as expected. Tank interiors are expected.
  19. Dead game on arrival, etc. But serious: Can they be modeled afterwards by a modder? How hard would it be?
  20. Hi! The rendering of distant terrain is linked to the ground detail setting. The higher it is, more accurate the terrain level of detail is in range.
  21. Haha, if they need to animate the fire-selector, maybe they should animate the moving parts of an LMG first. That isn't happening, so why do you think the fire-selector should be animated either? A little weapon shake and a click is all they do in BF3, and it's all good. Just a hint: read more white papers about Frostbite.
  22. Did you know, that BF3 does it by having the weapon shake. What's so hard about animating a small weapon shake and having a click sound play? That's how the leading technology giant DICE does it.

Please use the full spectrum of Steam

Because VAC is known by everyone. It's not very hard to bypass it. It's a steamworks and I really fucking hope that they integrate the Steam Browser instead of GOD AWFUL gamespy.
