  1. Hello, a new version of the mod is released. The deformed fur collar has been replaced with a much higher quality one. There's also more variations in uniform patterns and equipment, along with unit types. The classnames have been specified to avoid conflict and i've created a biskey for multiplayer.     to be honest, it looks kind of bad. originally supported this but now i think i'll be skipping this and waiting for swat 5 i mean the animation and rigging of the characters looks like it was done by an amateur. so stiff and unlifelike.

    you can always tell when someone is merely a superficialist and a sophomore when he thinks the modern military theme has been done to death. the entire arma series barely scratches the surface of what it is to be a mil sim. there is no need for time travel. just go in depth. i'm talking about more interaction and realism.

    they squandered a huge opportunity. lots of people are looking for a good astronaut simulator. if they had made astronauts and pilotable rovers and stuck it in the trailer, popularity would soar. now it's just glorified rc on mars
  5. any theory that purports to explain everything, explains nothing. anyone can add things to an existing model in order to make it compatible with known observations. this guy must have been the 50th person to come up with a "theory for everything".

    Don't worry about it, you're not missing much, unless you count the endless ctds, constant micro stuttering and plain bad optimization.
  8. that's ridiculous. alpha is the only time you can test these things for stability issues. beta only arrives once the build is deemed stable enough without further improvements to core optimization. do you know how difficult implementing rendering pipelines and extra cores are? that's not something you do in the beta, which is pretty much the finalization stage. don't hold your breath for true multicore, for some reason bis does not see the value in it. i guess they believe everyone still uses dual core system at best. :j:

    i'm fine without it. beards are becoming like a "tacticool" item thanks to medal of honor/warfighter. bis already missed the chance to include them for arma 2 and oa.

    Story problem.

    the story for all arma games are pretty much b-movie level stuff with little geopolitical reality. i just try not to focus on the big story arc too much. it would be nice if they went into more detail. like israel blowing themselves up with a nuke like they said they would if the enemy was at the gates, obliterating neighboring countries and allowing iran to steamroll them into one.
  13. way ahead of you. actually i have mouse sensitivity set just below half and i'm still spinning around like a top. i'm fine with cursor aim, but please when prone, have it set to deadaim or restricted in some way. in 3rd perosn you don't even see your character move its arms, just legs. that's some supreme upper body strength right there.

  17. i think it'll be like the aircraft carrier in arma 2. you could "take off" from it in an sdv. but maybe bis can surprise us and we will be able to walk around inside the submarine, enter the dry dock shelter to board the sdv. yes but no one cares about the arg

    what are you guys talking about? both launchers in the game seem to be advanced, multi launch systems, and both could explode an apc with one hit. i'm still waiting for a proper rpg that isn't just an rpg in name.

    the comm rose is cringe inducing and not any more intuitive than a list system. in fact it's less effective than a list system since with a list you can just press a key and then the corresponding number/letter. it can be easily memorized, it's faster, and you don't need to take up your entire screen or take you out of the moment to fiddle around with what are the equivalent of big colored buttons as if you're some kind of kindergartener or imbecile.
  20. root issue is the way weapon is put away. it's also related to equipping pistol and using binocular. both locks you in place. therefore, to make it less constraining, bis implemented these silly looking mach 3 hand animations. it's an unrealistic and unintuitive mechanism and the only reason is seems to remain is because the devs don't know how or don't want to change it. this would be as easily solved as introducing a new animation for dropping the weapon to the chest for actions like using the binocular and pistol, and allow for movement since the action is arm/upper body related. but apparently this would be a lot of work and bis would rather just stick with the ancient animation philosophy from ofp....at least this is their position for the time being.

    yes but backpacks aren't buoyant, it'll just sink or pull you down.

    hi, i was wondering is the sit prone posture accurate? i've seen sitting firing positions and it seems that the one featured in the game might be too low and loose? shouldn't the body be a little tighter and upright?

    yeah i've made a feedback entry on that issue as well. the same issues extends to handling turrets and mortars. the character just stays rigid. those are some good ideas there, especially based on something already in the game.

    i would say that's what happens when someone doesn't make the effort to google pictures of polish soldiers. but i gotta give him props for his prolificacy. he just keeps belting out those 2 minute reskin jobs. :p
  25. you're wrong. beta is very advanced into development. you won't be seeing any major changes to features. as for how people vocalize their problems, who cares, this is a game is rated m for adults, and that extends to the forums. people with fragile sensibilities don't belong here.
