BIS vision for Arma 3 and possible future installations
liquidpinky replied to fujix's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Naive I am not my friend, I go through life with my eyes open. I don't necessarily agree the decisions were made on revenue basis, other companies maybe, but not BIS as they are still technically their own publisher. I think a lot of the dissatisfaction may be caused by the "Snakes on a Plane" syndrome where too much customer input is regarded instead of letting BIS getting on with things and fulfilling their vision for the game. There are a lot of tickets for them to trawl through that are at best described as shite, must take them an age to just find ones worthwhile to sort. Some good came out of it but some bad also. I think the customers interference has become a problem, too many Chefs spoil the broth. -
BIS vision for Arma 3 and possible future installations
liquidpinky replied to fujix's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
So why didn't you ask that in the first place? As soon as people give you though out answers you decide to just change the subject or sweep it under the carpet. Have you thought that maybe mainstream has come more to the authentic or simulator side of things, tired with bullshit arcadey representations of what war should be and want to get a taste of the real deal. Say Arma never changes but mainstream does? -
A2 vehicles a solution or A3 lack of content?
liquidpinky replied to mistyronin's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
A lot of A2 content doesn't even support thermal imaging scopes for example, these thermal textures would all have to be added to non AO assets. A2 into A3 is more than just drag and drop. -
Buzzard turning slightly right on take off
liquidpinky replied to dezkit's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Although partly true jets have spinning compressor blades that will have more centrifugal force than a propeller, but these all counteract each other internal to the engine as that is how they compress the air in the first place. Would have to be a badly balanced engine to produce the torque that causes the aircraft to taxi and take off to one side, maybe the config doesn't have a defined difference between jet and propeller engine and treats the jet as a prop? Could even be as simple as the right wheel node being at a slightly different height causing the imbalance. -
Disapointed with the full release content
liquidpinky replied to Tyl3r99's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I am disappoint in final release, I love all the things except those fucking cluster bullshit mine from arty that I do nothing but step on all day long in MP games because some tincan camper wants to sit at the top of the board while contributing Fuck All to the team. So please BIS, get those extra CAS jets out so they can be bombed into the dark ages. Hell, I will even Laz them for the opfor team if that helps. -

Lol jet engine noobs, that is the exit compressor. You could have done yourselves a favour and googled what a jet engine looks like in the first place. BIS is in fact correct, go find another fault, it is easy to pick them in other peoples work. Just to add, if you look closely enough (think some of you are using 640x480 monitors) you will see that it is the same as clydefrog's picture, which I bet he never noticed either. -
Maybe they are saving them for the storyline. Lets face it, a railgun tank would be a formidable opponent even if it was a one off prototype and would have more impact if noone had seen it before its use in the storyline. Wonder what other assets will possibly only see the light of day when the campaign comes out?
-
Nice, more than just armour for us who only use them as target practice. Hopefully lots more treats for the non tankies among us. :)

What is midnight to Bohemia Interactive?
liquidpinky replied to SlappyPankake's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What is this midnight BS, anyone got any sources? Thought they would do it during working hours in case of need to revert, it is only still a dev patch and not the full release after all. -
Wasn't meant as a dig at yourself, at those of that disposition in general. The loadout thing would be a problem for missions where designers required set loadouts. But again it could be something properly incorperated into the game itself, like TAW view distance settings as well. They would make good features.
-
Just add VAS to Dyslexi's Paperdoll script mission and you are sorted for a proper loadout creation Mission. So much so that you can end up with rare launchers only seen in the Paperdoll menu. Then save away for use in missions online, the majority of missions use VAS so you just have to stare at the Ammobox long enough to load in your prefered profile. This is the sort of game that requires you put something into it to get something back, be it a little though or effort, if you are nothing but a taker then you won't enjoy it much.

AI motorized collumns travelling on roads...some general remarks.
liquidpinky replied to cadmium77's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
UGVs are pretty bad at cutting corners too, they seem to think they are travelling faster than they actually are and corner too soon. They also tend to sit too far off to the right of roads and clip fences, telegraph posts and walls all the time. -
Wasn't there problems with the ropes in MP. I seem to rememeber them only working in SP, probably why they haven't been implimented in A3.
-
Just to add to this, there are no Osprey or Kamen underwater wrecks at all. Maybe none on land either, not checked yet. Personally not too bothered about the amount of wrecks, I think it would effect Altis Life mods more than anything but does have the potential to make it difficult for mission creators who have a vision of what they are trying to create and it doesnt involve the wreck randomly placed at the junction.
-
Well for me and obviously a few others it has been trashed ever since. They may have made other alterations in that version that has causd the problem though, not nessissarily blaming it on the 32bit fix itself but the patch as a whole.
-
It already was for me until they fixed the 32bit users problems and now it is gubbed.
-
Like I posted earlier, place has been on the recieving end of civil unrest, where cars getting wrecked is a common occurance. Add to that the price of fuel in the petrol stations, over 20 euros a litre (almost like being in Britain :P) so cars are probably unaffordable for most civvies and will end up abandoned all over the island once they run out of fuel.
-
Game played great till they fixed it for 32bit users, now it stutters like a bitch.
-
To me it apears like whole towns pop in as one block when they are within your object view distance, instead of each house loading in individually once they are within range and staggering the loading. Will have to test lower object view setting to get a better look and see though.

Editing TOH textures for use in Arma 3?
liquidpinky replied to progamer's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
They supplied p3d format ones for people to make their own, Littlebird and Merlin. Littlebird one certainly works in A3 fine. Dont know if they would be too happy if you ported over the complete ones and edited them though. -

Should be able to while in the UAV console by right clicking on it and select connect option, unless you are on MP and someone else has hijacked it for themselves while you were using the other. Not fun being hijacked while sitting in a UGV at the time. :jail:
-
They are pretty much the same, although I may be imagining that they are slightly less detailed than the ones in ToH. Still a joy to fly through them in first person view though. Can't wait till we get the fixed wing. http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/576747103616675072/BA56CA1A813EF1C92A746131E4311DEC874D344B/ http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/576747103616681986/E97B9EB3FA3EA5371856A9EAAFCAD56426E98A69/

Even changing the mouse pointer colour would be appreciated as I can never find it, especially over three screens. I had the same crap in BF3 and could never find it either during a lot of the load out screens.
