I won't lie, I've wondered this too.

well for one this is problem best asked in the multiplayer mission forum since wasteland is a popular user made mission and not an official BIS mission. Gear isn't saved because the mission isn't made to do so. When you log out your character dies and people loot your body if they find it. If server restarts, everything resets. any objects placed on the map, like building bases will remain until the mission restarts. Wasteland was never made to be a like DayZ or any of the Life rp server that continually saves your data, be it locally or server side, or at least not originally. Some other mission maker may edit it to do so some day but that is up to them, be it Tonic or Su-Matra or whoever has made an iteration of the mission.

You mean what we've been using almost exclusively for a few hundred years?

Blastcore Vs Vanilla FX Video Comparison. You Decide!
Steakslim replied to oo para oo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
and that's the thread folks -
that topic was never the holy grail of features promised to be in the game, and it was maintained by members of the forum here based on news and promotional material (and some official word by devs) that may or may not be a reliable source of what would be in the final game (scripted moving train in ArmA2 video anyone?).

What I'll never understand is how you make a game run so poorly.
Steakslim replied to scaramoosh's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Yeah but it's my day off and I figured I could actually post something about it for once. Anywho, not to be complete waste of a thread, here OP http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?169682-the-houses-and-ruins-are-the-mp-problem An interesting and current topic on what may be one of the larger culprits on bad fps in MP. Post, discuss, share your experience on the matter. -

So...you couldn't just dig up one of the MANY topics, probably within the last few weeks alone about this, read it over, post in it? You had to make your own damn thread just for this? -
please BIS give us the english units in the editor as a fraction !

PIP flickering ever since first alpha release...still not fixed after final release?
Steakslim replied to Tyl3r99's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
yeah because some of the pickup trucks i get the flickering while SLI is on, but the Hunter and Ifrit the mirrors and screens work without issue. -
looking good.

Hard, probably not, but costly for performance. Likely will not happen.

I don't think his particle tests are legit. They look more that stock matte/blue/greenscreen effects overlaid on the captured footage.

While Altis itself shrinked to it's 75%,it lost half of habitant.

Devs- can you make the sights/reticules/functionality match?
Steakslim replied to wgaf's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
use the feedback tracker. edit: for what what it's worth I agree, but it's best if you make a post in the feedback tracker. -
Arma 3, you could have achieved so much!
Steakslim replied to Qosmius's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
oh look, another thread by this guy. Please take it to one of the many other threads this could be applicable to and stop spamming the forums with new topics of the same shit. That or leave. -
Isn't the max player size in arma mp somewhere above 100 players. I know the max number units is greater but that's different, or am I completely mistaken?
-
Unfortunately it is partly dependent on the server and this is so even on other games though not as clearly evident as other games do not stress servers so badly or sessions do not last long enough to show the symptoms. If someone does not have a server set up properly or if the mission it is running is scripted poorly it can effect the client's performance as well. You'll notice this particularly when you experience bad fps where can't get more than 25fps (or less) even when you look straight up at the sky and the flush command isn't buying you any slack. This can also happen if a large mission has been running for too long.

Will keeping the Dev Branch end up splitting the community ?
Steakslim replied to rebb's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
if their dev branch updates become anything like the old beta patching system, they'll be backwards compatible in mp until they advance too far (usually when close to next stable update). -
NATO SF and Russian Spetsnaz WEAPONS for A3
Steakslim replied to massi's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
could use some kind of screen mesh pattern that is popular these days when panting rifles and gear. -
I should also add, and not to discredit or insult a group as a whole, but being or having been in the military does not inherently make one right on any related subject. There's people both current and ex-military with knowledge on weapons and ballistic trajectories equal to a 14 year old playing COD.

Steakslim replied to rehtus777's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Signed, i'm quite enjoying running about the vast fields of altis hoping I don't die. I'm sure that'll be multiplied once tanks and arty are introduced. -

Question regarding the acogs with the red dot backups. is it me or are the red dots not parallax free, like the old painted on dots in ArmA2? Or am I confusing this mod's acogs with fqm's? -
