I've found the problem with the custom missions not working. running an strace on the server shows it's looking for MPMissions/ not mpmissions <= linux being case sensitive etc :). testing if it works by symlinking the mpmissions to MPMissions in the server folder. FIX confirmed. Either rename your mpmissions to MPMissions or symlink it :)

    I agree, but we can only wait. I've so far resorted to the ugly hack of running it ontop of wine. but it's not so smooth to operate.
  3. I also wonder if this might be possible. i've tried to use the -client flag using wine but doesn't work. Could this be a feature in ArmA 3 perhaps on linux?

  6. hmm, i heard someone mention spawning a process to handle a JIP client. that would be fairly inefficient i'd reckon. it would be cheaper CPU-time wise to spawn a thread to handle it. could be problematic to handle stuff like accessing the servers memory to read state of the game with a seperate child process XD. dunno if it's really very relevant though since it seems the fix should work without adding additional tricks to the server engine.

    Revert my idea. its not dedicated-proof... my own dedicated server was down so i couldnt test it in dedicated scenario. it only works on localhosted... which is baaaad TM. on dedicated that script is only runned serverside. but since i tested it locally. the player is local to server.., which means if i played CO i couldnt build near. butl... if someone else connects and CO they can still exploit. so i must fix this check :P Edit: replace player with _MHQ

    Nice, its great to hear that thanks. Im holding off from the release 1.5d untill i can get this money exploit fixed. Im nearlly there just trial and error untill i get the script working. Oki everyone i need some help here..     I've been tracking your work and i'm quite impressed. to the point that i'm basing my Warfare mod on your work with fixes and tweaks of mine together with a community member for the squad i'm in "Hotshots". We're currently looking for people to cooperate with to improve Warfare Stock to something better.

    it happens with any mission or just a selected few? @=JpS=SgtRock, the tolower script/code-snippet just makes all filenames lowercase. since linux differs upper and lowercase. while windows doesnt. so without running tolower it can get quite quirky.

    On client side it says "Wait for host", and it just doesn't load the mission even though I wait for a long time. I tried to look for some file that has more detailed log but couldn't find one. Server Information CPU: Intel Celeron 2600MHz Memory: 512MB Operating System: Linux Kubuntu 8.04 err. have you runned tolower script? :/. cause i see upper-case names in the folders there.

    "File server, script not executed" That bug is finally squashed?! . that one has spooked me for ages on a AMD Opteron server with the Evolution maps. enter town and scripts doesnt trigger bug. hope it's really what i think it is. if so THANKS A LOT! D

    We are unable to reproduce this, but we have fixed something definitely low level, which can possibly help. New linux server is comming soon. tested with new binary. still same behaviour.

    If no useful work is being done any Server FPS is just shit. If the 51-70 Server FPS setup bugs horribly on any mission pretty much. and a weaker P4 3.06Ghz with a Server FPS around 30-40 works just perfectly fine and stable :S

    has anyone noticed a particular bug with many missions when running the armaserver on a particular piece of hardware? a good sample is Evolution R b14 on a Xeon 3050 2.13Ghz Dual-Core CPU with 2GB ram on 32bit Ubuntu. On all other servers i've tested so far on other hardware the mission works fine. as in Server FPS is any between 20-40 or so and AIs spawns in towns fine and scripts are runned. But on this Xeon machine's arma server. some scripts fails to run properly when triggers are entered and the alike. and the server FPS is around 51-64. and afaik the server should have an internal limit at 50 FPS yet it skyrockets above it. and the memory use reported in #monitor is 55M while the real process is accounted for using 267MB. Any BI Dev able to explain why this occurs?. Edit #1: oh and the latest binary is used aswell from the last post about it. Edit #2: oh and we have tried just for the possiblity to set the process affinity to one of the Core's to see if it would possibly have any effect, although very unlikely. Edit #3: if you wanna check Filter for server name "Defiance" and #vote admin yourself and do #missions and select (Coop30) Evolution R b14 or any of the modded versions and run it. then drive to Masbete and see it. What you'll see is you enter the grey circle. yet no AI spawns and you get Masbete has been cleared instantly.

    During connection of players mid-game there would still be extensive lag, again as if the server had stopped working, for about one minute. The 'pending' messages continued after the player had already disconnected again. I can confirm a similar problem on my Linux Test Server aswell. the server stops responding entirely for awhile at Server FPS: 0. then after a long while comes back to normal

    i support the idea. and what i can contribute is testings so far on 2 distro's and their versions Feisty Fawn 7.04 32bit: Works excellent with install of libwww0 ArchLinux Current 32bit: Works after getting a PKGBUILD for w3c-libwww from AUR Repositories and build it. Cheers.

    Heh, not to be mean but i bet they bog and have all the same issues with cheating that win does. Cant get around that for the moment. never mentioned anything about it being the miracle cure for cheating . but i'm fairly certain it should bog down way less. atleast the OS is less of a factor to contribute
