Sorry for being AWOL so long, work had me swamped and the nice summer outside did help. But the mod is still making progress, yet slowly. Here’s a quick WIP shot for the DEVGRU aficionados amongst you: What you see is a HK416 with a Daniel Defense handguard in the Recce setup: 13” barrel and an Ops Inc suppressor, Nightforce NXS. Of course, the DD handguard will also come for the 10.4” barrels. No plans. I haven't seen the LA5 in black for about ten years and have never seen a NGAL in the field with US SOCOM. That would completely blow up the file size since all the weapon accessories would need additional models for the woodland versions. Right now, there are over 350 models in the mod for the optics alone (granted, some for different colors/camos). Not to mention the time it would take to make the textures and (more annoying) make them look right in ArmA.

No, I did not. And from my point of view, shutting down the site without notice and taking offers for the “framework” send a completely different message than "looking for someone to continue the legacy". But anyhow, since the files are gone there is no use debating this any further... Kind of sad, that this turn of events will leave everyone disappointed.

And exactly this makes the whole scheme seem fishy: The mod files, accounts etc. are not for sale but “will only be given to the rightful person to carry on Foxhounds work”. One doesn’t have to be a prophet to predict that this person will be the one who purchases the domain/name rights, won’t he/she? In this case, Foxhound would be selling the mod files.

That is right, he owes nobody anything, at least now that the mod files are gone and will not be sold. (Yes, I know, the offer was regarding the framework/database... but most of the value came from the implicit promise of getting access to the files). Otherwise, I would have had major issues with that as a content creator whose early work was hosted on AH. But it is naïve to think, this way of ending Armaholic would not hurt ones reputation in many ways, especially with the (non-)communication after the shutdown of the site.

Great news on the update! PKL is still my favorite jungle map in ArmA (even though it has a few too many FOBs for my taste). Any chance for some larger mangrove swamps in the new version? Anyhow, thanks for your continued work on this gem. -

If it is only the normal map and not part of the model, you can use the hiddenSelectionMaterials command to change the rvmat (and therefore the normal map).- 16577 replies

Not completely true, the optics slots have the normal rail class, and all rails should be fine. The laser/light combos are not that compatible because there would be a quite some clipping. It’s the price to pay to have side attachments with cables and pressure pads that fit the specific rifle. But you can always write a small config adding the RHS/ACE classnames to my rail classes. It isn’t that hard and you can look up the classes in the Tier One config.

All the classnames are listed in the cfgPatches part at the beginning of the config. But here's a list: You might want to hold of on that, the next version will have the same/similar flashlights as RE. I tried the mod a few days ago and really liked the flashlights.

Since reuploads are prohibited, you must use the Steam workshop to download the mod.

A small additon in the next update: RHS' M40A5 with suppressors... the muzzle proxy already existed in the model, just some config work was needed.

There shouldn't be. Perhaps on the HK416s with Geissele rails: To make the M-LOK attachments functional on them I had to change the grip slot class. But all the old attachment classes still exist, they just aren't link to the new grip slot class. AFAIK they won't show up but also won't create error messages.

I am well aware of Cody’s great models; in fact, I knew he was working on them back in December. Anyway, do not expect to see those in the next update. But some news regarding the next update: I am still waiting for two models (both accessories/attachments). Unfortunately, Covid delayed the progress on these two. (No need to worry, everybody’s fine.) After the new RHS update, some now existing compatibility issues will be fixed. In the meantime, I got the Mk18 URGIs in game. Here’s a 14.5” version: Base model was done by zRaider, rail by Cody. Also in the picture: a new M600C tactical light. And someone went full Daniel Defense on this one:

Right now, most JSOC units run Glock 17s and Glock 19s. The SIG P320 was spotted on a DEVGRU operator in the pictures of the 2020 Kabul attacks, that’s why it is in the mod. At the moment, I have no plans for further handguns (other than the Glock 17 &19 variants mentioned above).

The Insight WML? Yes. I am trying to reduce the number of attachment models (they massively drive up the file size), so I only include them if the unit that uses the weapon uses the light too. But since DEVGRU uses both the SIG MCX and the WML, it will be included.

Interesting. I would need permission to use their animations/gestures for the mod or make my own, and I don’t know if it could be set up in a way the canting is only used when in the secondary weapon mode.

You are right, but since I have already the 13" URX for the SR-16s it will be an easy fix. I could keep the current model in the mod as an M110K3 with small modifications... might do that.

Hey guys, it has been some time since I updated you on the development of the mod and some progress has been made (slowly but steadily). The next update will include Glock 17s and some less custom Glock 19s. In the picture below you see a rail variant Glock 17 and a Glock 19, new attachments are the Leupold DeltaPoint sight (used by CAG) and the Obsidian9 short Suppressor. Thanks to Mandoloin and especially RobinDX Tier One will have some new animations for you. The AFGs will be set further near the muzzle and some attachments like the Larue handstop will trigger a c-clamp-like animation (not really thumb over bore because of all the clipping that entails). Last but not least, the SR-25s were done until I realized CAG used the SR-25 EMC for some time (instead of the M110), so that will make its way into the mod. Seen here in a setup with an AFG, Harris bipod, LA5, M600V and Leupold Mark 8 CQBSS 1-8x LPVO: Unfortunately, there is still a lot to do but I am hoping to be very productive around the easter holidays. So, fingers crossed.

Is there any way to hide parts of a handgun when it is holstered via an entry in the model config besides using the “isSelected” parameter? Something like “isholstered”? The first one often hides the parts while the weapon is selected in the arsenal (but seems to work fine besides that). So, it is not that important, but if anyone knows a more elegant way... Background: I have a pistol with a picatinny rail mount that clips through some holsters and since the attachments aren’t shown anyway, I thought I could hide the rail mount while holstered.

Thanks, that has been reported a few days ago in the workshop comments too and will be fixed in the next release Probably not, the scope of the mod is 2010 and later. If I would even do some kind of a legacy pack it would be included, but though I thought about it do not count on that happening.

Plans? Yes. 🙂 As a rule, everything that is common in the SOCOM weaponry (post 2010) is a possible addition. However, if it is added or not depends on whether I can purchase a good and affordable model, if it isn’t already included in RHS and if I am in the mood to work on it. But things will only be announced if they are already working in game. I do not want to create false hopes (and sometimes things aren’t announced at all, so there is a bit of surprise on release.)
