I believe with a proper volume changes it would be good. I like the sound itself. Very dry and real. Nothing fancy and that is how it usually is with military systems.
-
I down-voted the ticket. I absolutely don't agree with the #1 and #2 points. I believe you have managed to put a very poor arguments in there. #1 Is not true on Arma 3 islands and if true in some scenarios (therefore bug) it should be fixed by fixing the LOS system and not by nerfing the AI behaviour. #2 Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable reason you put there (sorry). We should fix the AI shooting skills itself so that they are less super-human and not making them more stupid in their position selection in order to make them easier to hit. #3 and #4 are relevant points and could be fixed by timeouts before going prone or making cities CQB zones for which AI would have special behaviour. This would be very difficult to do properly IMO because there will be inevitable situations when you would love to have AI going prone even in CQB.

The biggest problem for me with the current system is that bodies tend to fall in ridiculously deformed positions.

This sort of feedback from devs is always calming. Thanks, RiE.

Guys, I believe this is more about interface than about AI so I would not discuss it here.

OK, while I have no problem with how the new fatigue and sway system works I realized I have a big problem with how it currently looks and feels. It does not feel natural at all. When fatigued enough I can't overcome the feeling that my character in the game is hobbling. I understand the constant sway up and down is there to simulate the breathing but I believe that during the combat jog the pattern would not be so predictive, unnatural and strong. Your weapon is not supposed to be touching your chest after all and your hands would be shaking (not swaying in a such artificial pattern) when fatigued enough. It really feels wrong while I actually like what it does with the gameplay. What do you think, guys?

This would be great.

No. You are perfectly able to make careful shots if you have 0% fatigue and you are in a prone or sitting position. You just have to stay static for some time before doing that. You also have to choose a right moment to fire. ---------- Post added at 10:39 ---------- Previous post was at 10:25 ---------- Agreed.

I am sorry but you might be misunderstanding the sniper role. Sniper is usually in a calm state laying somewhere hidden and taking careful shots at targets. He is not supposed to be an assault class doing a CQB or moving fast after each shot. Marksmen are also static and camping much of the time and supporting from the rear while their mates attacks from close. Both classes has no business in sprinting and shooting in rapid succession. Choose your classes and gear properly and you will have fighting easier in Arma.

What a load of exaggerated and false bullshit. During my tests it took exactly 2 minutes and 55 seconds to fully rest in prone position from 100% fatigue to 0% with a soldier that had 92% load (machinegun, AT, full backpack, full vest etc.). If I dropped my pack during the resting I was able to fully recover in 30 seconds (I haven't even dropped my AT launcher). With such a brutal load (imagine in real life), I was able to run 570 meters (with weapon lowered) before fully fatigued and even when 100% fatigued I was able to run constantly 9kmph until I was getting bored (i could run forever). I wasn't using sprinting obviously as that would be completely stupid at such distance. I guess you should start playing better designed missions that does not require packed-like-a-mule rambos constantly running around and shooting like in Battlefield. Also, why does servers hosting such game modes aren't disabling fatigue is a mystery for me. They can already do that with this if I am correct (problem solved for all the twitch shooters). Also, there is no completely black screen when completely fatigued. Only darker edges that goes away quickly so you must have been playing with a mod or you simply made things up. And if you have no patience, I wonder why do you ever started with Arma in the first place. This game has always been about patience.
-
Blurring the edges does not prevent you from seeing the centre of the screen clearly. However, lets not derail this thread. We all have different opinions. Thank you for yours.
-
Yes, I also have not any impossible aiming problems with the new system. It is challenging but definitely not impossible or even frustrating. It just needs a bit of practice and patience. For me, it works well. --- I also have to admit that I tried the toned down version in the latest dev branch and I enjoy that one too.

The head bod is there to simulate a disruption of concentration which happens while running in real life. Your eyes will compensate the shakiness of your view in real life but your ability to visually concentrate on your surroundings will be smaller. Because you don't have to physically run and concentrate on your movement in the game you "need" some workaround to simulate the reduction of your visual concentration. Of course, for some people it is also an eye candy. However, I don't want to derail this thread so... EDIT: I agree with the rest of your points.
-
Exactly. The real life combat is incredibly slow compared to Arma gameplay. Those who are complaining should take a look at some real urban combat footages and you will see how slowly the soldiers cross the streets etc.

The latest stable update has caused a solid shitstorm. I have never seen so many people arguing before in this community. BIS are definitely having hard times decide how to solve this controversy.

Yes. It just needs a simple lowering of volume. Nothing more.

I hate to say it but now I know what it feels like when people from a different gaming background are invading "your" game that you play for so many years (since 2001). I have never felt it before in the series and probably neither in any other game. 1.24 fatigue system is one of the best features in the series and now we have these (relatively) new players with a completely different taste in gaming that are influencing the game because for them the new system is "too unfriendly", "too difficult", "not fun" and so on. BIS will have to choose if they want to please everybody and nobody at the same time or a particular group of players with a particular taste in gaming. While Arma players like me don't have many alternatives where to go (if Arma is going to be "crippled" - in my point of view) the other side of players has almost too many games left to play in order to please their gaming needs. So this "crippling" feels as a bit unnecessary decision, in my opinion. Please, note that I am not in any way claiming that a different taste in gaming than mine is wrong or inferior (I love particular arcade games too). I just say I feel my hobby is being seriously damaged and limited and those who know my opinions on the forums already probably know that I would not write such words in just whatever occasion. This is indeed starting to be serious for me. Not comfortable situation at all. This has always been a very special game for gamers with a very specific taste in gaming (not supposed to sound elitist - sorry if it does anyway).

New Weaponsway is way to much. And holding breath bug?
Bouben replied to HAseONE's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I fully support Coulum's opinions about weapon sway. I wish devs just nerfed it bit for prone positions only, but they should keep it as introduced in 1.24 stable for other stances. -
Agreed.
-
I was talking only about visuals. I enjoy both sway and fatigue system.
