  2. Hello everyone, this is something that's been bothering me for a long time and it has been probably addressed a few times. I still want to talk about it again though, and that's the exploding vehicles. Is there any mod out there (or perhaps even plans from BIS) that simply stops vehicles from exploding? I really don't crave any fancy damage model, I honestly just want them to stop exploding, like, make them stay in the heavy damaged state so the crew bails and you can repair them later if you get the chance. It looks good enough and way better/realistic than the model which the vehicle gets turned into after an explosion. Don't get me wrong, I highly appreciate anything BIs gave to us since they released the alpha like shooting from vehicles and making it possible to rest your weapons, but from an immersion & polishing standpoint this is something that should've been high priority ( at least imo.).

    Thanks for your response Gunter, the bulletimpact sound when screaming was indeed the cause of JSRS, thank you! But that wasn't the major annoyance I meant, it's my fault for not wording my questions precisely enough though. What I meant is that all the SLX pain-screams in general are too frequent/annoying - and I didn't find a way to remove them altogether and I didn't know what pbo file had the soundfiles for them stored. Luckily I managed to find a way just a moment ago, so I got rid of the "slx_wounds" and "slx_wounds_ais" .pbos which removed the first aid and injury system. So there's no more screams now. Unfortunately it also removed the blood and new bullet damage values.. I think there's no way to get that back unless modifying the SLX "wounds" .pbos? This is what it's like now:

    COWarMod Release

    Hello @Gunter Severloh, first off - thanks for this amazing mod. Kinda weird that I only recently heard about and downloaded it after all those years playing Arma. But boy am I glad I did. There's this one issue though that's turning me down playing every now and then, it's not directly your fault because of SLX I think but I can't seem to find a way to get rid of it. And that is the damn screaming. I really want to disable it because it's annoying and too frequent, especially when there's a squad full of wounded and the united moaning sounds like it opened a vocal portal to hell. Of course I've done my homework on this and googled, when I discovered that the sounds are supposed to be located in the SLX's "slx_dialogue" pbo. Removed it (as well as the bisign) but nothing changed. Then I attempted to pinpoint the sounds by removing other SLX pbo's, like "slx_wounds", "slx_shout", "slx_shoteffect" etc. one after another until I did completely remove all the SLX addons. Still, nothing changed. So here are my questions.. Are the pain/injured sounds actually stored in the slx_dialouge.pbo? Or/And is it possible that there's a copy of all the SLX addons in a COWarMod pbo which causes this? A video I just made about the issue: Everything is up to date (COWarMod, CBA_CO, Arma 2 CO) because I just recently reinstalled Arma and made sure I got the right files. Other mods I am using: Blastcore Visuals, JSRS 1.5, CWR2 V15, Chernarus Winter *On a side note, can someone explain to me why some SLX injury sounds - sound like there's a bulletimpact added to it?

    Recoil and it's simple solution

    Just tried it out and got to say the weapons feel way better and powerful/realistic now. Wish BIS would make that the vanilla value.
  9. This probably has been mentioned multiple times by now but I definitely feel the need of it being kept talking about. And that is the current vehicle damage model/system. Major disturbance: Seeing a car blow up just because its health has dropped below zero due to bullets or hitting an obstacle hard enough is ridiculous and destroys immersion in an instant. Same goes with tanks and other vehicles, though the vehicles that carry no ammunition still are the worst ones. I don't need a perfect penetration system like in Men of War or Iron Front (though wouldn't mind if the like gets implemented), instead I'd already be okay with vehicles just not blowing up but only having a really really minor chance of blowing up, leaving a still enterable vehicle behind with a damaged look instead of an immersion-breaking explosion. Even though I am no fan of DLCs I'd more than gladly pay 10 - 20 euros for an upgrade of the current system, like the Marksman DLC that brought us weapon resting and shooting from vehicles.

    Female character models

    What's with the beta males "not wanting to put down a precious woman". First off it's a game and secondly it's war, if it's carrying a gun and aiming at you shoot it. You don't need to protect artificial women in a war game. They wouldn't care. On a side note, I don't care if BIS implements women or not, fine with both, there are more important things they could work on like the driving AI.
