That is because somehow the missile camera doesn't work with the UAV AI and controlling it via UAV Terminal. I hope that can be fixed.

How do I use the Mk41 VLS ?

It is not an artillery unit. It now fires cruise missiles that lock onto targets provided by datalink. Those can be for example laser targets by a UAV or just targets detected by a friendly unit with radar.

  5. Does anyone know a way to make a script-spawned laser target available for one side via datalink without a vehicle actually seeing it? Is it possible? There should be a list of some kind that has all currently available datalink targets for each side in it, right? So is it possible to manually add one there?

Thanks a lot. That is the answer to a question I just posted in one of the scripting threads :)

    Return the cursor position?

Yeah that should do it, Do you know a way of doing the same when using the map? So get the cursor coordinates on map screen into position?

Problem with bim-9x in Jets DLC.

You don't use radar by using the lock key (Radar is turned on and off via Default Ctrl+R (I think)). You just assign a target to the missile. The Arma engine needs you to do that also with IR seekers. I think there was a time when Manpads automatically started to lock onto the closest target but I'm not sure if they still do that. But surely the AAMs don't do that. They probably should from a real life perspective but they don't do that. So you have to use keys. Default T is used to lock onto the target right in front of your cursor. Default R is used to cycle through all available targets within the seeker cone prioritizing the closest and/ or that one that is the biggest threat to the platform. This manual locking is required for all airlaunched weapons with exception of dumbfire weapons and LOAL mode weapons that lock on after launch (currently laser guided bombs (with exception of the SDBs) and some active radar guided AAMs I think (oh, and ARMs))

Mk 45 Hammer as NGS needs the artillery computer

If there can be only one I kind of like the previous version better since artillery support can be really provided from everywhere using the available self propelled guns. You could even make it invisible and place it next to the destroyers gun and since it is not a direct firing weapon nobody should notice it... xD

Mk 45 Hammer as NGS needs the artillery computer

I think there should be a direct fire variant of this weapon. For self defense purpose and to provide fire support within line of sight against moving targets. Especially since there is no small remote autocannon turret or some other system that has the ability to defend the destroyer for example against armed speedboats or other small moving targets. Also when it comes to shore fire support you have no choice than nuke a tank with the VLS... which is kind of not in line with what the Laws of War DLC teaches us regarding collateral damage... I would love to see a relatively fast firing mounted gun with HE and AP rounds capable of performing direct attacks on targets within line of sight.

Targets from every sensor should work.

You don't need the artillery computer for the new cruise missiles. You lock them onto targets via datalink. For example laser targets. A artillery computer option as kind of a GPS guidance would be awesome though. Also an upgraded model for the missile itself would be very nice since it is basically an upscaled version of the Skyfire missile from the Kajmans rocket pods the model and texture quality is really substandard. For example the new MIM-145 and S-750 models are really a different story.

For some reason this doesn't work with the UAV AI in the vehicle and the player controlling it. If you place the VLS empty and put a player inside it works perfectly fine. For some reason the game currently can't handle this function with UAV AIs.

I simply saved an empty loadout so I can load it whenever I want to clear it. Works perfectly well.

Did some testing. For some reason both new SAM systems seem to wait about 120 seconds before starting to lock onto the target and fire. The Centurion on the other hand takes only about 90 seconds (same target, same radar spotting it, same position)... Following tests are with R750 radar and S750 Rhea SAM: Target is a Blackfish at about 8km. With an actual rifleman (skill 50) as crew instead of the UAV AI the new SAM starts to fire at the target after about 90 to 100 seconds. With a rifleman (skill 100) in the SAM and the AI radar the SAM starts following the target after about 45 seconds but only fires after about 90. With rifleman (skill 100) in both radar and SAM and grouped together the SAM starts to fire at about 40 seconds. Best results so far... Repeated the test with 12km range. Took the Rifleman (100) combo about 60 seconds and the UAV combo about 190 seconds...

Can we please get the new CSAT SAM the S750 Rhea be able to turn it's turret 360 degrees please? Like the NATO one? Especially since you can not move them the fact that they have a 120 degree angle where they can not engage anything is quite annoying. Speaking of engaging stuff. The AI seems not to fire the new SAM missiles until it spotted the target for like 2 minutes or so... Probably a problem with the friend foe identification?

Some sensors like IR sensors have a value related to see through fog or smoke. I'm not sure how it is exactly called. Have to look that up.

Mk 45 Hammer as NGS needs the artillery computer

Also a larger max zeroing distance than 2000m would be nice. Something like 4000m since the vehicles sensors have that range and AI will start shooting anyways. Like the T-140 has.

I guess the SAM launching platform does not come with its own radar. But the missile itself on the other hand does. So the missile can still lock onto you as long as it happens to point in your direction in the first place. So I guess what happened there is that the platform used data link with the radar before it was destroyed to find you. Then you destroyed the radar but the missile already used it's own radar to lock on. That is why it still can lock onto you but the platform does not come with radar so you get just the yellow locking warning and can not target it with HARMs. It's just a guess though.

I made a Mod for ARMs a couple of months ago using the already implemented anti-radiation sensors. It works there perfectly fine so I assume it will work with their ones as well.

    SEAD missiles by VTI

SEAD missiles addon I wrote a small config to add anti-radiation missiles to ArmA 3. This small addon contains five anti-radiation-missiles for the ArmA III vanilla and some RHS aircraft. As well as SEAD capable variants of existing Jets DLC aircraft. The missiles can be locked and fired onto groundbased radar sources from distances up to 10 km. They have diffrent speed, range and damage output. They can be used by all vanilla airplanes via pylon settings but keep in mind that only the Neophron and Wipeout (asd far as vanilla goes) come with anti-radiation sensors and can target radar sources on their own. They can also be used by some helicopters. The missiles use the already existing anti-radiation sensors, that currently are not used by any vanilla weapon. The line of sight of the missiles is not blocked by smoke but you can avoid the missile with turning off the radar and move. SEAD missiles by VTI

I do plan on expanding the addon a bit and include SEAD variants of the stealth jets with ARMs properly fitting into their internal bays. Also rework the whole pylon compatibility thing since there are some weird things and clippings happening right now with some combinations.

You mean like the Rhino is able to fire missiles on laser targets provided by datalink? Passing the target data is no problem with enabled datalink. It may work but it would be necessary to create a new missile that is capable of locking onto non line of sight radar targets and be fired from a ground based platform.
