The Unsung Vietnam Mod 3.0 WIP THREAD
wildcatbridge replied to sgt_savage's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Thanks :) but seriously though if you guys haven't read up on it i'd recommend the battle of Long Tan. Its basically a larger scale version of eggbeast and the trolls. In that one company of Australians (eggbeast) took on several battalions of PAVN (trolls). Just goes to prove British tactics with Australian personalities is unstoppable ;) -

RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)

So i have a question from the other day that the RHS team might be able to answer. With Russia's creation of the national guard are units such as the OMON and the vv going to be absorbed into it? or are they going to work alongside it at a reduced role? secondly if they are absorbed do you know if they will maintain their certain identities? and finally what does it mean for the future of RHS if the VV is absorbed into the national guard? Sorry for the bombard of questions, i haven't been able to find much info on them and you guys know a lot about that area.- 16577 replies

RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)
wildcatbridge replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
the desert use a version of multicam (think its known as OCP) because thats what US units were being issued towards the end of the Afghanistan war. the Americans along with the British (using MTP) found themselves fighting less in sandy places and more in fertile landscapes (known as the green zone for guys serving in helmand) so in those areas dessies stood out like sore thumbs. multicam is designed to work in arid terrains like you would find in the green zone hence why it was adopted.- 16577 replies

right I am making a call out for anyone who has experience of sketchup and wants to help astfor. if you are interested then PM me. you will need to make the building (picture below) both interior and exterior and attach to the PM along with a brief statement outlining your skills and another telling me about you as a person. this is so i can make the right call on someone who will fit the team, hope you all understand. and good luck- 657 replies

The Unsung Vietnam Mod 3.0 WIP THREAD
wildcatbridge replied to sgt_savage's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
You see making a mod is much like making love to a beautiful woman. In order to get to that final goal you have to take your time and build up to it. maybe take her out for dinner, maybe buy her a gift or two. Eventually with time and patience you will get what you want, but first you have to not pressure her. And certainly don't suggest you want a threesome with her friend ACE either...that just ends in shouting. Maybe I've been watching too much fast show . -

as a question back on topic, the russian MSV is kinda a paramilitary force and works closely with the VV. Does the RHS class units such as OMON, Alpha, and Vymple (can't spell it, won't even try) to be part of the armed forces?- 16577 replies

Also from what I've heard the AK can be abused a lot and not really be affected....but then again no offence to AK users but i hear they don't have the greatest reputation for accuracy so i guess loss in accuracy from wear and tear is less noticeable.- 16577 replies

Depends on the military really and the kind of armorers you have. Over here most rifles are pretty well looked after but it still varies as to the armorer who's actually looking after them. I've seen a few rifles with absolutely shocking furniture but the weapon still works well. One thing though are sights are looked after as a top priority, because obviously they are your bread and butter. They might have a little chipped paint, but mostly they are repainted when you lose paint to protect it from rust. rust is removed whenever its found cause that leads to failure of the system. Although that's just from my own experience. Different rifles, different nations, different armorers can lead to weapons being better or less well maintained. So long as when you pull the trigger the thing goes bang and someone (preferably the enemy) dies then i guess you can't really complain.- 16577 replies

Tell you another helmet i've seen around developing military's is the old British army mk6 helmet. Its probably because everyone is progressively getting issued the mk7. So its like how the Americans replaced the PASGT and gave them away to everyone and their mums, now the British are doing it as well.- 16577 replies

right i've worked out the loss in translation. I'm used to airborne just meaning paratroopers and air assault meaning helicopter born infantry. I also forgot that the 101st retained their airborne tab even though they don't jump anymore. so yep gonna hold my hands up and say my brain wasn't switched on 100% sorry if i caused a minor panic . but while i'm here and have your attention the UCP/ARB faction doesn't have the choice of 82nd and 101st rifleman unlike the OEF-CP/ARB, don't know if that's choice or something.- 16577 replies
