Latest Arma 3 update: Gains not worth the loss
LuckyArma replied to LuckyArma's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
So you think everyone should be happy with a overly sensitive collision model and buggy sound? God definitely help us. -
Latest Arma 3 update: Gains not worth the loss

I've been hearing the same thing about Advanced Flight Model for a long time. I hoped that this update would have fixed it, but it didn't. -
Latest Arma 3 update: Gains not worth the loss
LuckyArma replied to LuckyArma's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Before the update I could bounce off of things a little more, as in the example above if the skids hit the edge of the roof I was landing on the chopper would just bounce off, but with new update instead of bouncing off it kills the helicopter and it rolls over and explodes. I don't think I can be any more clear about that. -

POLL: New Update - regarding new font and sound
LuckyArma replied to krazikilla's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Some of the sounds are better, like the rifle sounds. Some of them just aren't accurate, like explosions in the distance, they just kaboom, when in reality they should go swack-boom. I think BI developers would benefit greatly from going to a military firing range and actually hearing things go boom. The same goes for helicopters, they did a pretty good job with AFM, but the way collisions with objects are handled is pitiful. -
non optimal system perfomance , on an over the spec system
LuckyArma replied to axonmagnus's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Don't you have to put the memory allocator in the Arma3\DLL folder? I see 2 allocators there in the link, the tbb4malloc_biWithoutSSE2 and the tbb4malloc_biWithSSE2 are those different from the tbb4malloc_bi that comes in the DLL pack?- 22 replies

Extreme shadow bug in Arma 3
LuckyArma replied to Donald Flatulence's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'm using a GTX 750 ti, and I get weird shadows, but I got weird shadows before I installed the GPU, I was using the integrated graphics on my AMD cpu. -

Miltiplayer lag, worse in helicopters
LuckyArma replied to LuckyArma's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yep I just loaded a Humming Bird into Altis, just me and the chopper. out of the bird I was getting 45 to 55 fps, in the bird I got around 35 - 40 fps, but after a while it dropped to around 30, then I landed the bird too hard and just went rabbit hunting. lol -
Like the title says, lag is worse in helicopters. If I play as infantry it's not so bad, and the game is playable. If I fly a fixed wing it's not too bad, but as soon as I get in chopper or even look at a chopper(not kidding) the lag gets bad, down from 30 or 35 fps to 20 fps and once the heli is spool up it drops to the low teens, and gets worse from there. Anyone had similar lag, and is there a way to improve it other than lowering view distance, which I've done but it only gives a few fps more, but not enough to make it flyable. Thanks

Miltiplayer lag, worse in helicopters
LuckyArma replied to LuckyArma's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
It always does better in an empty map. In the editor, it only lags after I've been doing a lot of rapid turn maneuvers for an extended period of time, like 10 or 15 minutes of crop dusting style turns. -
Miltiplayer lag, worse in helicopters

I was thinking that quad core would at least double my speed. I have the FM2 socket, BTW, so the AMD A10 6800 is the best chip I can put on that board. The i5 is a little bit better chip, and uses less power, but it uses a G2 socket whereas the AMD uses a FM2 socket. -

As I said in my OP it's "multiplayer lag" it's in the title. Anyway, I fly the Humming Bird and the Little Bird AH-6 the black one. I have 5 mods running right now, MELB, CBA vs2.2.0, BWI, RHS: United States Forces, TFAR 0.9.8 I have my view distances set as low as possible and still be able to look for a landing spot. I'm running the game from a HD not a SSD. I did notice that at times I have HD writes going on, and the game will freeze completely for a second or two when that's happening. Not sure if it's page file or something else like Norton Anti Virus, which I can't turn off because I don't have password access because it's part of my internet package from my not so great ISP CenturyLink(not a plug, more of a rant). I don't have any web browsers running, and I've disabled everything from the startup menu that windows will allow me to disable. My current CPU is only a dual core FM2 socket with AMD A6 5400K, so the A10 6800 is the best I can put in that; do you think the better CPU would make much difference in multiplayer fps? Other than that, I've got 16GB of DDR3 1600 RAM, with a GTX 750ti 2GB GPU. I use the advanced flight model, not sure if there's any difference in frame rate between the two. Far as I know I've tweaked the settings much as I can, My connection is 10mbs with anywhere from 53ms to 93ms ping depending on the server. -
Arma3 and the /LARGEADDRESSAWARE flag (memory allocation > 2GB)
LuckyArma replied to fred41's topic in ARMA 3 - SERVERS & ADMINISTRATION
I've tried all of the memory allocators. The two best are tbbmalloc and tbb4malloc_bi, with tbb4malloc_bi being the best as it has less problems during extended game play. -
Hey guys, It looks like there's a lot of Arma 3 video know how on here, so maybe someone can solve a problem for me. I want to make a video of me flying a chopper, but I want the video to be taken from a spectator viewpoint. I've tried setting up a camera by means of scripting, it gave me some data that I saved into an .sqf file, but I can't figure out how to turn it into a video. I have ShadowPlay, OverWolf, and of course Arma 3 scripting. Is there a way I can set up a camera in Arma 3, fly around and have the camera film my flying around, and save it to a video like ShadowPlay's F10 function does? The video has to be shot from a spectator vantagepoint not first person of 3'rd person. If not may someone knows how to convert the code I get from scripting into a video. Thanks

Player looking for squad (not for squads to post looking for players!)
LuckyArma replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - SQUADS AND FANPAGES
Sniper/Spotter looking for group with good in-game communication skills. I'm tired of playing with "load wolf" players, tired of friendly fire deaths, and sloppy game play. If you're reading this you know what I mean, so let's for a squad/platoon/company.
