    @icebreakr I know you mentioned you had another savannah-style African themed map in the early process, similar to Isla Duala. Have you planned the size of that one yet? Will it be similar in size to Isla Duala?

    Hey guys, So I made a little config to allow for the outstanding Faces of War German faction to speak German instead of English. You'll need to run IFA3 alongside it since it's using the IFA3 german language. But I figured some folks might be interested in it.     Sorry I don't. I designed it to be as "lightweight as possible" so I decided on using RDS instead of CUP or RHS so that it could be as lightweight as possible while still offering good options for clothing. RDS is a much lighter dependency to use for this than going with CUP or RHS as the dependency and allows for clans that are CUP based or RHS based to use it. *Apologies Accuracy for the offtopic post here.

  7. So yeah.... this new Air Component Commander module..... Holy Hell is this thing badass! I launched a big ALiVE vanilla campaign on Altis...hopped in Zeus..and just sat back and watched for almost an hour. I saw an A-10 chase down a Shikra Fighter and dogfight. I saw an F-18 attack a CSAT Armored Column. This thing is FREAKING AWESOME.

  9. Hey guys, Sorry if this has been covered....but what is the best way to get AI to do a static line paradrop? I've attempted to get my AI squad to disembark with me but they stay in the plane. I also have some missions I'm working on where no players are in the planes...only AI who will need to jump on their own. Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated and great work!!

    Bad ArmA Trends

    As someone who both runs a MP group and who has posted several missions/campaigns I disagree. It has been INFINITELY easier getting folks able to connect to our server, not have bizarre issues, etc. with the Workshop. Folks who have played ARMA for a while know how to manually add/delete mods but we forget that if you are someone who just bought the game, it can be pretty intimidating. Also...as someone who uses between 12-20 mods total in most of my campaigns, it is much easier convincing folks to click "subscribe" rather than go hunt down the mod on a dropbox link/armaholic...then manually install it, etc. Our group has had VERY little issue with Steam Workshop. As for missions....I typically release our already played through campaigns on the workshop as that is the perfect way to test in a MP environment, make sure things are working as they should, etc. There are a lot of haphazard missions out there...but there are also some very very good ones as well. Just my .02.

    Bad ArmA Trends

    I’ll add my 2 cents from a server/group admin/mission maker perspective…. Bad Trends: 1. Treating the Virtual Arsenal as a fashion show to change their loadout to super sniper/cqb/AT guy with 20 mags, a grenade launcher rifle with a 6x magnifier heat/night vision scope/silencer combo. 2. Putting a vehicle spawner in a mission upon request by my group…only to log on and see 485 Helicopters all over the map, 39485 jeeps, tanks, etc. (Which is why I quit using vehicle spawners) 3. Rambo/Lone wolf folks who take off on their own in every mission 4. Leaving 2948547859 ammo clips, guns, etc. strewn all over the ground next to the arsenal/ammo boxes. 5. Getting the inevitable “so and so uniform isn’t correct for that particular operation 47 years ago” comment on the latest campaign/mission I upload to steam or the “I don’t like ACE, please make another version without ACE” comment, etc. Sigh.

    I'm loving the new MG AI ability. Re: The German units...will there be any chance of adopting the German Radio protocols from Iron Front, etc. rather than having them speak English? I didn't know if that was possible without making Iron Front a dependency on this particular mod.

    FYI Folks... I created this Civilian faction to use in conjunction with the ISC pack. They are of a more realistic Iraqi/Syrian style than the typical Afghan based Middle East Civs out there.   14. Hey folks, So I put together this config to represent a civilian population in Syria or Iraq. Most Middle Eastern Civ packs tend to focus on Afghan style so I thought it was needed. I also tried to make it flexible to use with either CUP or RHS based groups so I only used Vanilla and Reyhard's RDS Civ pack assets to make it as lightweight as possible.   16. I use VCOM AI on just about every mission I run with our group. We were hitting buildings with F-18 support last night with no issues so you may want to give VCOM a whirl.

  18. It's not ASR_AI. I've seen the same thing. It's not everytime, but several times Helos will drop troops off then hover directly above for 5-10 min then vanish. It occurred in previous iterations as well.

For the British ALiVE players, I created this simple config in the ORBAT that combined assets from 3CB, CUP, and Burnes mods into one complete faction that can be used as such in ALiVE campaigns. 3CB is the base with MTP units, augmented by Challenger Tanks, Warrior and Bulldogs APCs, Mastiffs, Wolfhounds, Ridgebacks from CUP (all manned by 3CB crews). I also added the C-130 transport, Harrier Jets, and Chinook to the faction from CUP. And last but not least, the faction has Husky and Foxhound vehicles (again manned by 3CB crews). http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=928095301 (There is a link on that page to one of my campaigns currently utilizing this config) Faction Name: Brit_Army_MTP for MTP Uniforms with Woodland Vehicles Brit_Army_Desert for Desert Uniforms with Desert Vehicles. *Currently my first release has config for MTP/Woodland/Desert factions. I'll also be making Jungle, and Arctic factions of a similar nature.
  20. If you pick up any object placed by zeus through player logisitics, or if you get inside of any vehicle placed by zeus, ALiVE will indeed save that object.
  21. One other larger issue my group discovered after playing a few ALiVE sessions on the map....some of the new buildings are indestructible. We had CAS and demo hit several and it didn't cause a dent. This could be a problem for those who use it for insurgency missions. Just FYI. Other than that...map has been a blast to play on.
  22. Best Middle East map ever. Great job. One minor issue: the south airbase has an issue with AI aircraft and drones taking off. they take off fine at the northern airbase.
